A close friend lost her husband and the family chose Newcomer. The family suggested the svc be held at their church, feeling that the funeral home could not accommodate the number of people. The female staff member "rolled her eyes" at this suggestion. There were over 1200 people at the service. Monetary donations were requested in lieu of flowers and were collected in a clear lucite box which was taken back to Newcomer at the end of the svc. with no notification to the family. All personal cards were opened by them stating they were "checking to see if any checks were written to them". Additionally, sympathy cards sent to Newcomer that were addressed to my friend were also opened when she rec'd them. Newcomer was paid IN FULL - UP FRONT, so I'm not sure what their intentions were?? Lack of compassion and unprofessionalism to say the least. This is not something that ANYONE should have to deal with during such a difficult time. I would never recommend or use this company for reasons stated above. I have heard several stories since the loss of my friend, where people had similar experiences. I hope they have the courage to say how they feel on this forum. Lynn Poehlman GALLOWAY, OH

My dad passed away suddenly Jan 2008 and we were not sure what to do about funeral arrangements. Newcomer was recommended to us and we decided to use them. We were very glad we did. They were very genuine in their care and concern for our family. Every staff member was very sympathetic towards each of us. They helped us make our decisions and choices without being pushy or trying to persuade us to "upgrade" anything. They helped us with all the necessary paperwork making it easy to get through. We were extremely happy with the way my dad looked during the funeral. He looked natural and not "all made up" as I know you have seen people look. I have recommended Newcomer Funeral Home in Grove City, OH on more than one occasion and will continue to do so. I am glad that we found there are people in this line of work who are dedicated in the care of a grieving family.

Service was just ok you get what you pay for. This is a new facility and nicely decorated but that is it. Customer service is lacking and they are not real sympathetic. I would not take my dead gold fish to this place.

We recently went to Newcomer Funeral home to make arrangements for my mom's funeral. We were lucky enough to get Mitch for our funeral director.
Mitch was very caring, and sympathetic, as well as uplifting to our family. Thank you for all of your help and caring at such a hard time.
