My wife and I went here for our first anniversary and it was very nice, very classy. the price is a little spendy but they bring you around 15 courses of different meats that all taste equally amazing. I'd definitely go back.

This was my first time having dinner at the Brazil Grill and overall it was an okay experience. First we were escorted to our table by a rude jerkface of a lady (I heard she was the owner). She was rude to us like we came in as transients

Good service but bad quality meat. It was not moist or juicy. Like I said I would rather pay a little more money and go to PCG or another steakhouse if I'm in the mood for meat.

4 adults, 3 kids, great time, great food, great service except only one runner for most of our stay left us waiting for more meat. Otherwise, great experience, I've already recommended this to another couple. I'm searching here in Houston to see if we have as good an experience in a Brazilian Grill available as we had last night in Portland.

My husband and I went to Brasil Grill the other night and had an wonderful time. The drinks were so good. We had something called a capriana and it was delicious. We were served 10 or 12 meats on a big sword that were all very good. We had a stop light on our table to get meat delived to us or to wait. The server was very nice and explained what was going to happen because we had not been there before. There was also a salad bar that had many different kinds of salads that we had not heard of.

We had such a nice time that we plan to return this weekend.
If you are looking for a place that is different than the usual sit down and order from a menu, this is the place.
My husband said this weekend can not come soon enough for him.

This was my 3rd time - I've been here about once a year - and let me tell you, this place has steadily and consistently going down hill. The service, luckily for them, has stayed decent - not the best, mind you, but they don't give you the evil eye if you eat too much or linger too long. The food, however, was just so bad that my group of friends I went with decided they've earned 3 strikes so we won't be going back here - why waste your hard earned money here when there are so many better restaurants around?

First of all, we were there good 2+ hrs and there were only 4-5 different dishes - salty lamb, salty chicken leg, salty piece of chicken meat wrapped in soggy bacon, salty sirloin and salty some beef wrapped in (yup, you guessed it) soggy bacon. Have I mentioned they were all very incredibly, ridiculously SALTY? Only thing not salty was the pineapple. My group ate pineapples and endless glasses of water with each bite.

Shudder~

So on paper this place sounded great, grilled meat over open fire and lots of it brought to your table. Upon getting the first meat sample I knew something was wrong, dry and tasted like grade D garbage. It was a non busy night so I thought maybe that was the issue, but after reading other reviews I think its just the place. I would advise against anyone going there ever.

I had just come back from Rio de Janero when I first ate at Brazil Grill. I must tell you that it is as good or even better that the ones I ate at in Brazil.
The churrasco is grilled to perfection. You can ask for the meat you want, as well as the way you like it to be grilled.
The salad bar could have more of a "Brazilian" flair, but I think that they are catering more to the American taste.
The "caipirina" was perfect, but I had to have only one because I was the designated driver that night.
I intended to practice my Portuguese there, but there was only one person speaking it. The staff was very friendly, making me feel very comfortable.
Also their parking lot is very limited, but again, there is plenty of street parking all around it.
I will recomend it, as long as you go there with a big apetite.

I first visited this place in January??08 and loved it. The meats were delicious, the service impeccable, the ambiance inviting. Two weeks ago, I had one of the worst dining experiences ever, for the following reasons: 1. The meats were tasteless! Their bacon-wrapped items had just the taste of bacon to it. What a disappointment! I then tried their Mustard Beef Sirloin twice, and the first time I had to salt it to give it even the slightest resemblance of flavor; the second time I couldn't cut through it with my knife, as it was severely undercooked (not to be confused with "rare"). 2. They only had one guy bringing meats, so we felt very hurried; also, he was curt and impolite. Another thing: he would stop by the table next to us with just 1-2 pieces left on a skewer, give all of that to that table, and never come back to serve us the same selection. I don't think I had to tip him to favor our table over our neighbors, did I?.. 3. Our server opened a bottle of wine for us, and then disappeared forever to serve other tables. I'm not a high-maintenance person, but I don't like it when I have to pour wine for myself and my guest in a restaurant of such caliber. 4. They did not have their full menu of meats as they advertise on the website and on the menu. I suspect that some of the items might be seasonal, but I'd like to be informed of what they're out of right away.
Overall, bad service, which I can often tolerate in a restaurant if the food is good, but the food was bad, too! We got an impression that the place is severely understaffed and they??re trying to cut corners, but customers should not be victims of such circumstances for $32/dinner!

