They have the worst customer service i have ever seen !!!!!!!!!!!they resceduled my deliveyy 4 times I said i wantedm my money back and they said they would only give me a store credit ....

I bought a recliner in the Greenwood Indiana store on March 13 shortly after moving to the area and due to my rural location I opted to have the item delivered. My phone number changed during this time but Ashley had my correct Internet email address. The whole of March went by without a delivery or contact with Ashley. Finally, I went down to the Greenwood store on April 9 and gave them my current phone number. On Wednesday April 13 they called and told me they would be there between 3 and 6 pm Thursday. Waited around all day Thursday till after 6 pm. Nothing. No delivery, no phone call, nothing. Called up Friday mornoing, April 15. Was assured delivery would be between 3-6pm that day, Friday. Had to do things so arrived back at my place a few minutes after 3. Found a door hanger that Ashley had been there but missed me. A call to the number on the door hanger yielded the info that the delivery person had waited an hour and left the hanger at 3:08 pm. If so, he arrived at my place well outside the 3-6 pm window. Called Ashley and they said the "window" was just a suggested time. How about the truth- that you should stay at your house all day to wait for the delivery? At least you won't get people pissed off that way. Now my stuff won't be delivered until Wednesday April 20 even though it was paid for in full March 13.
I read the contract, and even though Ashley's performance has been abysmal, I can't get a refund. Bullsh*t.
Because of this company's lackadaisical attitude towards customer service, they will get no repeat service. I for one will never spend another dime with them. And I will tell everyone I know who is contemplating a purchase with Ashley Furniture of my experience. In five years they will be gone and people will say "Ashley who?"
Bottom line: If it's not in stock and they want you to order it, don't spend your money there. In manufacturing, this is known as JIT (just-in-time) ordering. That means it isn't built until it's ordered. Fine for manufactiuring but terrble for retailing. The merchant is fully protected, and the customer bears all the responsibility and consequence.
Bottom line: Ashley Furniture are crooks!

I've purchased several items from this store, and have been happy every time. They have the biggest selection of furniture in the frederick area, and everything is quality (unlike value city). In fact, we had to cancel an order right before they delivered, and they allowed us to exchange and not pay the full restocking fee. I highly recommend.

!I don't recommend buying furniture from this store. I am a former employee who worked for the Arab that owns it and they are not only ripping off customers but employees too. I am a single mother who has to sue them to get the monies owed to me. Also all sales are final if you buy furniture and it comes in an off color youre screwed. I hate foreiners who come into our country and rip off americans. If you are considering law suit do it please help run them out of business. Don't shop here.......or demand refunds. My husband and I bought a bed from Ashley Furniture in July of 2009. When we purchased it they told us that there would be shipping delays and we wouldn??t receive the bed for 6-8 weeks. That seemed reasonable and we were willing to wait. By mid-September, when we had not received our bed, I called to check on the delivery status. I was told that the bed should be delivered by mid-October. I called again mid-October and was told mid-November. When November rolled around and we were told the bed might be ready by the end of December my husband and I decided to get a refund.
It took almost two full months for us to get our money back. We were told that the refund had to be approved by the corporate office in Huntsville AL before it would be processed and that we could expect a full refund in 1-2 weeks. We made the refund request in person at the location we purchased the bed. After two weeks we called and were told there was no record of our request on file. We called the number we were give in Huntsville and were told the refund request did not exist but that they would process it that week. We went back to the store November 26th and were shown by the store manager, Russell, that the refund request had been approved. He told us that the refund was processed but that he could not give us printed confirmation of the transaction. Russell was much more interested in getting back to a football game than he was in helping us get our money back. He said he would email a confirmation but never did.
After two more weeks of waiting for the refund credit to show on my credit card my husband again went to the Ashley store where he was told that the refund was never processed. Apparently the approval for the refund had been approved by the corporate office, but the store never applied the credit. They did not apologize for the trouble or anything else. This is a terrible way to do business and I want to warn everyone not to shop at Ashley furniture. They will take your money, never deliver the furniture you bought and you??ll be lucky to get your money back.

