Don't bother buying a vacuum repair warrantee unless you live in Phoenix or a big city where they actually service it. After talking to a person in appliances to make sure my vacuum was still under the service agreement, I brought it in (a 45 minute drive for me) only to find out that he didn't mention they pick them up only on Tuesdays and it was Wed. So I would have to wait 3 weeks for my vacuum back, and no they don't have loaners.
So a month or so later, I take it back on a Sunday (the 6th), and they tell me 2 weeks which is a long time to have no vacuum if you have pets. I call on Wed (the 23rd), thinking my vacuum must be done, but it is still in Phoenix and won't be shipped back until Thursday, so I shouldn't try to get it until Friday to make sure it's in.
To get this information, first I called the phone number on the web site, which is actually the optical center. The guy said it's been wrong for 2 years.
Then I call the number he gives me where I get into this extremely annoying phone tree which keeps asking the same questions for 5 minutes.
Then finally at my destination, the repair and parts center, I am on hold for another 5 minutes. Then it turns out this is a call center in Texas and the guy can only tell me it "should" be back on Thursday. But I explain that I want to know if it's really back and he puts me on hold and through to the repair center in Phoenix who says it should be back for sure by Friday.
So all in all, 3 weeks from when I dropped it off. Of course no one mentioned this when talking me into the warrantee, I naively thought I could drop it and get it back in a couple of days.

Honestly, I can't imagine Sears is really saving money with this terrible customer service. The people I talked to tried to be nice, but the system is too screwed up. I asked each person I talked to for the local number, and they kept giving me the phone tree number. I've been a Sears customer my whole life for many major purchases, but I certainly won't ever buy another appliance there, what if I had a real problem? I am super annoyed and wish I thought to ask more questions before I bought the extra warrantee.

Between when I bought this, and the repair, they also sold me a water softener which requires a drain in the floor (which I do not have and they did not tell me). My contractor installed it and it flooded the basement. That's another story, but I'm done with Sears.

Being that Sears is at the mall, I am there alot. Last November as I was wandering around looking for that perfect gift for my husband, I finally found it. A Gas Grill. He has wanted one for forever and we have never had a place before where he could have one. I went to the front and told them what I wanted. They offered to set it up and deliver it for me. I was ecstatic. They quickly got all of my information and I paid for the grill. It arrived EXACTLY when they said it would and I was totally thrilled.