The salad bar was very interesting, loved it. The staff were very pleasant and was always at your table with thier swords. The food was delicious and of course it was alot and we were overstuffed. Enjoyed our dinner and they actually joked around with us which made it a very relaxed atmosphere. We had a very nice time and we would go back again and of course the elder gentleman who came around and made sure everything was alright made it seem more enjoyable. This was our first time there and would recommend it.

I went to a similar place in Rio de Janeiro and must say that you can have the same or better quality right here in Portland.
They carve all those delicious cuts of meat at your table side and you can eat as much as you want. I was told that the owner is Brazilian and that he wanted his place to be as authentic as possible, but
the dessert menu lacked some of the typical Brazilian pudins.
Wonderful food, nice salad bar and of course that wicked Brazilian Caipirana.
I am telling all my friends about the fantastic dining experience I had there.

Hello all! I like to write reviews and tell people what I think about a restaurant, bars, movies and other things. So here I am again and at this time I am going to talk about the Brazil Grill Restaurant.
I had a great night and I still am full of meat!! And what a meat.
The service was very good and the food wonderful. I loved the pineapple with cinnamon. The salad bar has some good choices, but I think it could be a little better.
The price for all I ate was incredible (thirty something dollars) comparing to other places, and quality is great. Sure I will go back some day and will invite some friends. It is a great place for parties or any kind or celebration.
I hope this review can help you in some way.

We went out to celebrate a friends service in the Military and the one organizing the party chose this place.
When we first got there we were very happily greeted and shown to our table by whom I believe were the owners.
Since it was a surprise party of sorts, we had to sit at the table for a little while before the guest of honor got there doing nothing and they did not have a problem with this.
You start the meal off with the salad bar, which really is a caesar salad or plain lettuce with nothing else to add on it (aside from dressing of course). They also have an assortment of Brazilian salads which were interesting to try (chicken salad, rice salad, fruit salad for example). I read on their website that it was also supposed to have soups, but they did not.
Then the meat service started and the server came around with the meats skewered on swords, as advertised.
Honestly, the meat was dry, flavorless and I don't know if they know what a spice or marinade is back in the kitchen. Maybe they don't use them in the true Brazilian style, but then make sure the meat is juicy so you can at least get it down. They have a couple bacon wrapped meats (chicken and filet mignon) which, because the meat is so bland, end up being completely overpowered by the flavor of the undercooked bacon. I ended up giving a majority of my meats to my boyfriend (him also not enjoying it, but eating it to at least get our money's worth) only really liking the prawns which by the time they got to that stage I was too full to even enjoy (it takes a very long time to get through all the meats and they come almost dead last in the rotation).
Oh, and the grilled pineapple they rave about?
Maybe if you like hot pineapple soaked in sugar..

All in all I was very disappointed. When you pay $32 per person for just the meal you expect to at least enjoy it. If it wasn't for the great service I would have given this place a single star.

My wife and I ate at Brazil Grill yesterday and in a word, divine. The food was an array of different meats that were juicy and flavorful. I'll be darned if I can remember the names of all the meats. My server was informative with the wine list and we loved the wine suggested to us.

We were there for our 11th anniversary and the manager knew that and came over to offer us a free dessert to celebrate. We thought that was especially nice.
The Brazil Grill did have air conditioning and even with front window doors open for the large party sitting outside, it was quite cool. The previous comment said they did not have A/C, which they obviously did and it was over 90 outside. Perhaps it broke during the recent heat wave.
Overall, a perfect anniversary dinner. It was an enjoyable evening and we will return.

The first thing they should do is automatically bring out a basket of bread... our waiter said they would come around with side dishes, but after 10-15 minutes of just meat we had to ask our waiter again... and then finally five minutes later we got one roll of bread for each of us, another ten minutes later we got one plate of some fried polenta and that was it for side dishes.

The biggest disappointment was that it was BOILING hot in the restaurant. Yes, today was a 91 degree day, but it was at least 80 degrees in the restaurant. For the prices they charge I would expect not to get sweat stains on my back and armpits. It was so stifling hot that we stopped eating early just to be able to get out of there. If the little hole-in-the-wall Nicolas Lebanese restaurant is able to afford to keep their restaurant cool in this hot weather, and only charge $10-15 for a meal, I would expect Brazil Grill to be able to keep their customers in comfort as well.

Needless to say we will not be going back, not at those prices and mediocre service.

