Seven and a half years ago as an infant, my first child started attending PPMA at age 8 weeks and went through pre-school there. My entire experience with PPMA was outstanding! She was very well-cared for, genuinely loved and educated to the highest standards. Five months ago I had my second child, and although my family had moved out of Plano, I knew without a doubt where I would take my baby when I had to start back to work. Many of the same teachers, including the head infant teacher, are still on staff and the owner/director welcomed us with open arms. She and her staff are like family to us. With so many hours per week in their care, I credit them for helping me raise my kids. I know my baby is in the best hands, and knowing that made going back to work so much easier. In PPMA's care, your child will be closely monitored, fed on schedule, diapered regularly, taught according to age-appropriate needs, and cared for in a clean and safe environment. Even potty training is accelerated with their diligent efforts. I honestly cannot imagine raising a child without PPMA.

I recently moved from Florida to Plano and spent 2 weeks searching for the best place to take my 3 year old son. Some of the centers i visited i wouldnt have left my dog with. I came across Preston Park Montessori Academy and have been amazed at the love, care and teaching they they give. The person below must not have taken her kids to daycare because you always have to give a 2 week notice.
My son is happy every morning and when i pick him up everyday that is what matters most to be.
Lol and i have to comment again regarding the lady 2 posts down about kids crying at nap time.....my son cries when i put him down for nap.....so regarding ratios this has nothing to do with it...we are talking about 2-3 and 4 yr olds.

I would like to comment on the review below. Its really unfair of the parent talking about not getting a refund of tuition.,which is actually recieved it.
After getting your child enrolled, and then disenrolling the child, none of the school gives the tuition back.
Atleast the parent should be happy, that they recieved a portion back.

I have an 18mnth old and a 5 yr old. We visited with Preston Park Montessori for 2 days(a Thursday and Friday) before deciding to go full-time the next week. Three days into the first week, I began to feel it was not a good fit for us. Unfortunately, I had paid on the first day for the whole month (4 weeks). By Thursday of the first week, I decided to find a different place and let them know that we wished to withdraw. They said there was a notice period of 2 weeks to withdraw (which was somewhere in the Handbook but I didnot know). They said they would let me know if they could refund my money the week after. The second week, I call a couple of times and the director was out so no decision could be made. The third week i call a couple of times and they said they would refund the money but since it had already been deposited, could I please wait a week. The fourth week I call a couple or more times, and they finally tell me that they cannot refund the money except for ONE week. Note that for 4 weeks they did not have the courtesy to return my calls and I had to hound them and leave numbers and messages. They kept me waiting for 4 weeks and then decided they would charge me for the ONE week my 2 kids were actually there (which is fair) and for TWO weeks that they weren't (notice period). Not a small amount of money for 2 children!!!!!

Few things about the daycare itself....The teachers have been here a long time and food is fresh and cooked onsite. The preschoolers are well taught. They do watch TV for 30 minutes on Fridays, even the toddlers. I felt the toddler room was very small and crowded for the number of kids in there. I was told the toddler room ratio would be 2:12. I walked in during naptime one day and saw 1 teacher and 17(or more) kids sleeping on mats on the floor with several of them crying. I know this is allowed in the state minimum but i paid for my child to be looked after 1/6th of the time. Parents need to know that they will switch between their advertised ratios and state minimums when convenient (to them).

Extremely unhappy with the way they handled this. We have been to at least four other daycares (all NAEYC Accredited) in other states and every one of them has been willing to go out of their way to work with the parents.

Update:
@Aimee: I was talking about an 18 month old (not 2,3 or 4 yr olds). I wasn't concerned about the kids crying...my concern was about the NUMBER of kids herded into that tiny room like cattle. It will matter, come an emergency and there's 1 teacher and 18 sleeping infants who don't even talk yet. So ratios do matter (to me at least).

