I have passes for the San Diego Zoo, Sea world , this is by far no where near that, what I like is that you can come to this little gem , check out some of the local wildlife , and if you have a 4 or 5 year old that is curious and adventurous then this could be enlightening , and very exchanging, I do recommend , but only if you are not expecting something on the grander scale, btw I love the Free Flight venue in Del Mar too!

This was a small aquarium and nature center back in 1989 at the end of a sandy road. My kids begged us to take them and their friends to touch the Sand Sharks and small Rays. Like an aquatic petting Zoo. Lots of informative displays. Now my kids are taking their kids. I'll wait for their reviews.

Pros: My Kids Loved being able to touch the Sand Sharks and Rays.

Cons: It was free when we went in 1989, adults $11 now.

Currently, the Nature Center is undergoing construction, so most of the exhibits are not open. I believe in July 2006, they will be reopening all of the exhibits. But for the price, it was a good time for my 17 month old daughter. It is very small and quiet, so she could run around, and wouldn't get lost in the crowd. And she loved the shark tank and touching the manta rays. Don't expect to spend more than 1 hour here, there really is not much to see. We'll see what happens come summer.