I bought dining room furniture in Feb2010 and when it was delivered in March it was damaged. Instead of replacing the item, they sent a repair person who was going to get parts-- this was supposed to be brand new first quality furniture. It is now June and nothing has been repaired and they haven't even called me. Everytime I call, they tell me the parts will be delivered in 4-5 days. Been hearing the same the story since March. Don't buy here. The customer service is horrible and everytime I call, they hang up on me.

Have a defect on my dining table proved with photos etc..was told only after 2 months of phone calls and false promises to replace or repair the table that it was not a manufacturer defect. Had to deal with very rude people and liars, the all experience is despicable and just NOT ACCEPTABLE

I have been a long time customer of Ashley Home store I made a purchase in January 2009 of a counter height table and 4 chairs. After getting the run around from the store for weeks and weeks on the phone and in person I finally just wanted my money back in May 2009. After being promised I would receive a full refund I felt a little satisfaction but unfortunately that was lie I never got my refund I was told over and over again that I would get a refund check in the mail that never came. Finally at the end of July I went back into the store to get some kind of compensation and was told at the time that the previous owner had taken my money along with other and was not purchasing the furniture, but that store was under new management. I am a very patient person but this was pushing me over the edge so I decided to give them a chance the try to clean up this mess. Their new management was excellent I got my furniture 2 weeks after going into the store and received a small gift card even though this did not erase what happened the past months, it a small gesture to give me some form of compensation which went a long way with me. Since then, I have went back into the store on 2 separate times and purchased a couple more pieces. My experience with the new management has been wonderful and I will continue to shop with them.

I can see that I wasn't the only one disappointed in with the Ashley store in Frederick. I made a purchase in February 09' for a sofa, loveseat and a dining set. I paid $2300 CASH. I was told it would take 6 weeks to receive my furniture. I thought that was reasonable. Well, not so true. I called in April to hear that my items have been placed on back order. It would be another 3 weeks. I gave them 4 weeks. I called the store and even made a couple of visits only to be told the items are still on back order. I was promised I would receive a refund of my delivery fee and was told I would get a gift card in the mail within 2 weeks. Needless to say, I never received the refund of my delivery fee or the gift card. I emailed consumer affairs to only be told each HomeStore is independently owned and there was nothing they could do! June came around, same story. July came around and I got a letter in the mail from the "new management company". At this time, I was very pessimistic about getting anything. I just knew I was completely out of $2300! On August 21, I received a phone call from their customer service department to schedule my delivery. I asked if it was a joke. I couldn't believe it!!!! I scheduled the delivery for 8/28. They called me the day before the delivery just to remind me I was scheduled and to make sure my address was correct. (very nice of them). They told me I would get a call Friday morning with a 4 hour time frame. This whole time, I'm being very skeptical that I'm even getting my furniture. I got a phone call at 9am Friday morning to tell me I would get my furniture between 1 & 5. The drivers showed up at 3:30. They put everything exactly where I wanted it. They assembled my dining set. Everything looked amazing. I was very happy with the "new management company" They did exactly what they said they would do!!! I've told many of my friends about the bad experience I had with this store. But I've told even more friends about the great experience I had once the new company took over. Always remember, don't let one bad apple spoil the bunch!!Many thanks to the customer service from the Ashley Home Store!!!

Like the rest of you, I was waiting on furniture from the old owners since May, but when i called in July was told that new ownership had taken over. I inquired about my ticket and they said I would be getting all my furniture by mid August. And amazingly, i did. The new ownership was great in addressing my needs and concerns, i'm so glad i finally got my furniture. I purchased a dinette set. The table and chairs were delivered on time but not without scratches and half-way assembled. The chairs were pulled off the truck half uncovered and packing tape stuck right to the wood. When they pulled off the blankets and tape, the glue remained stuck to the wood. Pathetic! I called the store that day and was told that I would receive new "parts" within a couple of days and upon receipt, I should call to have a technician come out to repair. That was a month ago and my chairs still aren't fixed. Like you guys said, once a nice store - not anymore. New management is horrible. Their own employees admitted as much.

I cashed the second check and just today received a notice from my bank telling me that the check was refused because the account is CLOSED!