This is a restaurant that people come around and serve meats at your table on swords. I liked it a lot. I enjoyed the pineapple very much. The servers were great and for the price (32.00 per person) I thought we got a lot of food.

They were very busy but our service was top notch. I will return but next time I will take the next day off to sleep off my food.

Great place:)

We went this weekend for our wedding anniversary. we had been told by friends of this place and I checked citysearch and it looked ok, so off we went for our big night out since it is 32.00 a person !

started with the salad bar. not much there. ceasar salad ( didnt know it was braziallian!) and potatoe salad, some orzo salad, picked squash and some funky tuna salad with carrots and rasians. things werent marked well. Went back to table to wait and they started bringing items

most were ok. there isnt something i can say was great. tri tip was chewy and dry, chicken in bacon was dry and all you could taste was bacon. shimp was ok but would have been better if properly devined. congac chicken drumsticks were good. but only brought out once. we were a table of 3 and they would come to the table with 1 or 2 items left. brougt 1 empanda and they were never seen again.. a few times around the waiter brought the same item. the tri-tip or the mustard sirloin. neither did we really care for. Next time around he bought the regular sirloin and we had our card on green, we said no thank you very polietly, but then he had a complete attitude.. asked well what did we want then.. then rattled off chicken, beef, shrimp pork.. we said oh.. pork, and he said.. well we have ham, you have had that.. its pork ! well we thought maybe we had missed something , because we honestly werent counting what was brought by, we just didnt want anymore beef. shortly after, the waitress came by to ask if everything was ok. i asked if the staff was always rude and had attitudes. she aplogized that was not nornmally the case but at that point it didnt matter.

We asked for bread cause there was some on a stick and they brought 1. when asked for another they brought it about 10 min and one more was brought that was as dry as a crouton and not edible.

When you go out to spend your money and you are spending a FAIRLY BIG CHUNK you want your dinner to be exceptional ! and the 32.00 doesnt even include a drink !

WE WILL NOT GO BACK ... its been 2 days later and i am still upset about it !

I ate at The Brazil Grill yesterday and thought it was the bomb! The food was endless and the salad bar was out of this world. The pineapple with a sugary glaze was the best thing I have ever tasted.
The men with the meats were very professional. I like that they don't try to keep me from eating, they give me my food and move on. The waiter that got our drinks for us was able to talk and joke with us. I noticed a different commenter said the meat guys were not friendly. I think they just need to keep the meat moving around the room. That does not make them unfriendly in my book. What a wonderful time. I like this place much better than El Gaucho. I got more food at a better price. I will be returning to that place for sure.

It was a little loud in there for me but that would be the only bad thing I could say about this place!

After seeing the Brazil Grill on the travel channel we decided to have a friends birthday dinner there. The hostess (who was also probably the manager) was very friendly and so was our tables cocktail server. The restaurant is setup to where each adult pays $32.00 and you are given plates, a plastic disc colored green on one side and red on the other side, and access to the endless salad bar. Servers carrying metallic meat skewers walk around and give each person their choice of marinated meat (chicken, shrimp, flank steak, sausage, and top sirloin). Not all, but many of the "meat servers" had extremely bad attitudes and spoke to us as if we were children. After one round of sampling the different meats available, the meat serves just stopped coming to our table. Even after making eye contact with us, they'd just walk on by, and by no means was our table displaying "needy" (as people in the food industry call it) tendencies. We simply wanted what we paid for, meat! All in all, the meat was very good, the salad bar was mediocre and also quite small, and the meat servers had poor attitudes and no smiles. When it comes down to it, after spending $32 per person, I'd like some half-decent service and get my money's worth. I hate to give a bad review but I definitely cannot give this restaurant a good one.

Pros: Very well, marinated and cooked meat.

Cons: Poor service. You only get a portion of what the menu says they serve.

The food was delicious and the service was incredible. If you are hungry, this is the place ! It is a bit expensive but the quality and quantity make it worth it. The only downside was the wait - and we had a reservation. I would recommend going on an off day or time.

We have been all over Portland (at least 40 weekends in the last 2 years) and casually decided to stop in, not knowing what the "Churrascaria" style of dining was. WOW!!! I do love food, people and new experiences......
I normally don't eat Buffet foods.......never say never! We'll be back! Go hungry and any age can enjoy! We were with another couple, it is not noisy, yet interactive with the waiters! We watched watched 3 tables with more intimate couples and they seemed to be enjoying their Evening as much too! Outside dining weather permitting, casual dress! We'll be back! I can't wait until this winter when we'll have about 40 friends to dine with! Watch out!

