I had a bad experience at La Belle at Stanford a few years ago. I was in having a massage and when I came out all the lights were out - yes, they forgot about me and didn't apologize. On top of that I didn't get their "signature" foot soak in the waiting room. All around disappointing, especially since they are not cheap!

I was treated to a makeup for a special event and was a bit apprehensive because I did not want to look "made-up". The make-up artist at LaBelle really listened to what I wanted and she did a wonderful job. Everyone complimented me on how I looked (no direct makeup comments) which to me is what I was going for. There was no pressure to buy product.

PROS: pleasant experience
CONS: none that I saw

I went to this particular Labelle spa for facials three times. Each time, I asked for a different person to do the facial because I felt so uncomfortable about the hard-sell for LaBelle skincare products at the end of the facial. After the third try, I gave up. Too much of a hard-sell and it just wasn't worth it. Isn't going to a spa about being relaxed? I've found a much better place now and won't ever go back to LaBelle. The actual facial was satisfactory, but the overall experience was less so...
