In ShortFounded in 1901 in Chicago by Charles R. Walgreen Sr., this neighborhood pharmacy has grown to be one of the nation's largest drugstore chains. Each store carries 25,000 different items--from cleaning products to electronics and greeting cards. Store features include a computerized system connecting pharmacies nationwide via satellite, grocery-store food aisles, one-hour photofinishing and an automated phone system for prescription refills and pre-arranged pickup times. If you need a prescription filled in the middle of the night, or need something from a drug store late- they are open 24 hours which is so convenient. While their everyday prices are A little high, they have great sales and offer rain checks if they run out of an item.. If you are into rebating, they have a wonderful program where every month you can get items for free, or if you clip coupons and are willing to get your rebate in the form of a gift card (then you get an extra 10% back) you can make a little money shopping there. I use my gift card from the previous month's rebates to get the free items for the current month. Great way to try new items for free!!!
