I tool gently used cloth including some with tags on it to Plato in flower mound, the girl told me to walk around and will call me. after 10 minutes she said she is getting only one pair of shoes ($6 for $40 original price) the rest is for more mature age! Here come the funny part: the cloth I took were abercrombie, Aeropostal, American eagle and Bebe with additional cute stuff from Macy's junior section and Marshall's. There was only one work attire!.. And my Abercrombie flip flop that I just put in a bag on way in went missing when I got back home!! I will never go there again, if u do..guard your stuff.

This was the absolute worse experience at a store I have ever had!!!! The sales staff was beyond rude (try shopping on Rodeo Drive in Pretty Woman) with absolutely no reason to be. They rejected True Religion jeans and cargoes (p.s. Vogue has as an "in" item this season). Not to mention, they were sent down numerous run-ways and they had the audacity to say that the clothes were out of style!! Stay away unless you enjoy being treated like s**t by ignorant individuals!!!

Before going into Plato's Closet, do a lil research before you decide that you think you might get what you had anticipated on "designer clothes." Plato's Closet is a gently-used, young adult and teen clothing store. They take pretty much anything that is a mall name brand that is current within the past 18 months. The franchise targets YOUNG ADULTS & TEENS. So, when people decide that they are going to take in their ella moss or whatever, think about it. If the girls that are buying them reject your designer clothes, they prolly did it because other teens haven't heard of the brand and it's not going to sell in the store. And if they do buy it, there's a matrix that the franchise has provided as a guideline to pricing items.
However, on the other note, today was a terrible experience. As I walk though the door, the place was crammed. When I say crammed, I was literally crammed and didn't have any space to move/walk around to shop. No one greeted me and the girls were talking about life at the cash register. Also, there were lack of inventory and not very much to choose from... and I heard that Plano makes the big bucks...

BUT! I was so disappointed about walking out empty handed. As I was walking to my car, I heard some young girls talking about a location in McKinney. Seriously, yall gotta check it out! It's so much bigger, and every time you walk through that door, someone WILL greet you!! You can breathe a sigh of relief because you don't have to feel so claustrophobic as you're shopping because there's room. The employees are so nice and will direct you to a specific location if you're look for something in particular. Seriously people, don't get discouraged about the Plano location. The atmosphere is totally different when you go to McKinney. GO THERE!

I have tried a couple of different platos closets to try and sell some of my high end designer clothing. They rejected my armani jeans, true religions, ralph lauren polos, ed hardy tee etc. and as I browsed around while they looked through my things I saw no boundaries and mossimo...i guess they accept walmart and target brands over designers!

This would be the last place I would even consider taking my clothes. The sales associates do not how to provide customer service or even to keep people's clothes in the order that they arrived. If you are a young young teen like between the ages of 13-16 then this is the place for you to go and sell you clothes because they will probably actually pay you are little attention. I have been in teh store several times and every time it took them almost 45min. to even look at my clothes despite the fact that there was only 1 or 2 other people in the store. They claim to buy gently used name brand clothes, but in all actuality they buy faded clothes and have no clue what a name brand is. Another point is that if you are over the age of 19 don't even think about stepping foot inside. I recently had some clothes I was wanting to sell, but I didn't have the time to drive all the way out to this location so my mom offered to do it for me. Well, it took them over an hour to look at the clothes and young girls who came in after her were given priority. Whenever my mother asked when it would be her turn the so called customer service person said, "ma'm you're just going to have to wait." When it finally was her turn they only gave her $10, now granted I know that all of my clothes were probably not up to their standards, but seriously $10 and their so called excuse was they smelled. Now to top it off after I heard this, I took the same exact clothes back to the very same location and guess what they bought some of them without any hesitation. Now I don't know if this is consider discrimination, but it sounds like it to me. My overrall experience with this place has been horrible and I would not suggest it to anyone.

I have attempted to sell clothes/accessories at this place several times. Every time it was pointless for me to take the time out of my life and pick out which clothes are worthy for this store, then drive all the way out there and then wait only for them to say that they will only give $5 dollars. The sales associates have no clue how to provide customer service or how to pick which clothes should be bought from customers. And the summarization that this store is, "teen conscious consignment store," which apparently only,"buys and sellsname brand clothes ata discount, from Forever 21." These people wouldn't know what a name brand was even if it bit them in their you know what. I would NOT advise anyone to even consider taking their used closed to this place. They are rude and incompetent!!!!

If you have clothing that you want to sell other than Bebe or Abercrombie I suggest taking it to an actual resale shop (ie. Highland Park, North Dallas). At least there employees have knowledge of brands on Madison Avenue/Fifth Ave. I worked as an assistant buyer for one of the nation's most prestigious department stores and took many of my clothes here to sell because I didn't to wait at a consignment store. The clueless clerk rejected a Marc Jacobs shirt from the prior season because she had never heard of the designer!!! Same with Laundry Shelli Segal and a few Ella Moss shirts. I suggest their employees tour a mall other than Stonebriar or Collin Creek, that way they'll know what real Designer brands are!!!

Editorial from

This teen-conscious consignment shop buys and sells name brands at a discount, from Forever 21 to Skechers to Sean John to Diesel.