And as to the amount of money involved...what irritated me was that they TOLD ME I WOULD BE REFUNDED and then waited 3 weeks to tell me I would only get a week's money back.
Everyone hopes as a parent that you have made the right choice when it comes to something like daycare. However, sometimes things don't work out. I'm very happy with where they are now.

@Miss Reva - Sure, I'm happy you decided to give me a small portion of my hard earned money (not even a third of what I paid)!!!! And after a month of keeping me waiting! Next time, please let them know upfront. It will be easier to deal with the loss.

My children have been going to PPMA for years and love it! We love the teachers and administrators, especially Ms. Pam. The curriculum is top notch and they even offer vegetarian meals. We don't allow our children to drink juice or have sugar and the school was happy help. This is the only school in the area that we have found that allowed us to make special dietary requests based on health. We are very excited about the recent change to uniforms which makes the morning so much easier. Thank you PPMA for lovng the children and always doing what is right.

Just wanted to post our experience with this Montessori academy. Our daughter has been attending this academy since she was 3 months old. She is now 3 years old and it seems that every day our daughter exceeds our expectations. My wife and I both work full time jobs and are not able to spend as much time to teach her or to challenge her development. The program that Preston Park Montessori offers, involve the children in early development. Teaching them concepts, ideas, memory, association and comprehension. Not to mention that each of her teachers and the staff have always been compassionate and caring people that value each family. We are expecting another baby in March of 2012 and will be trusting Preston Park Montessori with the caring and teaching of our newest member of the family. I can truly say that Preston Park Montessori has set really high standards and I don't know that I can find a better place for my children here in Plano.

An extremely pleased parent,

I have had nothing but a very good experience with this school. The teachers are amazing; kind, affectionate, and helpful.

The school is owned by a wonderful Indian lady and many teachers are Indian, Muslim, Hispanic, and African American. Others are white. I have seen pregnant teachers and mothers at this school face no different treatment except that others bless them or say "God's grace" as they walk by. Among the parents, I've seen old/young/rich/poor/fat/thin/gay/straight/white/brown/religious/atheist/WHATEVER all treated well by every member of the PPMA team.

When I read the post alleging discrimination I thought it must be a joke or a red herring from a bitter competitor. PPMA is a haven of tolerance and acceptance. And it's also a great school. They've helped me build a foundation of learning, manners and patience in my child that is priceless. I am so grateful to have found this school and sent my child there.

And on the health issue, I do not know any details of food or cleanliness, but I have popped in many times over the years during lunch or snack time and I've always observed a hygienic environment. Also, my child is now 5, has attended this school all her life and has only been sick enough to take antibiotics one time in her entire life. So I do not have any concerns about this school being unhealthy for her.

I have worked in many child care centers and this school if you want to call it that is VERY unprofessional! They discriminate on white and pregnant people! All of the office staff is indian and rude. The director told me that they save the lunch and give it to the after school kids as a dinner around 3: 30. OK! Lunch is served at 11 at the daycare so they save it untill 3:30 and give left over lunch to the school age kids? GROSS!! They also are very unorganized! I would not reccomend this place to parents or to look for employment as I am pregnant and they were very rude to me and told me that me being pregnant was a PROBLEM. Yes a problem for them because of maternity leave I am sure.

We've been sending our child (now almost 3 years) for a few months here. Seems like something or the other has happened there in our experience. She's had scratch marks on her arm which they were unable to explain; she wasn't advanced to the next level class for no reason while all the other kids were; she came home sick often, or with a fever. I know there will always be issues at schools, but we've reached our limits now with this one and are going to pull her out.

After finding my seventeen month old son being sadly neglected at another facility, I was in despair about having to send him back into childcare. We were referred to Preston Park by a friend after having an absolutely horrible experience at an over-priced and uncaring school. I went to Preston Park concerned, stressed out, and (quite honestly) a bit traumatized when it came to childcare facilities. I was so worried about leaving my vulnerable child in the care of strangers, but by the time I left Preston Park Montessori all of fears had been laid to rest. Not only did the owner, Ms. Pam, clearly love all of the students under her care, she spoke to me as a mother about the importance of creating a safe and loving learning environment for children. I was so excited to find a school where the children in the classrooms were engaged in learning and happy! Ms. Pam was even kind enough to make special financial arrangements for us to help my son to start the next week so that I did not have to send him back to his old school.

