Shampu

Moved here last fall from Ohio to attend CSULB... Feeling out of place and being away from home wasn't fun. I decided to get a new look and some friends from class referred me to Angie. I spoke to Angie before my appointment in detail about my hair and was really excited about the ideas we discussed. When my appointment day came I felt as though we were a team working together to achieve something wonderful. I am happy to say that my new look exceeded any of what I was hoping for. I have a new fun haircut that is sooo easy for me to style, in fact this is the first time I have been able to get my hair to look just like it did when the stylist did it. I get compliments nearly everyday and have been handing out Angie's cards all over campus. The price is perfect, the service is wonderful, and your hair will be beautiful... what else could you ask for?????

I have great hair because I have a great hair stylist! Angie has been the best stylist to have worked on my hair. She is informative and always helping me with easy styling tips. My hair has never looked as shiny and full before. I have been coloring my hair for the last 15 years and I always seem to get that obvious colored look. Since I have been seeing Angie my hair feels and looks so much like what it used to BEFORE I ever started coloring it. I never thought it possible and am thrilled with the outcome. The very first time I saw Angie for color my hair felt so soft and looked so shiny, and every time after it only improved to the point of my hair not looking like colored hair. I am asked all the time who my hair stylist is and I send them Angie's way.

I've been seeing Angie for several years now and am always happy with my hair. The first time I came to Angie she was in a salon in Huntington Beach and I have followed her ever since. My entire family sees her for all of our hair needs. She is great with the kids and my husband wont see anyone else. I have not had any hair disasters since Angie has been working her magic on my hair. I was born a dark brunette but Angie has achieved beautiful color results in lighter shades for my dark hair that always turn out wonderful. I have always been fearful of getting that "Home Job" look when lightening my hair but with Angie I never have to worry about that. I recommend Angie to everyone I meet who is looking for a new stylist. I even recommend Angie to those who aren't looking but should be looking, lol.

My long time stylist recently informed me she was leaving the beauty industry to be a full time mommy to her brand new twins due in the very near future. I was heartbroken and distraught at the idea of searching for a new stylist. Thanks to my wonderful stylist I didn't have to go through all of the stress. She referred me to Angie. She assured me that this was the stylist for me and my not so manageable hair. I was so happy with this referral and so thankful to my previous stylist. Angie was so great! Everything from the initial meeting to the beautiful results of my hair was just so comfortable and relaxing. We talked about me and my hair, what I wanted to stay away from and what I eventually would like to get to, just everything. I really appreciated all the time that was spent with me. I truly felt like I was part of the decision with my hair. I 100% recommend Angie at Shampu Salon. She did an amazing job on my stubborn gray and wild curls! So so happy! : )

I have been a client of Angie's for a few years now and have always been so happy with my cuts and colors. Angie is the type of stylist that listens to what my needs and wants for my hair are. She has always been honest with me in regards to what I can do and probably shouldn't do when I come to her with new ideas. I always feel like we are working together as a team when it comes to my hair. I refer Angie to anyone I meet looking for a new hair stylist. You wont be disappointed in her skills... I have always been more than happy.

I found Angie through this website, and after trying many more expensive and frightfully stuffy salons, I decided to give Angie a call. She is very thorough, thoughtful, and listens to what you are saying. I have short hair with several cowlicks, and Angie is able to give me a very cute cut that is easy to maintain with a minimum of effort. I would definitely recommend this cute little salon to anyone. She also works on Sundays!

I was referred to Angie at Shampu by a friend of mine who told me she was the GREATEST and I would like to say that it was not an understatement. I made appointments for myself and another girl friend of mine who had, had Alopecia and had lost most of her hair which resulted in her having to wear wigs. She had recently grown back much of her hair, but still had a few bald areas. She was very apprehensive about getting her hair cut as she had just grown most of it back. Angies knowledge on Alopecia was astounding and the information she passed on to us about it priceless! Not to mention the shop was great and had a real personal feel to it, she gave my friend a totally awesome cut that hid all of her spots. My friend (and myself) were ecstatic when we left. I felt like we had known Angie forever and the one on one attention you receive is remarkable! For the amount of time she spent with us and the attention paid to our cuts, I would have expected to be charged an arm and a leg (from previous experience other places) but it was totally reasonable! If you are looking for a trustworthy stylist who actually CARES about not only your hair but about you as well, look no further!

I had the pleasure of meeting Angie in August 2007 and having her style my hair.The exceptional service and quality of her work truly, surprised me. I have been to more than a few hairstylist in my time leaving me a bit skeptical. I am very pleased with my hair and the over the top service I received. Try this stylist,you will not be disappointed.

Angie at Shampu has to be the most awesome hair stylist I have ever been to. Not only did she provide the best cut for my hair length and texture, she also worked her magic with my hair color. I have very delicate hair needs as I'm a recovering cancer patient and my hair is very fragile. Her color product was so gentle that it conditioned my hair more than damage it. It was incredible. I'm a redhead too and the color was so vibrant and lasted FOREVER! I would drive clear from arizona where I currently live to california just to have her do my hair again. Thank you so much Angie for making me feel truly beautiful.
While you're there don't forget to sign the wall!

