It's just astounding the variety of things on sale and the cheapness of it all.

The piles of sunglasses, watches, wallets, etc held no interest to me. The upper levels hold some promise in the form of full blown fashion designed by the likes of Escada, Cavalli, Hugo Boss, Moschino, etc.

You need to be committed to finding something of quality that suits your personal style - I FINALLY unearthed a stunning Dolce & Gabbana white bustier, reduced from $860 to $170.??By all means, if you've a love of couture, Century 21 is worth a visit, but be prepared to put in some work if you're to get something beautiful to show for your efforts.
They have really good prices and a good variety of products. But when you talk about people, they are not friendly at all, you must do-it-yoursef. Need to use mens fitting rooms? There is only ONE for the entire store. And you can use it only if your are trying pants for suites. I would buy some jeans and was prohibited to try them on. "You have 30 days to change" they told me.

Great shopping for little money, situated next to World Trade Center, great transportation by underground, its huge! all compartments - shoes, clothes, home accessories, cosmetics, men, women, kids, jewelery, handbags all the best brands in very discounted prices! its usually very crowded so try to come early in case to avoid crowds, open sicne very early hours.

I believe that C21 is selling fake Versace clothing. They were selling down jackets labeled Versace Collection, but made in China. I though all Versace collection was 'made italy' I did some research on the interenet and could find no trace of this garment. Took it back today for a refund. I have lost faith in the store.

It is very unfortunate, but I am seeing more and more "fake" clothes at the store. Most things are real, but those dont come cheap, are not really discounted very much.
I wonder how a big store like this is doing it without getting cought?!

Dont listen to the insane post written by a person by the name of katherine luc ass she is obviously a very disturbed individual. she is jealous of a nations world wide success and scholarly achievements. everything she said about AHAVA products is false. first of all they are great products made from ingredients taken directly from the dead sea which belongs to ISRAEL(a democratic country) not palestine(a country run by hamas; a terrorit organization), and second of all Century 21 is a great department store liked by tourists who come from across the globe shop there. so obviously lucas is a very disturbed and jealous individual who supports terrorist organizations and promotes defamation and discrimination. eat your heart out katherine, you gave yourself an unusual username for a muslim, part of your propoganda!!

First off I'm going to review each section for a guide to new c21 shoppers
Women's(Misses): 3/5 stars, cute stuff, but they often skip from teeny tiny sizes (like mine) to huge sizes. They have the cutest coats, I recently bought a tommy hilfiger coat there for about 70% off retail, with absolutely no flaws, I checked very well. However, there are mobs of people there on Saturdays and Sundays, so try going on a random day such as a thursday

Mens: My mom always likes their mens stuff for gifts, my dad doesn't care so that gets 4/5

Childrens: The children's section is fabulous they have a huge selection of designers like Juicy COuture, Guess, Dkny, diesel, Seven, True Religion for still a bit pricey but for much cheaper in a wide variety of sizes 5/5

Juniors: They always seem to have the same boring stuff in the juniors, but I have found cute things that I like, but they always have the same styles 3/5

Shoes: IDK about the Manhattan one, but the BK one has the greatest shoe selection yet, except for they have very limited sizes in the high end designers such as Tory Burch and Dolce and Gabbana etc. 4/5

My only complaint is their return policy and their staff, their staff in the makeup and perfume area is nice but other than that they are eh 2/5

This is an incredible place to shop if you're on a budget and still want to have designer clothes. Just remember to make sure to watch out for tears and rips, as re-sold designer clothing goes on a discount due to such faults. Don't let that stop you from finding (several) jewels in the rough.

