A great place to buy anything for your windows!

by satisfiedandhappy

The Curtain Exchange is a large store on Huff Road amongst the West Side Design District. The minute I walked in the door I was greeted by a very polite sales consultant who gave me the "low down" on what they have to offer and their "try them before you buy them" curtain policy. This is a one stop curtain store and they have all the traditional decorative finials, hardware, wooden and wrought iron rods. I was also interested in ordering a set of Hunter Douglas blinds for my bathroom. They have custom bedding that you can match to your curtains. WOW...pretty cool! I was blown away by all of the custom ready-made curtains they had hanging on the walls...the full wall of custom samples from which to order. I love their samples because they are large so you can actually see the repeat patterns. OMG! There must have been several hundred or so....I told her that I was not ready to buy just yet and there was definitely no pressure. As a matter of fact, I made multiple trips to the store and checked out numerous curtain panels to hang in my house prior to buying. In addition, the experience was nice, economical and much better than the custom curtains that I have ordered from catalogs in the past. The really nice thing is that you get a chance to see them hanging in your house before spending your dollars.

Pros: You can try the curtains out before you buy!

Cons: My visits have always been positive ones!

Best Curtain Selection Around!

by sandyplains

I visited The Curtain Exchange today after having seen their Ad in The Veranda magazine last week. I immediately was drawn to a beautful silk curtain called "Duck Egg" blue. It is the perfect shade of blue for the guest bedroom that I want to decorate and just what I was looking for. I was excited when they told me they could do custom bedding. I was able to take the curtain home on a two day trial period to see if it was exactly what I wanted. They were able to help me with my hardware also. The store has a large selection of curtains. Everyone was very helpful.

Pros: I could take the curtain home for a two day trial period before purchasing.

Best all round product and price! Great customer service!!

by catereronthego

I like this store! It has everything that I need to decorate the windows in my house. Convenience is a big part of my life since I run a catering company and when the day is over, I like to come home and relax in my surroundings. I don't have time to run around during the day, clip samples, then figure out who I can find to make my curtains. My time is very important to me and I want to come home to everything in its place. I was able to take the curtains home and try them out before I bought them. I also needed hardware and their sales people helped me with my window measurements and also with choosing the correct style of rod to go with my new curtains. They were able to come and install the drapes for me. I've have had customs curtains made before and I know how long it takes and how much it costs. The styles and prices at this store are unbeatable! Thanks for all of your help.

Pros: Great help!

Glam & Easy

by Walkermom

Lots of places have gorgeous silk fabrics and curtains, but you stil have to order from a swatch. The Curtain Exchange lets you "check out" actual panels, which are easy to hang on your window so that you can see what your actual curtain will look like. For someone like me, who has a hard time visualizing, it's a lifesaver. I took home three pairs before I finally made a choice, and they were very patient every time. I love my new curtains. They really updated our dining room. The fabrics are very luxurious, and the curtains are much better made than those you get from catalogues. If you're lucky enough to be able to use one of the consignment treatments (many leftover from designer showhouses), you can get some of the most expensive fabrics available at bargain prices. Great service too.

Draperies made easy.

by serge_a_storms

Great destination. Neighborhood has more than 50 home furnishing stores. Blown away the minute you walk in the door. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful. I took three things out and WOW did it make a difference. My loft ceilings were not a problem. Pieces of fabric taped to the wall-never again.

Pros: Service

Cons: Limited selection