Being a musician my long hair is a very important part of my look.That being said, I'm very leary of anyone touching my hair let alone cutting it and dying it and have had some not so fun experiences in the past.Well my visit to Shampu's was nothing short of fun and very painless. Angie was great and totally took care of me.My hair has never looked better.I had the best time talking with her while we cut conditioned,dyed and straightened my hair..I highly recommend Angie and the Shampus Salon....Your hair will look great and it'll be a great hang as well....

P.S. I'll never go anywhere else that's for sure......

I have written before about Angie but I guess there is a time limit on how old you review must be and my first review from last year was removed. I would like to say that I am still a very happy and satisfied client of Angie's. Shamou is such a relaxing no hassle, no pressure salon. Quaintly tucked away in the East Artist Village of Long Beach, it serves as a refreshing change from the fast paced chatter box atmosphere of larger salons. Angie is my stylist and I can honestly say I am always happy with my hair, as well as it is easy to style and basically exactly what I want everytime. Erik is the other stylist at Shampu. My sister sees Erik on a regular basis and has also never once been unhappy with her hair. I refer Shampu and Angie to everyone and am happy to know that there are stylists out there that still care about their work and it shows in the results. I support Shampu's Angie and Erik 100%!

I have seen both Angie and Erik for my hair. Erik did my relaxer and Angie my color and haircut. These two stylists are the best hair stylist team I have even gone to. The relaxer turned out perfect, my hair is so smooth and soft. Erik was fast and efficient. I saw Angie for my color and cut the very next day. I didn't have to wait a week or more to get my color and there was no damage to my hair, in fact it feels stronger and in much better condition than normally. I was told the reason was the hair color line that they use is a new line from Italy and its conditioning and strengthening to the hair. All I know is that my hair has never felt this good or looked this beautiful. My cut, color, and relaxer are all perfect. I have added a few photos of myself to the photo section here, go ahead and see for your self my results. I will be referring all my friends and family to Angie and Erik at Shampu. Its nice to finally leave happy from a salon again. ;>

Having just moved to Long Beach I found myself searching for a new auto mechanic, etc. I found this site and now I have a new auto mechanic and vet for my dogs, but I didn't think of finding a hairstylist here. I suppose I have always went with word of mouth for that sort of service. Well, word of mouth brought me to many salons in Long Beach but I just didn't find the right stylist for me. One name kept coming up but when I was told it was a small shop one chair two stylists who shared their time there I opted for the larger salons. After checking into about 4 different salons and never really feeling that the stylist and I connected I checked out what the insider pages had to offer. I am so glad I gave in to my old ways. Ironically the same name of that little salon was here, with reviews that were great. I felt like kicking myself for not listening to the people telling me to check this salon out. Shampu is by far the best little hidden secret in Long Beach. Yes it is a one chair salon with two stylists, yes they share the salon, but also they are excellent stylists. I met both Erik and Angie and I can say that I felt comfortable with both of the two. I really felt they both new exactly what I was going for as far as a style and color. We made an appointment which was another plus at this salon because Shampu is open everyday. Being self employed I myself work everyday, so finding a salon open on my slower days is usually difficult. I was able to make a Sunday appointment with Angie. It was great. Shampu may be small but they still do it in style. I was greeted with a Mimosa and we sat and spoke about my hair. It was like hanging out with a friend. The best part besides my hair turning out exactly the way I had pictured it, was the feeling of one on one attention. My time with Angie was my time and I shared it with no other customers. All the attention was on me. I recommend Shampu to anyone looking for a stylist who knows what they are doing and can deliver the results. By the way, I was told that soon both Angie and Erik will be able to be at the salon together. They are currently undergoing some remodeling to accommodate both of them and their clients. Angie assured me that they would still remain open 7 days. Angie said that both Erik and she enjoy their one on one with their customers and don't want to lose that aspect. If you are looking for just the right hairstylist I suggest you check out Shampu, you will be happy you did, I sure am.

UPDATE: 8/2/07
Just went back for another perfect "Do" with Angie. It has been a rare occasion when I have actually been able to find a stylist with the ability to show consistency. Angie once again left me feeling beautiful! Just wanted to let people know how great she is!

I had been trying to live with a bad hair color and cut for the last 2 weeks and I just couldn't deal with it anymore. I was afraid to do anything with my hair since it was pretty dry and brittle from the bad color job I received two weeks ago. I made an appointment with Angie at Shampu after reading about her work here at the insider pages. She listened to all that I had to say, asked me many questions and really cared about what I was saying regarding my likes and dislikes. All this was over the phone, at Shampu we had an even more detailed conversation regarding my hair and lifestyle. Angie wanted to know how I felt, what I liked, who much time I had to spend of styling my hair,etc. Long story short, I feel and look 100% better now. My hair will be a work in progress for a few months, but Angie assured me that WE would get through this together. She promised me no miracles, she didn't claim to be a magician, but she did give me truth and followed through with the results that she said. This stylist is one of a kind. I felt good for the first time in a long time about my decisions, MY decisions about my hair. If you are ready for the real deal then I suggest you see Angie at Shampu.

I recently became a customer of Erik and I give Shampu the highest rating because his service, attention to detail, and the high-quality of his hairstyles is top of the line. I have become an enthusiastic regular customer of Erik and each visit is a pleasure. Erik is a Hairstylist Extradonaire.
