When the weather is nice, I like to walk across 119th from the Sprint Campus on my lunch hour for Spin's salad and pizza lunch special. There are only 4 pizza choices and I always get the sausage with the greek salad. Then I sit and read the Pitch and enjoy the unlimited diet coke with lime refills. The lunch crowd is always cheery and animated. I think the price is right for what you get, the service is consistently attentive. All the servers pitch in, not just your server. If you ask, you could even get a sample of the italian gelato, try the walnut.
They have a Monday carry out special -- buy two $12 pizza's and get the 3rd one free. Try their other menu items and write about it here.

This pizzeria just opened in Lee's Summit and is kind of an upscale, modern take on pizza. Don't be looking for your normal cheese and pepperoni here! The menu is varied, but you have to order when you walk in the door-not easy if you have never eaten there before and if it is very crowded. Luckily, the kids loved the pizza, the atmosphere is great and the cost is comparable to Minsky's. Forget the to go box, the pizzas are one size and one size only-and you will eat it all.

Don't come here expecting Pizza Hut. This place is true Italian-style pizza, and it is wonderful. You can even bring your own wine. It's so tasty, and their appetizers are great. They have a salad and pizza lunch deal that you can't beat. I can't say enough good things about this place!

Pros: So, so tasty

Cons: Pricier than others, but so worth it

They serve thin crust (neoplitan) pizza and it is great - excellent ingredients and always prepared just right. Can get crowded at lunch and more at dinner - they serve wine now too and I heard they are opening another location - Olathe maybe ? I've taken several out-of-town guests there and they loved it too - one of my kids' favorite places.

Cons: parking not the greatest but not really bad

As the former Queen of Bagelry in Kansas City, Gail Lozoff has a knack for yeast. These days, it's her doughy rounds of pizza---which are stone-fired crisp---rather than soft, yielding bagels that earn cred. The whole affair, from start to…
