We love this vet. All the vets here have been so professional... including the women. I suppose if you are a pessimist looking for bad things, you'll find them no matter what, but I'm not. When I was a kid, we saw Hunter Sr. for our pets.

I wish there was an option for zero stars. I was referred here by a friend who told me Dr. Hunter was the best, but that he could come across as rude. Well, he did come across as rude, but I went again anyway figuring I can deal with his attitude as long as he's a good vet. The next time I saw one of his associates for my cat's rabies shot. My kitty had lost 40% of her weight, and I asked the dr. if I needed to make a follow-up appointment to find out what was causing the weight loss. She said it was nothing to worry about and said I didn't need to do anything. Well, I took her somewhere else because that is a LOT of weight to lose and I wanted another opinion. It turned out she had severe thyroid disease and heart disease and wouldn't have lived much longer without treatment. I have no idea how he gets voted ""best vet"" over and over again.

If this is the best vet clinic in town I would hate to see the worst. It is dingy, smelly, and the people are rude. The vet talks down to you and doesn't seem like she knows anything. We are NEVER going back!!!! This is a less than 1 star place but they don't give you that option.

My family and I took our new puppy in for a free exam. We used to take our old dog there when I was a kid and know about how sometimes you have to wait and weren't worried about it. So we checked in and waited. There were only 2 other people there and after about 1/2 hour someone came out and sat down and waited. She said they were waiting for some ear medicatoins for her dog. And we all waited some more. Finally someone brought the stuff out and gave it to her. We finally got called in and OMG the doctor was RUDE and didn't act like she wanted to be there at all (at this point, neither did we). She went through the exam, talked about shots and worming and how they might want to test our puppy's poop and all. Asked if we are going to spay her and when we weren't sure she acted like we were committing some kind of crime, that there are alot of unwanted dogs out there. We didn't say a hole lot, just wanted to get out of there. Her attitude SUCKED and we didn't go there for a lecture. Place has changed alot since my family used to go there and we are going someplace else from now on, may even call the pet store and tell them they might want to recommend a different place for people to go.

I went in with my girl friend whose cat was not feeling well. The woman that saw her was rude and didn't really listen when we tried to tell her what was going on. She started spouting off thiings that it could be or not be, what we should do, but maybe we wouldn't do. She didn't act like she knew what the hell she was talking about. We finally agreed on ""basic bloodwork"" and she kept trying to get us to run a whole lot more tests that we didn't feel she needed. She was indoors her whole life and never met another cat in the wild so we really didn't want the ""feline tests"" . After arguing with us for a few minutes she had the tech grab our cat and take her away. They finally came back and told us they got the blood even though she was wiggly. I asked if there was a reason they couldn't get blood in front of us as our cat is rarely away from home and the other clinic we had gone to didn't have a problem doing it with us in the room. She said it's just easier for the cat. We went up front to pay and waited to hear from them the next day. Dr. Copley called and said the bloodwork was all normal but if she still was not acting like herself we should run the other blood tests. We took our cat to a different clinic and they diagnosed her with a bad tooth, they took it out and now she's back to her old self. We will not be going back to Hunter vet and by the way, there were 6 puncture marks on our little girl's throat, so hell no we won't be back.

We have been going there for several years now and they have always given us the very best of care. When we had to put our older kitty down they talked us explained to us what would happen, offered and made a pawprint for us, and sent us a lovely card. The staff was compassionate and Dr. Brandi was even crying after all she had done for our baby. We now take our new pup there and wouldn't go anywhere else.

Pros: Great Doctors and Staff

Cons: Sometimes the wait

I took my dog here because she was throwing up and very lathargic. He said that she just had a virus,. I took her home and that night she got worse,so back to him the next morning. I told them I thought she had been poisoned, and she needed to be put down. They put me in a room with her and I sat there for over an hour waIting for them to come in to put her down (listening to her crying in pain the whole time). When they finally came in, there was no compassion nothing. They gave her the shot, made sure she was gone and walked out. It was the worst experience I have ever had at a vet office. I wouldn't take any of my animals there ever again.

I was very nervious being I've had no experiance with getting a horse gelded. And my regular vet doesn't do large animals. So I had to call in a new vet I didn't know at all, to do a major procedure. (I was so scared and worried about my boy I was crying!!!!) Dr. Gutting took his time explained everything and waited till he came completly back too. He did a great job. I know this vet doesn't do horses but this is where Dr. Gutting works and he does them on his days off and emergancy service. Thanks for a great job doctor!!!!!

If I could choose zero stars, I would...\r\n\r\nOur small dog was attacked by another and we were referred to Hunter Vet Clinic unfortunately. They cared for her, stitched her up and sent her home. Things were okay until we got concerned that the stitches were in too long. We called and even took her in. They said things were fine. Again, a few days later, we took her in because we were extremely concerned. Things did not look right. Come to find out that her skin starting decaying right on her back. And what did they do? They removed the skin and sent her home without it bandaged or covered. The poor thing had gone through so much and for them to send her home with part of her back left exposed (without skin!)...well that was unbelievable. We should've taken action at the time, but didn't. We were in shock and horrified. We ended up taking her to another vet that had to keep her overnight, pull her skin together and stitch her up. After that, her back was never the same. She couldn't stand straight. \r\n\r\nI am amazed at the good reviews this clinic gets. I would NEVER, NEVER recommend these people to anyone. \r\n\r\nBE EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS about these people.

I can say from experience that Hunter Veterinary is a great place to go whether your animal is ill or just for routine care. Not only are the staff friendly but they are also very meticulant in their upkeep. The office itself offers many magazines, samples, and products highly regarded for purchase. They are cozy and very friendly. Not only am I going to have this be my normal vetrinary clinic but I wouldn't consider any other.
