I found Bono's by accident while looking for some other restaurant in Denver. We decided BBQ sounded good and went on in. IT WAS GOOD! I live 60 miles away- in Colorado Springs- and have been back to Bono's over the last two years at least once every other month. The meat is smoked completely through- as it should be- over a pit. They do serve it without sauce but duh! That is because everyone likes a different sauce- and there are 4 to choose from at your table. I always mix sweet & tangy with the smoky red sauce. Yum! They have really great sweet tea, and on the appetizer menu- the corn nuggets are to die for! They also serve fried okra, which we have a very hard time finding up here in Colorado. I married an Oklahoma boy, and he swears by this place. We have tried many "BBQ" places in the Springs (I use the quotations because most gloat about thier sauces but don't even smoke thier meat) but they have all come up short. One, called Famous Dave's, is the best in the Springs, but still no Bono's. The staff is friendly and not too attentive- meaning they don't hover over us but we still get the attention we need. I have to tell you- we are going to Lake Michigan for vacation and found out there is a Bono's in Allendale, MI. We will be stopping for lunch after we swim!! Try this place out if you love real, smoky BBQ. You will not be disappointed!

Pros: Awesome value... try a huge platter of all the meats in house for $25 two people

Cons: It's in Denver and I'm in Colorado Springs!

i think this is the yuckiest "bbq" i've ever eaten. if you don't put sauce on the meats, there is no flavor. and huh, i can't get a bun? only toast? the only bonus is that they're never busy.

Hands down - the best place ever! Moist, smoked meats, friendly service, real sweet tea!!!! Bono's is the oldest BBQ restaurant in Jacksonville, FL and the best ever. They opened here more than a year ago, and it has been a great treat!!

This place is horrible. I don't even know ware to start. First I should have gotten the hint when I walked in and another couple walked out in an argument with the manager about how horrible it was and the manager was asking the individuals not to ever come back. We ordered Baby back ribs when we received them they had cartilage attached to the end of the ribs that attaches the Spare ribs to the Baby back. Almost all of the rib bones were broken and shards of bone plagued the meat. I asked to speak with the manager about this. When he came over he instantly was arguing with us not even hearing what we had to say. He took the ribs back behind the counter for further inspection at which point the cook began eating what we had been eating off of our plate. This was done right behind the counter in front of everyone in the restaurant. Furthermore he asked what we wanted him to do about what we call poor quality ribs. I told him that I shouldn't have to pay for it due to the fact that I didn't even eat all of the ribs and the cook ate the rest of them.