He has been at Preston Park for several months now and is back to being the happy boy he was before entering the "bad school." He (along with every child I see in the morning) is happy when I drop him off for the day and happy when I pick him up. He has learned so much in the short amount of time that he has been at Preston Park. He is counting to ten, knows his colors, and is able to identify multiple shapes and animals (as well as the sounds that they make)!

The staff at Preston Park all know my son by name and Ms. Heena, the director, is friendly, helpful and greets each child by name in the morning with a smile. There is a sense of family and community at Preston Park that is not found in all schools. They recently hosted a beautiful Fall Festival for the parents and students that included catered meals, games, a train ride, bounce house, ballon artist, and face-painting. I know this is a long post, but I simply can't say enough good things about this school! As a mother and a teacher, I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a safe, loving, and nurturing educational environment for their child!

Our 2 1/2 year old has been at Preston Park for 6 months now. In one day we visited 6 schools/daycare facilities and as soon as we walked into Preston Park my husband and I knew it was perfect for our son. It is clean, the children were so well behaved and HAPPY. The teachers were on the floor playing with the children and we knew he would do well. In the time has has been there, we have noticed a dramatic change. His vocabulary and fine motor skills are amazing. He has no problem with independent play. He loves going to school, he loves his teachers and he is excited to show us what he learns every day. Ms. Pam knows every child and parent and we have always felt comfortable asking any questions and even for special provisions. He hasn't been sick one time since enrolling, which is a huge change from his last school where he was sent home 2-3 times a month because he would catch whatever the other children brought in. I can't even express how happy we are with PPM and we can go to work 100% confident that our son is not just being watched, he is being nurtured and loved.

My daughter started at PPMA when she was 8 weeks old. It was so tough to leave her, but everyone at PPMA was so great and helped to make she and our family comfortable. She is now 5 1/2 months old and has been in Ms Amy's class the whole time. Ms Amy and Ms Julia are fantastic teachers, and I can tell how much they care about my daughter and the other babies in their class. She is happy when I drop her off, and all smiles when I pick her up. I trust her completely with Ms Amy, and am confident that she is in wonderful hands all day. She is learning and thriving, and I attribute much of that to PPMA.??

i have read the positive and negative things written about ppma. the truth is written in black and white on the state site that regulates all schools. ppma has been cited for serious violations. the ppma staff are not villians but people who have made mistakes, albeit mistakes involving precious children. it's up to the parents to do their homework and decide on their own. i don't think the other schools are bad-mouthing ppma. that shows insecurity on ppma's part to assume this.

i have read the positive and negative things written about ppma. the truth is written in black and white on the state site that regulates all schools. ppma has been cited for serious violations. the ppma staff are not villians but people who have made mistakes, albeit mistakes involving precious children. it's up to the parents to do their homework and decide on their own. i don't think the other schools are bad-mouthing ppma. that shows insecurity on ppma's part to assume this.

My family was given an outstanding recommendation to PCMA from two Dallas Police Officer's. We enrolled our 5 month old- who is now 18 months and has moved through three classrooms- all great experiences. We find the staff loving, friendly, and respectful to the parents and children. We feel blessed to have found such a loving and caring environment for our child.

My daughter has attended PPMA for 3 years, since she was 6 months old. It is a loving environment and I have no concerns about the school whatsoever. Many of my friends and neighbors have sent their children to PPMA over the years and I have never heard a complaint from any parent regarding PPMA.

Ms. Pam and the wonderful staff are caring and make each child feel like part of the family. PPMA's status as a non-franchise facility means that Ms. Pam can operate her school as is best for each child/family without a corporate big brother mandating inflexible rules. The quality food, teaching, caring and attention given by the PPMS staff to the children is limiteless.

