This has become our version of the "local" for lazy Sundays...like the d?nouement of Saturday night, this place is easy on you no matter what you did the night before. I'm partial to the veggie burger with a little drama--spinach artichoke dip on top! Plus sweet potato fries, which are definitely good for you. Lots and lots of lovely beer on tap plus everything you might need from the full bar.

In a city known for its conservative vibe it was nice to have a bar such as the Anchor around to spice things up or at least I used to think that. After spending time there recently I can honestly say I have never been treated more rudely by waitstaff. When an issue arose on a bill we were treated with hostility; there was no compromise to be found. Pass on this place.

Looking for breakfast without alot of hullabulloo? The Anchor is a bar, so no noisy kids here on a Sunday morning. Food is good and priced reasonably. Drinks can be served on a patio out front or in a smoke free section of the bar if you don't want to spent time in a smokey environment. A cover is charged when there are local or national musicians playing. And there are a variety of musical types passing through. It's also a stop on the Final Friday trolley.