Is anyone here interested in a class action suit?

I finally got good news today after being on the phone for hours. I first contacted Ashley Enterprises in Arcadia, WI (608 323-3377) where the furniture was to be shipped from. They gave me the name of the new Licensee-Abdul Agyaz, and a phone number for the new store Regency Furniture (888 697-3436), after many calls to both places I received a call back and they are delivering my furniture on August 9th. Hope this helps some of you.

I purchased a dinette set with chairs back in March 2009, it is now August. I have been given every excuse in the book. I appeared in person in the Frederick, MD store, and was connected by phone with North Carolina, and was given more false promises. I have called numerous times, and was offered free delivery in June, was told that my dinette set would be delivered the week of June 13th. That week I received a letter indicating they were under new management. I leave messages but no one calls me back. They were once a dependable store, but not any more.

Has anyone gotten their money back from ashleys? i purchased sofas from ashleys on 7th street, did not like them so we returned them, and now we are waiting for our refund for last month and half, unfortunately i paid them thru cash...has anyone gotten any money back...they apparently have a number to call and someone will return your money...but it all sounds fishy..thinking about a Law suite against the company...please let me know if you have received a refund from ashleys after Jul 09

I live in California and in March 09 I purchased a Dresser/Mirror $735 on my VISA, for my daughter in Gaithersburg. It was due to arrive in May, which I thought was somewhat reasonable. I also asked for a copy of the receipt to be mailed to my daughter, which it never was.

My daughter called in mid May and was told her order would arrive in a couple of weeks, as it had to be made! May came and went, no dresser/mirror. So in June she called again and was told the dresser/mirror would arrive in July, and that they I would give me a $150 credit on my VISA for my inconvenience. At that point she was told that alll sales were final, which I thought was weird, but since she really wanted the dresser/mirror, I said OK. Again I asked for a copy of the refund to be mailed to my daughter and it never was, nor was it processed on my credit card.

OK, well it's almost August and my daughter called the store today and they are closed for inventory yesterday and today. KINDA FISHY!

I have now found out the Ashley furniture store in my city Roseville, CA has closed, so I encouraged my daughter to call her store daily.

In the meantime, I callled my VISA company today to dispute the charges as I don't think we will ever get the dresser.

I THINK THE SALESPEOPLE KNEW ALL ALONG THAT THEY WOULDN'T FILL THIS ORDER. AND THEY HAD NO INTENTION OF GIVING ME THE $150 CREDIT FOR OUR INCOVENIENCE.

I THINK THE STATE OF MARYLAND SHOULD GET INVOLVED.

THIS IS FRAUD.....

HA HA!! I WILL GET THE LAS LAUGH BY NOT PAYING THEM... PER CREDIT CARD COMPANY.

I live in California and in March 09 I purchased a Dresser/Mirror $735 on my VISA, for my daughter in Gaithersburg. It was due to arrive in May, which I thought was somewhat reasonable. I also asked for a copy of the receipt to be mailed to my daughter, which it never was.

My daughter called in mid May and was told her order would arrive in a couple of weeks, as it had to be made! May came and went, no dresser/mirror. So in June she called again and was told the dresser/mirror would arrive in July, and that they I would give me a $150 credit on my VISA for my inconvenience. At that point she was told that alll sales were final, which I thought was weird, but since she really wanted the dresser/mirror, I said OK. Again I asked for a copy of the refund to be mailed to my daughter and it never was, nor was it processed on my credit card.

OK, well it's almost August and my daughter called the store today and they are closed for inventory yesterday and today. KINDA FISHY!

I have now found out the Ashley furniture store in my city Roseville, CA has closed, so I encouraged my daughter to call her store daily.

In the meantime, I callled my VISA company today to dispute the charges as I don't think we will ever get the dresser.

I THINK THE SALESPEOPLE KNEW ALL ALONG THAT THEY WOULDN'T FILL THIS ORDER. AND THEY HAD NO INTENTION OF GIVING ME THE $150 CREDIT FOR OUR INCOVENIENCE.

I THINK THE STATE OF MARYLAND SHOULD GET INVOLVED.