This place is delicious! my favorite dish is the cinnamon & sugar pineapple!!! yummmmmmmy!

but try to see if you can get a seat right next to the kitchen that way you can get all the meat right as it comes out!! nice and fresh!!

but sometimes on busy nights the service can be very very long an you can go for a while without any food on your plate.

I made reservations for Saturday night at 7:30. They called to confirm the day before which was appreciated. That day we had an additional friend that wanted to come, and they were happy to acommodate. We arrived promptly at 7:30 and our table was not ready yet, but they had a small bar area to sit and wait at. We didn't get seated until around 8:00 and by that time we were starving, but they did bring us the empanadas, which were okay. When we were seated, the meat came flowing fast! Several of us had the side dishes... the tabouleh was delicious and cleansed the palate. The meats were all tasty! The pork tendorloin was overcooked, but the rest of the meats were great, and we all ate too much! Overall, it was a fun experience for a group, and built a great base for an evening of drinking! I told some other friends and family about it, and they are all anxious to go. Price is a little steep ($31.95 each) but I would recommend it again when friends are in town!

We went for our fortieth anniversary are were disappointed. While meats (the ones that were finally brought around) were good for the most part), the available side dishes were lack luster and few. If a rather tasteless Casaer Salad, white rice, and black beans, let us not forget a very simple heart of palm salad will satisfy you for everything else in the dinner, then you will be be happy. Our part felt it wasn't. However, once we added the marinated olives to the hearts of palm, it was better. Take special care to use the small bowls that we didn't see until after we had put the beans and other things on our plates, though. Everything ran together and it wasn't pleasant.

The lamb was superb, as was the shrimp and pineapple. The filet was prepared past medium and was dry. The tritip was good, and the ribs never made it around. The chicken wrapped in bacon was lackluster at best.

We filled up on the meats, but felt that something was lacking. We did receive a free dessert for our anniversry and one for our granddaughter's birthday, which very nice. They were extremely good and huge.

My wife took me here for my birthday along with our 17 year old son. We left stuffed with all we could eat of the best beef, lamb, chicken, shrimp, and cinnamon glazed pineapple. The staff was very friendly and jovial. Even though they were slammed on a Friday night the service was prompt and the "roving gouchos" took the time to answer questions and offer suggestions.

I came to Brazil Grill with my girlfriend last week and was amazed at the wide selection of meats served. The gauchos were very entertaining and friendly. It seemed as though I barely had to wait at all for any of the meats to come to our table. The gauchos would politely tell us that there was a rotation to all the meats served and if they passed by us with some meat that we wanted, it was only because there were other tables that had been waiting longer then we had for one of the specific items. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone that loves meat!!! Can't wait to come back!

We went to Brazil Grill on Sunday and had such a wonderful time. The food was great and the service was excellent. The restaurant was very busy but all of the waiters or meat carvers were so friendly to us. This was our first time to this kind of restaurant. I never knew I could go to a place & have so many meat options. It was heaven. I just wish I had starved myself all day so I could have eaten more. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

I came here a few weekends ago with some friends to celebrate my birthday. we came on a saturday night, and were really glad we had made reservations, the place was completely packed. Our waitress was very friendly and although we had to wait about 5-10 minutes for our drinks, once we flipped our card to "green", we were inundated with an awesome selection of meats being sliced off of swords. My advice: dont miss out on the lamb!

This is not my first experience eating this style of eating. I came here for a friends birthday and when we let the waitress know that 3 of the 6 of us were not having the meat, she rolled her eyes (I guess that means the tip will be less?) Also 3 of us had been waitresses and all of us work in the service industry, and did not understand the attitude. Although I did not have the meat, my husbans enjoyed it, although it was not as fancy was we expected (bacon wrapped meat and mustard on another did not seem as expensive as it was.) The atmosphere was not nice- orange wall paint and a tacky mini-Xmas tree and the food was not even close to authentic.(I have eaten at various Brazilian resturants and had many home cooked Brazillian food) The meat servers/gauchos were very very nice though, fun and friendly.

The big complaint is that the waitress got annoyed when we asked her to split the bill up, and insisted that we do it ourselves, offering us a calculator to do so. We were out to dinner for someones birthday and did not feel the need to sit and spend time calculating it ourselves. Long story short she refused to do it telling us it was impossible and blamming it on the computer, then she said okay (so it is possible, she just did not want to do it!) In the end one of members of he table went to the bathroom and overheard the waitress telling a fellow waitress to hand out bills to us as she "could not even look at us!" She also tacked on a 18% tip, giving herself a big $40+ when she had attitude. We questioned getting the tip removed and was told it was mandatory.