My 4 year old daughter has attended PPMA since she was 8 weeks old. She and I LOVE this school, the teachers, and the administrators. I highly recommend PPMA to any parent looking for a SAFE, LOVING, CLEAN, LEARNING-CENTERED school for your kids. I regularly have other adults tell me how impressed they are with my daughter's skill level and that her school must be really teaching her. Our kids are our future and I believe that Ms. Pam and her staff are highly-skilled and have our kids' best interests at heart!

My son and daughter started PPMA 2 months ago, and we can only say wonderful things about it. I love the focus on academics and structure while still maintaining a fun environment. They provide lots of love and nurturing for all the children. Both my children are happy, loved and well cared for. As a parent, these are the things that matter to me and PPMA excels at all of them.

My son started at PPMA two months ago when he was 6 months old. He had been in our home with a nanny before that, and I was worried about sending him "out in the world". However, the transition was very easy. I feel so good about PPMA. The teachers in his classroom know him so well - even the particular toys that he likes to play with. They are warm, loving and attentive. I've popped in at various times during the day, and am always pleased with what I walk in to.
The owner, Ms. Pam, greets us in the mornings - she knows all the children (and most parents) by name. She is always available for chats and I would feel very comfortable voicing concerns to her - although I've never had any.
The school is looks and smells fresh and clean, and there is lots of natural light throughout.

My 20 month old twins have been at Preston Park for a month and they love it! I am amazed at how much they have already learned. They are saying colors, numbers, parts of the alphabet, and even painting. Their teachers are so loving and do a phenomenal job at positive reinforcement. The staff also does an extraordinary job at creating a secure, clean, and happy environment for the children.

My two sons absolutely love PPMA, and so do their parents! The atmosphere is professional, warm, caring, compassionate, and educational. Ms. Pam, Ms. Heena, Ms. Janette, and Ms.Sayeeda know all of the parents and children by name, so safety and security are present. The facility is clean and organized, just like the classrooms. My children run to the hugs of the administrative staff and teachers each day; they can't wait to see them! The teachers are professional and well-trained, guiding and teaching children in everything from daily manners and social skills to lessons about tornadoes and volcanoes. Everyday is exciting for our entire family! As always, there must be discipline, and each time discipline has been handled with dignity and understanding for each individual child. Due to transportation issues, our family recently had to leave PPMA. What a sad day! However, the caring spirit of PPMA continues because we have received two phone calls from PPMA to check on our family. Ms. Pam and her entire staff really care about children.

Great presentation BUT total lack of accountability which is unacceptable when any child is endangered. There is a history. Don't do it! You should check any childcare facility on the state website before entrusting them with your children. You will be glad you did. Those that had positive experiences should count their blessings, it's a numbers game here and you were lucky your child wasn't that number. Daycare shouldn't be a numbers game.

My 2 1/2 year old has been attending PPM since she was 6 months old and I have nothing but good things to say about the school. It is clean and bright and not cramped. There are separate playgrounds for smaller and larger children, and the outdoor play areas are covered to protect my child's skin from the sun. The teachers and staff give my child affection and guidance as if she were their own child. They have events to keep the year interesting, including seasonal festivals, biannual professional photographer/portrait visits, 'parents night out', flexibility if both parents have to work late, an actual teaching curriculum and generous and healthy menus for the kids. They reinforce all that I seek to teach my child; from academics (ABC's, color, numbers, etc) to table manners to music and games. I could not be happier. The owner is almost always there and all of the staff knows each child and the parents of each child by name. It is my child's home away from home and I could not ask for more.