THIS IS FRAUD.....

HA HA!! I WILL GET THE LAS LAUGH BY NOT PAYING THEM... PER CREDIT CARD COMPANY.

Here is the story that I got from the sales staff in the store (had to go in--phone number at distribution center disconnected and store number only allows you to leave messages that go unanswered):

The old management company that owned this store lost his credit line, so they started selling furniture, collecting the money for it, and then paying something like $38,000 per truckload cash with OUR money to pay for people's furniture who bought way before us. Then "he" lost his license to sell Ashley furniture.

This new management company took over all of the old orders, even though they are not getting a dime for them. They "claim" that they are going to fill them. Well, I've called about half a dozen times and talked to a few people, and I keep getting promised dates, and nothing comes and no calls.

I purchased 4/13, delivery date was to be 5/29. Still no couch. I'm on the hook for $1,500

The store refuses to give any money off or even to give a refund. If you want your money back, you have to dispute it through the credit company that you financed with. If you paid cash or check, I'd start with BBB and find out what you can do.

THIS STORE HAS HORRIBLE SERVICE!!

I placed my order in February 2009, with a delivery date of June 2, 2009...I am out over $3,000 and still no furniture. You cannot reach them by phone...I think I am going to see them in person and if there is no furniture I am demanding my money back,

I purchased a table and chairs along with a bunkbed and dresser in FEBRUARY. It is now JULY 15th and we are still waiting with no set date. I will NEVER order from them again nor will I recommend this store. I will also be reporting this company to the BBB. This is insane.

I purchased my son's entire apartment from Ashley's and everything was all well and good at delivery (3/5/09) until I received notification that the headboard was damaged on the bed and would need to be replaced. I was informed it would be approximately 2 weeks before I would receive it. It is now July 8th and still no bed. I placed call after call even going to the store owner about my problem. I was promised a $175.00 gift card for my trouble, which to this day I still have not received. I decided to follow-up once again with the store for which a recording came on and a telephone number to call regarding order status. I placed a call to the number only to find out the store has been sold. I asked about my bed and if I would receive it or was I out the money, since I paid cash for it. I was informed the order would be honored by the new owners and on Friday someone from the Customer Service team would contact me with status results.
This whole mess has been one headache after another for me. I sure hope new management straightens this out if they want my continued business.

Note: Today is July 27th and you can't even get through to the store. The phone recording states new management has taken over, they will honor all orders as quickly as possible and someone will call you back. I'm becoming one ticked off individual and enough is enough!

Update: Today is August 26th and I received my bed on August 17th. It took a lot of phone calls and making contact with the right person for this to happen. My thanks to the person who helped me. We love the bed!

Ashley Furniture is usually great. We have bought from them several times. We found them comparable to other furniture stores. The Sales people were friendly during our visits. We did find furniture we like and purchased it. It was disappointing to find that the sofa broke due to defective wood 30 days later. They sent out someone to look at it and it was replaced. That process was a hassle to say the least.

Bottom line: We like the store, and the furniture we bought. We would shop there again if we needed to. The furniture has held up well other than the one incident.

We looked around at other stores and ended up back at Ashley because they had the set that we liked best. The second time that we came, we were able to get the help of a salesman rather quickly and he was quite helpful.

Ashley makes the best furniture, Its tough and lasts forever. I guess Lori usually buys her furniture at the local KMART. I don't think 1200 for a great sectional that will last for years is too much. This furniture has been made for the rental-purchase, and lease market for years. IT WILL NOT fall apart...

Ashley Furniture is new to Frederick. Located off of seventh street in the Giant Eagle shopping center. It is a big showroom with a good selection of bedroom sets and diningroom furnishings as well as furniture for every other room in your home. They also sell bedding sets , linens , and pillows and home acessories. They have some very well crafted and unique furniture items. Lots of parking , easy to locate. The store is large. The employees are a bit pushy with the sales pitches but helpful if you put the kebosh on the used car dealer attack early on ! The prices ended up being a bit out of our average income league though so I do not think I will ever go there again. But if you make a good salary and like upscale type items. Then go check this store out !