Century 21 is one of my favorite places to shop! I first started going there because I was looking for cheap but really good sheets, and that can be really hard to find but not at Century 21. Once I started buying my bedding there I never went anywhere else again. Sometimes I can score some really top of the line, designed, high thread count sheet sets for less than 45 bucks each, and in another store it would be twice that much. \n\nBut I also like to check out the mens department while Im there to score some items for my boyfriend and my nephew, because they have some really great deals on designer jeans, belts and shirts. On the other hand I can get lost in the shoe department, which is actually a separate store, chock full of leading designed shoes at a great price break. \n

This store can be good deal for designer brands but trust me you will be treated like an animal or the most unwanted customer in their store.First thing every staff has an attitude problem specially the ladies who work in the Ladies fitting room area they treated me like a thief. Most chaotic, unmanaged store I have ever seen in my life. The worst part is the customer service in the store

Century 21 carries a lot of designer brands at great discount prices. I'm not that into brand names but every once in a while I'll come here and I always find something I like and get an awesome deal, too. It's very crowded but I wouldn't expect anything else from a discount department store. Customer service is great here. The reps are (too) patient and really try hard to help people find exactly what they're looking for. Large clothing stores generally give me a massive headache, and this one is no different, but among headache-causing stores I'd rank the Century21 experience at the top.

Agree with some of the preivous reviews on the lousy service. I work and live in Downtown Manhanttan. Having spent thousands here for its ""convenience"" (e.g. towels, linen), I was almost accused of ""stealing"" on April 28,2011. \r\n\r\nStory is I went there to pick up some long gym pants after work. I got two identical pairs. But at the register the cashier (Walter) rang two differnt prices. I with all integrity asked him to check. 15 minutes later, a security guard (his name tag reads Matthew J.) showed up and pulled me aside asking how a price tag of a pairt of shorts got on to one of the long pants I picked. I was completely humiliated in front of so many other curstomers. You dont have be told you are stealing in yoru face and thats exactly the intonation of his question leading to.\r\n\r\nThen, he asked me to follow him to a private office in the lowest floor. I stepped in front of him and was told to follow him ONLY. Am I a crinimal or what? Another African American man showed up and both wanted to take me to the private office. I refused to as a petite Asian woman, I dont feel comfortable going in somewhere with two big man. I pleaded them to call police or pull out the vedio tapes, which they refused. At the end, the Afriacan Amercan man told me to leave HIS store. Is this how you treat a customer who spent all these money over the years?\r\n\r\nI then spoke with the store manager, Joyce, who baiscally told me they are just doing their job. Nothing else she can do. Yeah, you are right I kept wondering whether all these happened because I am an Asian, a minority? Would someone ask to double check the prices if she/he wants to cheat on a price tag? \r\n\r\nI have a well paid job, comepltely clean record and a superior credit store, Thanks Century21 for giving me the MOST humiliating experiecne of my life. I couldnt sleep for nights and it painfully angers me how I was treated for someone elses mistake, intentional or not. When it comes to my integrity, I cant let go so easily.\r\n\r\nI will NEVER go there again. Not even close!!! I am also writing to the Better Business Bureau and C21 Headquarters.

they recently got a tailor.. the tailor doest know how to do a proper hem and if he doesnt know how to do something simple like that you all better believe they cant properly fix a suit. it would be better to steer clear from that sloppy work and inconsistancy.

The prices are amazing. The selection is pretty good, but the employees are not helpful or knowledgeable, they're rude, and most of them were standing around talking instead of working. I manage a retail store and if my employees acted in that manner, they'd get the boot.

Century 21 has one good thing going for it.....sure the ads are convincing, the stores are huge, the sea of styles is unending, and the crowds maddening. Yet, in the midst of it all is a sales clerk/cashier named Ashely # 67652. Her welcoming smile, helpful attitude and speedy assistance is the store's biggest credit. Thank you Ashley!!!

This might attract tourists or those who don't care to wear old clothes from 3 o 4 years back, just piled up with 1000 cameras over you. \nI advise you to be careful in what you purchase, many of their apparels are damaged and at times also worn, just re-ticketed and sold back to the innocent customer.\nBlah!

