I purchased a 2005 Dodge Stratus with cash money from Bill Hood on 10/1/09. I took it back on Friday 10/2/09 at the salesman request to have it detailed and a complimentary tank of gas. During the detailing process the salesman had an accident in the vehicle. They offered me two vehicles that in my opinion didn't come close to what I had purchased so I felt I was losing out. They also offered my money back, but I refused it until I spoke with my insurance company. The problem is that I got a very nice deal on the vehicle and I am not sure I would get another great deal with the same money, so I didn't want a refund. Right now, I just think they are going after the other driver to have the car repaired, but for some reason they are adamant about me not being involved in this account. I think they are pushing to have the car totaled, but I looked at the car and it's just the front finder and fiberglass bumper. What would you do?

The horror story starts like this....
I brought my 96 Ford Mustang in to have the clutch changed. The mechanics confirmed that it was the clutch, so I left the car for about a week. After "fixing" the problem and almost $1,100 later I was back on the road.
About 2 weeks later the car started to "jump", "shutter", and "shake" after shifting from the first gear. I brought the car back to Bill Hood, they looked at it, and said it was "not their problem." So I brought the car into Banner Ford (Mandeville), who looked at the problem and confirmed it was in fact the clutch because the work had been done incorrectly. I went back to Bill Hood with this information and they dismissed it as incorrect - even though it was from a certified tech. and the ONLY way they could confirm it was their fault was to charge me labor to take the clutch back out and look at it!!
I would NEVER suggest bringing a vehicle to or purchasing anything from them as I am sure the incompetence is systemic. This is by far the worst service I have ever received.
PROS: None
CONS: Completely incompetent, unreasonable, inconsiderate, and unfriendly
