My favorite is Uncle Vito's burger, it's a mix of hamburger and sausage and it's on a soft pretzel-like bun. Now THAT is 2-fisted eating! Their subs, however, are meager. Lots of bread, good amount of vetetables, but you'd better be prepared to ask for extra meat if you want to be satisfied. My husband took half of his home and added more meat and a little bit of italian dressing. Their frozen custard is good, chili is unusual and good.
They were out of ice and sweet tea when we went last night, but the employees refilled them immediately, so I'd say kudos on the service. You should give it a try.

I read the previous reviews and had to respond. Not sure why it is the restaurant's fault that a lid was not asked for and the reviewers child "of course" dumped milk everywhere. I ordered the soup and half sandwich as did my friend. The wedding soup was very flavorful and the chowder looked delicious. The half panini's were pretty traditional - if you want more meat, get a burger. The sandwiches were thin on fillings but flavorful and the bread was delicious. Yes, it is more pricey than a McDonalds but the service, selection and food are galaxies beyond fast food.

I have not experienced their "solid two-fisted eating" personally, because my sandwich barely ahd any filling! It was mostly bread, very dry and also rather bland. I can't remember the last time I added somethign to a sandwich, but I was reaching for salt this time. The Italin my friend got was different with these sweet pickeled bell peppers on it. Very different. Also meager with the fillings. I feel it's overpriced for what they deliver.

Johnny Buccelli's touts themsevles as "solid two-fisted eating". And they do offer a lot of food to do that with! Subs, burgers, panini sandwhiches, and so on. They do try to be a family-friendly restaurant as well. There are huge booths, old-time pics of large groups enjoying meals, and so on. The ambience is good. However, the two times my husband and I have taken our kids there, I can say that the food was good, but not too impressive. The sandwhiches are rather plain. Tasty, but plain. And though our kids love pizza, they would not eat their pizza. Also, we showed up one day about an hour after opening, and there were no lids left for the cups. And so my son (no surprise) dumped milk all over the place. The best thing about Johnny Buccelli's so far is the Strawberry Lemonade. Definately worth a trip in there, IMO!

PROS: Family Friendly, Average Prices
CONS: Plain food