I have found that the Century 21 in Manhattan to be pretty bad for ladies clothing unless you're very small and have a lot of time to search. I was very lucky though last week to find a very nice large selection of evening dresses in my size. For those of us who live outside the city, the Century 21 in Rego Park is MUCH better organized and has a larger dressing room. Yes, you do get treated like a criminal on the way in AND out because they apparently have a huge shoplifting problem at all of their locations. But, this is a discount store and you have to be prepared for inconveniences. All in all I say you can always find SOMETHING at any of the Century 21 stores, but this one is particularly tedious due to the very large crowds.

Pros: Best for menswear, ladies undies and accessories

Cons: Clothes are a bit manhandled, not a lot of sizes over 10

Recently made a trip to nyc, went with my boyfriends sister, and she had been there for the past 20 years, had a great tour guide to say the least. We went into Century 21, and my god. This place was packed. Wall to wall people. So we went along and did our shopping, they had a lot of cahsiers working, needless to say they were not all friendly.. Lots of people working but no one wanted to help. Hope not all the stores are like this....\r\n

Do not shop in the westbury store. They had bad customer service. I lost my wallet and all I wanted the store to do is to roll bad the camera to see if I put the wallet in my pocket or left it on the counter. The security lady tell me they can't roll back the tape. The security manager tells me they can roll back the tape but they don't do it for customers. As a customer for many years I feel betrayed. To all future customers if u lose something consider it lost!\n

I love this store. From bedding to designer clothes, you just can't beat their sales. It is always full of European tourists so you know that they can get designer goods cheaper here than back home. At their end of the season sale, you have to fight off the crowds. I've gotten Italian cashmere silk sweaters retailing for $300 at under $20, a Vera Wang cocktail dress for $160 from $1300, Colehaan and Geox shoes for $49, Calvin Klein sheets cheaper than you'll ever find in dept stores and wonderful small leather goods under $20. Even at their ""retail price"" it is still cheaper than what you'll find on sale uptown.

Pros: incredible sales

Cons: fighting crowds, never ending dressing room lines

By far the greatest shop that I have ran into, living in Boston I was in luck when I came across this store in NYC, a beautiful hand bag bliss with various selections. The store of course is called Century 21, and I love my bags! I was supposed to get one but ended up getting four, and by the time I left I spent well over $400. Ladies check this place out.

Earlier I have been huge fan of C21 but for the past one year I found the quality of all the stuff to be very poor. Wallet came apart in 5 days of usage. Calvin Klein, boxers after one wash the stitching came off and were unwearable.\nIt seems that they source their stuff from some cheap Chinese manufacturer. To me there is no difference between the guys selling fake Louis Vuitton bags outside the store and C21 selling fake trendy designer wear inside.

There is no need for the exaggrations, that is why they are so insulting!\r\nIf I can purchase a bag listed for $195 for $60, why claim it retails for $225? I will continue to shop but can't trust the store to give me a value. They must love the ""how much you saved"" reciept too much.

Okay, look. The people on here who review this store take themselves WAY too seriously. You are going to a DISCOUNT DEPARTMENT STORE. If you want to find good clothes at good prices, EXPECT to push, shove, and yell. Do not go in expecting a nice shopping experience, you won't get it. But you MIGHT get a Marc Jacobs Collection Cashmere v-neck sweater (orig. 700 dollars) for $99. On clearance. Don't be afraid. Bargain shoppers can smell fear.

It is true that they have a lot of stuff at discounted prices, but it sometimes feels that everything is simply trashy. I had to return an item I purchased and everyone was really rude. Actually, when I was paying for it originally, I got pretty muched bullied by the cashier. I usually don't mind the service, specially at a store where you interact for 10 seconds with the cashier, but this people where incredible. Sincerelly, for me it is not worth it.

