Yes, Walgreen's is still very friendly, and shoppers have noticed "change" in the store's format. Change is usually good, so I am not opposed to change, but the buyer's put on blindfolds concerning this particular store. It services a racially and ethnically diverse population, but falls short of supplying products particular to this diversity. One often has to travel "beyond" this store to another nearby Walgreen's store, to find products sought.

Keeping demographics in mind, I do not understand why "other" Walgreen's stores that are less than 5 miles away would carry products that this store does not, which consumers living closest to this store are seeking. They fail to keep in mind that University City is comprised of citizens that reflect youth, the middle-aged, and the elderly, and also people of African, Asian, Hispanic, European, Jewish, Indian, and Pacific-Islander descent for each age category, that seek products traditionally peculiar to their particular group. This store was once considered as a "first choice" to find these products, but recently has failed to stock such items.

I do see, however, many orange-tagged "discontinued" items that would appeal to national "popular demand", but fail in this Walgreen's store because of the peculiar population it services. I would like to see Walgreen's return to the practice of catering to its population. I can often find items on the Walgreen's web site, but unavailable in my store.

Buyers, please take off the blindfold, and pick up the practice of catering to demand. It is just good business!
