I have lived here for and can give you an truthful opinion. The apartments are nice but the management is HORRIBLE, I have an awful taste in my mouth and am buying out my lease. Here is my experiance:

When I first moved here I was quoted a good rate, and wrote a check. My check was cashed. When I went in to finalize the paperwork the price was $250 more for a smaller apartment. They said they had no record of the quote they had first given me.. Luckily I still had my copy. Later I was told they had water damage in an apt and had moved someone else to the apt I had signed for and were just trying to stick it to me. Since they had cashed my check and I had the paperwork I retained a lawyer and they decided to honor the first quote.

Fast forward. I wanted to move to a 2 bedroom, I go and get a quote for a price, and that night drop a check in the night box for the new deposit. I get a call two days later saying that the quote was incorrect and that they had just gotten my check and it was 30 hours later and the quote was only good for 24 hours. Oh, and the price is now over $300 more.

I was $6 short on paying water+rent (water varies) one month and I got my check slipped under my door 3 days later saying they could not accept partial payment, and oh by the way it is late now and I owe an extra $70.

Dogs regularly defecate in the hallways and it takes about a week to clean up. I also had an ant problem for a week before they did anything about it.

Internet and TV are through captive providers. Internet is Yignition and runs at 56k speeds. I could never play games or watch netflix/any online show. Cable you have to sign a two year agreement with Direct TV or no tv for you.

The management acts like tenants are a bother and a sponge to squeeze money out of. I have never been treated so poorly or been jerked around so much. Word of warning, I am buying out my lease. And that sucks because I like the location and the Dart proximity.

I moved out of this place last month. I made numerous complains regarding neighbors partying deep into the night on numerous occasions and nothing was ever done about it. Also, a bar that is part of the phase II building has attracted quite a following among posers who enjoy riding around on Harleys and acting like they're part of the Hells Angels. When the bar closes, they drive down the road the goes through phase II making as much noise as humanly possible.

Upon moving out, I was billed several hundred dollars for damage that was actually done by Eastside's maintenance workers.

Don't move in here unless you hate sleeping or enjoy somebody trying to screw you out of a couple hundred bucks after you've had enough of the noise and moved out.

Pros: None that I can think of

Cons: Loud neighbors, loud pedestrian traffic

My husband and I were required to put up an additional deposit the day we came to pick up the keys because we "did not meet their income requirements." I was furious--actually still am. Their high-pressure leasing tactics and sign the lease TODAY and lock into a price is ludicrous since most individuals need to turn in and honor their move out notice. We had provided check stubs when we put in the application. The apartment we were leased was not the one we were shown and the young man that had spoken with us through November and December is no longer in the office. We were shown a unit facing the courtyard which was less noisy than an exterior unit facing K Avenue or Municipal. We were also given the amount the rental would cost per month and let them know we would not be available to come in and sign the lease for 2-3 days. When we came in to sign the lease, we were told it would be $67 more because the number we were given was only good for the day we were quoted---BLEKH. I've watched them do this same thing several times in the office when I've gone in to pick up packages.

We were here the day Advanced Foundations came out??not sure what kind of foundation issues the building is having, but there are some heaves in the foundation and our upper floor unit has several areas where it??s more than obvious there is a height difference.

Also, no one told us or informed us of the nightmare we would go through to try to get cable and internet installed. IF we had a balcony or patio we could get DirecTV through AT&T or Verizon. Since we only have windows on an upper floor, our only option is DirecTV through AT&T. IF we want On Demand, it's an additional $199 for the HD DVR receiver, but High Def is not available for purchase at all PERIOD then we pay the high def receiver rental fee of $24.99/month--even though high def is not available at the complex. IF we wanted highspeed internet our ONLY options were DSL via AT&T or Verizon and would be forced to have a home phone (which we haven't had or used for 15 years) in order to get the DSL, or run a T1 cable through Ygnition. We reluctantly opted for Verizon cable and internet. When Verizon got here, we were informed they couldn't hook up satellite cable because we didn't have a balcony or patio to hook up the DirecTV, so we had to go to AT&T through their rooftop satellite. Verizon came in and got the phone going, but after not getting the data light to come on the modem, the Verizon technician called their 800 tech department. After nearly two hours of enduring a major language barrier, he couldn't get the data light to receive on the DSL, so we cancelled the service completely (or so I thought until I called Verizon a week later and was informed I still had service--NOT). We called Ygnition the next morning and had the T1 cable installed and it WON'T effectively my husband or son to play EverQuest or World of Warcraft & definitely not both at the same time.

Eastside Village Apartments has a wide variety of apartment sizes and various locations around downtown Plano. All of the people at the business office are happy to help and knowledgeable. They are near many restaurants, businesses, arts, as well as medical and dental offices. They also have nice work out facilities.