Well I love the fact that there are so many things to choose from . Clothes, shoes, purses, watches oh my the list can go on forever. I love this store I can spend the whole day there searching thru the many items that's available ""only if I didn't have a life lol"" but overall the store is great and I love to shop here. I recommend anyone to just check it out the employees are really helpful and they try there best to assist with anything possiable. But I must say u must have patients.

I was very disappointed when I began looking at the shoes then the women's clothing. Some of the shoes had been worn, clothing had holes and stains. I thought I had gone into a second hand store. After the initial shock I carefully looked and found a nice cashmere sweater for a great price.

If you want to be catered to by staff please shop at barneys and sak's. You get what you pay for and this is a discount store. I cannot understand why these prissy up tight women are writing bad reviews. Where else are you going to get a Marc Jacobs bag for 149.99? So ladies really stop your belly aching and grow some thick skin. This is NYC you want polite shop in CT

Today was ruined by my experience at this store. \r\n\r\nWe went to shop at 5:30pm, and stayed until closing. I shopped for over one hour in the shoe dept., finally finding two pair that I really liked. I took them with me to the clothing dept. and tried to pay for them with the clothes I wanted to purchase, just to be told by a very low-class, angry, unprofessional ""manager"" that I was NOT ALLOWED to purchase them unless the shoes were tagged separately. The boxes each described the shoes perfectly, yet this was not enough to warrant a sale. The manager inappropriately attempted to lecture me on the policy, as if it was posted everywhere and I just didn't see it. But the policies are NOT posted, and I wasted 3 hours at this store and left with nothing. I cannot believe I had to practically beg to be allowed to spend money!!\r\n\r\nDressing room staff treat customers like thieves in a prison, screaming rules every few minutes. While standing at the register waiting, waiting, I turned around to look at some tops hanging inches away from the line. I was then man-handled by a female security guard who told me to stop looking, that I needed to just stand at the register and wait, because it was not fair to the workers who were attempting to then fix the items hanging per their closing duties. No worker was around doing this, instead a group of them was a good 20 feet away, talking and laughing. \r\n\r\nThe whole experience was so stressful! I can't remember ever being treated so badly by a place where I am spending my money without need. I will NEVER step foot into these stores again. Terribly run business!

I used to be such a fan of this place. I know you are supposed to come with your patience and willingness to dig for a deal. Well my last visit was too much. The place was sooo packed and the merch was everywhere! There seemed to be more disorganization than I've ever seen. I think I start finding my deals online now and avoid the mess and crowd.

I used to love going to Century 21, but now since they have discontinued their plus size department, I will no longer shop at this store. Too bad, because the handbags, shoes, children's clothes and lingerie departments are great. But, since they no longer obviously care about me, their loyal customer, I will not spend my hard-earned money at this store. Bye, bye Century 21, it was good while it lasted.

Great place for that one (or couple) bargain if youre there at the right time, first come first serve. Expect crowds & merchandise mishandled as time passes while on the floor! No specific time or day when merchandise will be receive & added to the floor, primarily a guess when items will be in stock & on the sales floor. Most half of the service on the other hand, can be improve in the management & floor/cashier service or it begins with HR in their selection of new hires. Return policy on certain items is a twist & turn, no direct return.

We found a prom dress for 70% off the department store price. We were very happy with the selection in all departments and even more happy with the prices. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely shop at this store again. Already planning a fall trip to look for homecoming dresses. I have been spreading the word about how great this store is and hope that others take advantage of the bagains.\r\nWell worth the trip and the crowds are outweighed by the selection and prices.

i know that more then half of the people who shop at century 21 are tourists, and so i would recommend it to them because they seem to think everything here is really cheap (especially the europeans),\r\n\r\nbut if you want to get some designer clothes for a cheaper price there is a chance century 21 will have them but i would prefer stores like loehmanns or daffys or tjmaxx because its calmer and things are better organized\r\n\r\nin general everything here is a mess, its a wild mob of people, you have to push through and its just annoying most of the time.
