This company is not honest. I called them to diagnose a problem with my range and paid the $75 service fee. The repairman determined the bake element was bad and that I need a new one and told me it would be $237 to fix it!!!!!

I found the part on line for $29 (free shipping). When I confronted the office staff, they were rude and defiant and could not offer me a reasonable explanation why they were charging $60 for the part and $100 for labor on top of the $75 I've already paid. Installing the part is as easy as plugging a lamp into the wall.

This company is only open Mon-Fri 8-4 which they did not tell me when they originally scheduled to come out. Also, their "window" for the tech to show up is either 8-12 or 12-4 so you have to miss a whole day in order to be home for them to come in a work on your appliances. They called me two weeks later and said the parts were in. When they explained that they did not work on weekends or past 4pm, I asked if they could just have a tech stay out an hour late so I could be home. They said "No if we did that for you we would have to that for everyone." I understand that this is their policy however, I'm pretty sure as a business if your customers request something "all the time" (as I was told by the agent) you should do it or try to work in more flexibility so when the need arises you can work to satisfy a customer instead of telling them you will do nothing at all to work for them. Last time I checked a business as supposed to work for its customers not take them for granted. Here it is a month later and I'm still waiting for a chance to take off work so they can come out and hopefully fix the fridge this time.

Long story short, any appliance repair company can fix your appliances so use one that actually treats their customers with respect and works to earn your business. Not one with rude staff, terrible hours and a total lack of desire to help their customers.

I've been using this company for all my appliance repairs for about 5 yrs. Everytime I call they are able to send a service tech out to my house within 24 hour peroid.
I love that they are able to come out to my home and diagnose my problem quickly and percisely each and everytime. I can't afford to be inconvenienced by having to take time off work over and over again. And thank God that's never been the case with them.
Their prices are very fare and actually cheaper than servicer's I used in the past.
I would recommend calling them for all your appliance repairs!!!

I called Mid America service for a washing machine repair. The repairman walked in, lifted up the washing machine, pulled a sock from the bottom of the machine, and restarted it. It is apparently working fine now, but the bill for 3 minutes was $114.95! They have a $75.95 trip charge, but to add $40 on top of that for 3 minutes (I am not exaggerating, he did that within 3 minutes of ringing the doorbell) is, in my opinion, gouging customers. I will never call them again.

By the way, if your washing machine won't drain, you might want to check to see if a sock or dryer sheet is stuck to the bottom. And if that doesn't fix the problem I recommend that you call a different company.

Not only that, but my only request was that they call me directly when they knew the problem, rather than attempt for my Portuguese girlfriend to explain it to me, and they couldn't even do that. When I called back and calmly attempted to get at least some of my 100 back, I was gruffly told they did their job and I should be happy. Please learn from my mistake and go somewhere that cares about their customers.

We have reviewed your complaint and have determined that the facts listed on your complaint are "NOT" true statements.
Mid America Service was NOT the servicer that came to your home and told you that you had bad cables, took a person call to his girlfriend and got into an arguement in Sept. 2008.
The very first time we have ever provided service to you is on Nov. 17, 2008 when your set went out completely. We have only ever sent one technician to your home, J.S. He did have to order a "lamp" so that we could get power/a picture to your set so that we could further diagnose it. Once the lamp was replaced and the set had power again, the technician was able to further diagnose the problem and that's when he determined that the in-line fuse and power supply were bad.
As you can probably guess, we have to ordered expensive replacement parts and for that we must rely on other companies. Since most of the part suppliers are in California, it does take a little while to recieve parts. (That's just the nature of the beast and is out of our control.)
The very same technician that diagnosed the set came back out (with an additional technician to make sure that we did not damage anything due to the size of your t.v.) and the technicians installed the in-line fuse and power pcb, tested all of the tv functions and everything was working as it should.
So, We are sorry that you had to deal with a "technician" from " a different service company" that started the repair off on a "bad note" but we have the proof and files to prove that it was NOT US!
If you would like to know who it was I would suggest calling your contract company, Service Net, back and discussing it with them.
However, we are "NOT" the "BAD GUYS" in your situation.
We work very hard to provide excellent and fair repair service to our customers. We value each and every customer.

My Tv has been down since September 3rd 2008. i have to go thru service net to get my tv serviced thru warrenty and they always go with mid america service. I have had multiple techs out to take a look at it. The first tech that came out to look at it was so rude that he answered a personal call from his girlfriend and started to yell at her while at my house. i have kids in the house and had to ask him to step outside. That tech diagnosed the problem with the tv as a cable problem. i then replaced every cable and not fixing the problem the tv went out compleately on nov 12th 2008. i called service net again they again sent out mid america servce (a deferent tech this time) who said it was the lamp. wrong again, they then said it was the power supply. i have been waiting for the power supply to show up for two weeks to check again to see if this fixes the problem. it is now December 16th 2008. this company has the worst customer service that i have ever worked with. I am a biomedical technician at a hospital and if i ever treated my customers the way this company does i would not have a job.

After reading the reviews for this company, I felt the need to provide my opinion and experience with this company. I recently used this servicer to repair my refrigerator. They were recomended by the manufacturer. They came out and charged me one fee to look at the unit and then told me what was wrong with the refrigerator. They ordered a new defrost thermostat and water valve for it. When they came back to install the parts, just a few days later, they repaired the unit and asked me to pay for the parts and labor. The repair amount was reasonable and matched the repair estimate that was given to me when they were there the first time. I have and will recomend this company. Good company and they take care of the customers.