FYI- It's illegal to add any tip onto a bill, it's 'extra' if one chooses to do so. It's suppose to be a suggestion.

I will not be going back here under any circumstance and If it was not for the fact that it was someones birthday, I probably would have stayed to talk to a manager and get the tip removed!

What a big disappointment in regards to quality of food and service & we had reservations!! It was my dad's bday & we had a party of 15. The servers passed us up often for meat service & our cards were flipped up GREEN. WE had to ask over and and over again to be served the "meats" the menu had about 11 different kids you can try. By the end of our 2 hour dining experience we had 7 out of the 11 and we had to HUNT THE SERVERS down TO STOP BY OUR TABLE. They said if we wanted more of something to just let the server know. Yup, told them we all wanted more prawns and about 30 minutes later they brought over enough for just me because they served the other tables first. It felt really embarassing esp. because we dropped a good amount of money for the food & wine and left the place not even full. The experience was unique but not worth it. Go if you have only two ppl in your party. Other than that you take the risk of not being served and leaving very disappointed, but honesty the cuts of meats were not top notch. They had about 3 items wrapped in bacon. Y? The meats that they brought out were very THIN. I'm not just talking about thin slices of meat but the meat that was cooked itself is super thin and unimpressive when they brought it out. All in all I wish I never went there, wished we never had to practically beg for our meats to be served and pay a grip at the same time...of all days my dads bday they should have been a little more attentive. Don't go, it's not worth the $ and the snobby servers pretty much acting as though they have control if you get to eat or not. This place is not good and if you do go please do write a review good or bad just so others are warned. It's obvious that I dislike this place. Y else would I spend this much time writing a review & if management reads this. Please make sure that your servers are doing their job, make sure they know that they should be equally fair and attentive to all patrons.

A very unique dining experience. The salad bar offers excellent choices of potatoes, rice, salad, fruit, bread and soup. Once you've filled your plate with all of that, they bring huge slabs of lamb, beef, pork, shrimp, chicken etc. You definitely get your money's worth, but it's not quantity versus quality...this is excellent food!

This restaurant came highly recomended to me and of course wanted to try it. My boyfriend and I went the afternoon of my birthday and found they were closed til 5pm. We were told they would then reopen for dinner and to come back. Starving at this point we decided to come back later. When we returned at 5 minutes after the hour, we were then told then that they were full and should have made reservations from the same host that told us to come back. It would of been nice if she would of mentioned that the first time we had been there. Starving at that point , we ate at Burgerville. Four months later we decided to give it another try, only because I was given a gift certiicate. We did have a nice time and the food was really good. The staff that time was friendly and efficient. We will be going back because my boyfriend loves meat.

Disregard any confused reviewers who talk about there being to much meat. That's the whole point. This is a brazilian BBQ, and a good one at that. I lived in Brazil for a time, and this is better than many that I experienced there.

It was a friday night and I wanted something different for dinner. As I was browsing online for restaurants, I came across Brazil Grill. It sounded very interesting. So we decided to give it a try. The restaurant was different than any that I have experienced. We were seated promtly and were served our drinks. I recommend all meat lovers give it a try. I found it very authentic that they had men dressed as churrascos serving you meat straight from the rotisserie oven. Almost every meat that you can imagine. For sides they have a salad/side/soup bar that contained a variety of each. Don't forget to try the rotisserie pineapple, you'll wanna go back just for the pineapple. Overall very good experience. Very different and interesting style of a restaurant. Enjoy!!!

The food at Brazil Grill was pretty good. Meats were very flavorful and the unique offers of the salad bar are worth trying. One downside was slow service. The guy walking around with the meat was great, but our waiter . . . We went on a weekday night and the waiters/waitresses were also their own bartenders. It took us 20 minutes to get our bill. We were just sitting there, and believe me, I did not look happy. The waitress just passed on by over and over, not offering any help even after we tried to wave her down. The entire experience was not worth $30 a person.

I read the reviews about service and was reluctant to dine. I have to say at best I was annoyed by the service. I couldn't get them off me. Drinks, all the meats, new plates, the service was not an issue. I thought it was awesome, but my wife thought there was just too much meat. I should have married a carnivore.