My daughter has been going to this school since she was 18-months old (now she is 3 1/2 years old). I particularly wanted to thank the management and the teachers because they keep the school open, as much as they could. Most daycares have been closed since Monday, December 22nd. What can you do, if you have to go to work? I appreciate this service. Also, I want to say something about the quality of their service and care. I have to admit that in the past there were things that I complained about. And the management listened to my feedback and handled the problem. I think it is important that they are open to feedback. But actually, the strongest assurance comes from my daughter: She not only goes to school happily, but also she comes home and does "role playing" every single day (seriously). What I mean by this is that she imitates and plays at home whatever happens that day at school. So, I can follow everything, and I have not observed anything -even slightly - disturbing or bothering. On the contrary: I only observe the acts of loving teachers and caregivers. She even acts the moments of "discipline", which involves a conversation with Miss Pam(as my daughter mimics), but nothing else. I do not think that there could be a better feedback than her little play. Since my daughter started to play this game, I feel particularly better about this school. I would recommend the school to other parents. Thank you, PPMA!

I am in three daycare schools weekly. PPMA is the cleanest school I attend. Their loving discipline is easy to spot and their devotion to the kids is so key to a successful school.

Many "extra events" for the kids make them excited to be at school. Do not hesitate to send your child to this school!

After reading all these reviews I started to send my son (18 months old) to this daycare. I should have known that the reviews were too good to be true. On the third day, he came back home with nail marks on his arms. The marks were not that of a child (it has to be of the caregiver??s). We did not make it a big issue and gave them the benefit of the doubt. But then my son gets viral fever the next day so we did not send him for a week. When I dropped him the following week he throws up so we decided to keep him for that week. We also noticed that since he had runny nose, he was not cleaned up for a long time. Following Monday my son was let to cry for a long time and he throws up. On Tuesday when I went to drop my son I heard one of the caregiver "Jessica" say "Oh My God, here he is". Once I heard that remark we knew that my son is not taken care of and they are not interested in taking care of him. That day was his last day. That afternoon I and my husband went to Miss Pam (the director) to talk about taking my son out of the daycare - she tried to explain to us that kids take time to adjust and it will be better to let him stay for couple of weeks. But as soon as we mentioned about the nail marks that he got in his 1st week, she immediately became defensive and was almost happy to see us go. She said that she can give us the year-end tax statement and immediately deleted us from their system in front of us.
During walkthrough, they said what a best place it was but that is not at all true. They do have a well-maintained property so their show and tell is impressive but don??t fall for that as we did. I was very disappointed with PPMA. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

My child has been attending Preston Park Montessori Academy for 2 years. Ms. Pam has shown the ability to be a competent and effective leader in her operation. Ms. Pam has an open door policy and is readily available for parents and children. The staff at PPMA are very friendly and appropriate with the children and parents. The staff knows all of the children by name as well as parents. The facility is very clean and have safety measures in place. My child has excelled in her learning and is well advanced for her age. I am very impressed with the curriculum that is being taught and the love for children that the staff demonstrates daily. If you would focus all this energy on building your business the right way like Ms. Pam has, you would have so much more success. The time you're spending writing these hateful, untruths could be re-directed into time spent on something positive and productive like improving your own operation, loving on your kids, cleaning toys, getting to know your customers, something!! Furthermore, there is no way PPMA's business could be growing so rapidly if the things you said were true. Don't you think these parents like me who love this school are smart enough and care enough about our kids to notice the signs if there were any foul play? Lastly, I am going to pray for you and ask God to heal your heart and bring peace into your life. May God Bless you and your business! Wishing you the best in 2008.

My husband and I looked at all the schools in the area and PPMA is THE place to be! My daughter has been attending since she was 10 weeks old and she is now 18 months. Ms. Pam runs a fantastic organization. All of the children are mindful and respectful - even in the 12-18 month old class. Every day we pull up to the school my daughter gets excited and has a smile on her face. We are always greeted by name (all the kids are greeted by name...it is very welcoming) and each day we leave, we get a full report on how she acted and what activities she participated in. I'm amazed at the teachers - they all genuinely want to be there and they love my child...which is all I could have ever asked for in a school. They have exceeded my expectations in every way.
