This store is the worst place in the region to shop. It started out great at first but quickly went down hill. Finding someone to help you is simple because you just push the button and wait and wait and wait and wait. Usually someone is there in less than 10 minutes to tell you they don't know much about that department and the guy who's usually there is at lunch (even if it's 8am). The best way to get help in this store is to drop something metal and shout OWWWW really loud. when they come running tell them you're ok, but you could use help finding some weather stripping or what ever you need.

Only about half of the items here are marked and the store has also gone to great lengths to store mismatched nut sna bolts in the same drawer so always buy the prepacked stuff. Lumber is another story, the guys there will walk past you like you've got the plague while you're trying to manuevuer a sheet of 3/4" plywood onto a cart.

When you get ready to use the check out, use the contractor lane, because that's where the only employee is. The no-brained girl babysitting the self-checkout is only capable of basic monkey processes.

Unfortunately these aren't the worst aspects of this store. On no less than 4 occasions I have bought plywood or several 2x4s only to pull up under the canopy and get it on top of my Jeep Cherokee while a handful of employees walk past you trying thier best not to make eye contact or acknowledge you. The last time I cornered a guy and asked for help and he said something like "What do you need help with?" as if it wasn't completely obvious to the average 7 year old that I could use another person to pick up the wood and lift it 5' up to the roof rack.

Your best bet when visiting this Home Depot location is to walk back out and drive the 1.5 miles south to the Lowes where the people are friendly, helpful, and usually knowledgable (or in training)

I got a huge kick out of these reviews and I am SURE all the reviews mentioning horrible customer service and know nothing do even less employees are all absolutely true. I live 2 miles from this Home Depot and I routinely drove to San Marcos to go to Lowes to avoid crappy service.Well I got a gift card from my daughter who didn't realize I hated Home Depot and this weekend I went there. Imagine my shock when the associates actually went out of their way to ask if I needed help.Every Home Depot employee I saw was pleasant and asked if they could help. The store was cleaner and brighter then I remembered. I guess since the HD board got rid of Bob Nardelli, the company is making a turn around.I'm actually going to drive past the new Lowes and try Home Depot again with my own money.

I use my local Home Depot a lot. I can always find exactly what I am looking for and at a decent price. However, the subcontractors that they hire are not of the best professional quality. When installing my water heater, one of the contractor almost left because he didn't like the the location of the water heater and other kept asking me personal questions and asked if he could have a beer. The employees in the garden shop are very pleasant. On the down side, they are woefully under trained in plant knowledge but then again so are Lowe's employees. Every store has it ups and down so I just take the good and forget about the bad.

I have been shopping at this home depot for 3+ years at this point. I happened to stumble onto this page while looking for the phone #... I am really surprised at the reviews I saw. I have always been extremely happy with the level of service, knowledge and commitment to customer satisfaction. I have rented a lot of equipment and spent thousands of dollars there and never once had an experience that was less than satisfactory. Reading through the reviews, it seems that 3 of them were most likely the same person... one additional was a complete duplicate. I am as happy as ever with my local home depot and will continue shopping there. I live closer to lowes but drive by it everytime to get to home depot. I have not been there once. I hope this helps someone as it seems most of the negative feedback was from the same person with a gripe on rental equipment. Thanks HD, Steve

A Zero "0" is more like it!! This is the worst Home Depot I have ever been to in my life! The rudest employees probably because the all high school drop outs that don't care about there jobs! Don't know anything about building or lumber. Seems like they are very prejudice if your not the same race they are. The dirtiest store I'm going to take pictures and email them to corporate offices. Do NOT rent equipment from them is the unsafest non-maintained equipment I have ever seen. The manager Arturo most be in his office sleeping if he doesn't see whats going on with his store and employees. Do YOUR job and TREAT your customers with the respect they deserve for the fact that they are spending there hard earned money in your store! But if people read this hopefully they will shop at the new Lowe's!

Beware!!!! I rented some equipment from Home Depot in Kyle and had the worst experience in my life. First off they will rent you the crappiest equipment and unsafest!!! Then when it breaks down on you they take forever to repair it and don't credit you down time!!! The Mexican guys working are the rudest people to customers I have ever seen! Don't bother complaining to managers they all stick together and will backdoor you! One of the Mexican guys working flat out lied to his manager in front of me about the equipment i rented which was a bobcat saying the job site was full of tree stumps. There is just soft black dirt maybe a little rock.NO TREE STUMPS! If a track bobcat cant handle that they don't need to be in the rental business! Also the store itself has the worst customer service I have ever seen. Not to forget how dirty the store is not well stocked at all.I recommend to anyone to shop at the new Lowe's in Kyle as soon as it opens Lord knows that cant happen soon enough!!! Hopefully people will read this and beware of the service there and headaches that follow. I am calling corporate on them will see how much they care about there customer relations! What really sickens me is how much money I spend there and that's what I get in return!!!

This is one of the most horribly managed businesses I've ever dealt with. Over the past few years, the customer service has dropped to the point where I cannot wait for the new Lowe's to open. Most of the employees are kids with absolutely no desire to help customers in a courteous manner. They are usually entrenched in their own conversations about how drunk they got last night, etc, and don't even try to hide their annoyance in the fact that you need their help to check out. I liked the self-service lanes, but they stopped letting you exchange the 5-gallon water bottles on them without asking a clerk to enter the code on their machine. The self-serve propane tank exchange is malfunctioning 9 times out of ten, and the parking lot is always trashed. At least twice I've been there and there's been a bunch of broken glass on the lot that is there when I arrive and when I leave.
The last straw for me was when I tried to return one of my 5-gal water bottles, as I don't use as much anymore. I've been doing the exchange for a few years with them now, but I knew this would be a hassle, so I went to customer service. After I was able to get someone's attention (from the usual "three clerks trying to figure out something on one computer situation"), I was told I needed the receipt in order to get my deposit back. Apparently they've had a rash of people returning the same brand to them from other stores (I'm sure this was total BS). Of course I didn't have the receipt, as the original deposit was paid years ago and this wasn't necessary for the dozens and dozens of exchanges I've done. That didn't fly with this typically rude clerk. Nothing quite like being called a criminal in front of your two daughters by a high school dropout. I just hope the Lowe's is different and the morons running the HD realize their business has dried up because of their horrible service. I know I won't be there again to find out.

Pros: Only hardware store in Kyle.

Cons: Horrible customer service. Broken machinery. Rude checkout clerks. Trashed parking lot.

Do not buy granite from this store. The associate sold it to me by telling me that sink cut outs were included and the estimator they sent to my house promptly noted that sink cut outs are $260 a piece. Additionally I was assured that removal of my current counter tops was included and it was actually $797.00. Instead of fixing this situation the manager was arrogant and extremely condescending in his approach.Shop at your own risk....

Sub-standard customer treatment after they got my money. Larry, in sales, in appliances was totally untruthful, rude and obnoxious to me after I received my appliance. Store managers did not return calls, as I was told by them that they would. Horrible customer service. I would never recommend this place nor purchase anything from them in the future. Dishonest people!!!!

Home Depot recently opened in Kyle and the new store is great. This location is very convienient because before you had to go into Austin to find a Home Depot. The new store is well organized and the staff is very friendly, so if you need supplies for your latest do-it -yourself job this is the place to shop.