My boyfriend and I took his parents who were visiting from out of town and we all had a great time! The service was prompt, friendly, and attentive without being too overbearing. We got our drinks right away and the waitress was good about periodically checking on us to see if there was anything we needed. The salad/side dish bar had a good variety of foods and the meat options were so varied and interesting we all got something we liked. The sirloin wrapped in bacon was the table favorite with pork and chicken to follow. The ?meat men? were efficient and funny, sometimes not taking the red side of the disc as a no because what they had to offer was too good to pass up ? and they were right! I highly recommend this restaurant (as long as you?re not vegetarian) and look forward to taking more friends and relatives there in the future!

We went on a Thursday night and found the bar right inside the front door to be a little awkward. Having to get thru the folks to get to the table was awkward.
We found the salad bar interesting and the food very tasty. I could have made a meal on that alone.
Once the meat started to arrive it seemed to flow. The bacon wrapped chicken and the pineapple were big hits. GREAT. The vote on the most of the beef was "ok".
The drink service was very poor. Waiter forgot the order then it took a while to finally get it. He showed up about every 30 minutes.
The servers were professional and friendly.

Once the place filled up it was VERY noisy and difficult to have a conversation. The acoustics are bad and doesn't make for a conversational environment.

Parking was limited and folks complained about that. No one left hungry!.

The write-ups were glowing, but overall the food was disappointing. The meat was good, but nothing too unqiue. The salad bar was the disappointment, seemed like canned fruit, and salads from Safeway deli, not worth the $30.00. We were also ignored by our server, I had to track them down to get a drink, and then I had to go to the bar to request our check at the end of the night. The two guys serving the meats were great, though.

Last night me and some friends went to Brazil Grill excited to sample their take on churrasco. Two of us arrived early and waited for a friend at the bar. We ordered a soft drink and a beer. As I nursed my beer and my friend finished his Coke, we patiently waited for the lady who served us to return and offer him a refill on his Coke. No such luck. She was too busy with her friends reading and giggling over the Willamette Week. Finally after he got another Coke and our friend had arrived, we were seated. The gauchos began serving us succulent cuts of beef, pork, chicken, pineapple and shrimp. Must haves include the chicken on the bone drumsticks (they're the least glamorous of the offerings, but pretty much the tastiest), the fillet mignon wrapped with bacon, the lamb, and the oregano-heavy grilled prawns. The two gauchos who served us were constantly coming around with new offerings and frequently asked us which cuts we wanted to try next. They carved off small and larger pieces when we requested them. Dudes knew what they were doing and were ON IT. Their female server counterparts, however, dropped the ball consistently. A few examples- having to ask for ice water (it's a $30 meal. c'mon on!), not once doing the standard "can I get you anything/how is everything?" check in, offering up an excuse (computer difficulties) as to why it was going to be difficult to split the check, and, finally, telling me that it would be "a while" until she could bring me change for a $20- she quickly grabbed the bill and was off and running when I told her it was for her tip. Bottom line, I've had churrasco before and Brazil Grill's churrasco was pretty awesome. Wait staff (as many many people have touched upon here on City Search) was sub-par, kitchen staff and gauchos were great. I wonder how many reviews that complain about some aspects of Brazil Grill's service it will take before their owners take their heads out of their nalgitas and realize something needs to be fixed?

Pros: Variety of meat/pork/chicken/prawns and the gauchos who know what they're serving

Cons: Shabby wait staff

Service is key for any restaurant, so why offer shabby service? We were seated at our table and left high and dry! After 15 minutes of waiting (I was timing on my stopwatch) for a server to recognize us and give us glasses of water, I asked the hostess what was going on. A server came immediately, but had the ?I?m Dave and I really don?t want to be here attitude?. Needless to say, the water glasses were never refilled and he was also MIA when it came time to pay our bill. For $28.50 per person, you expect a decent try at service! The food overall was just so-so. The pork seemed a little undercooked. Having your green card facing up, didn?t mean the servers would stop at your table. No new plates were offered. The restaurant is very, very noisy ? be prepared! I will not be back and will not recommend this restaurant to any of my friends. If you have out-of-town guests, take them to a restaurant that you know service will not be embarrassing!

Pros: Young men serving you meat

Cons: Poor Service, Very Noisy, Low Quality Food

Had the pleasure of dining at Brazil Grill last month and just had to write about it. We had a large business/friends group that quickly grew to 12 people and asked around our hotel where we could go on short notice. The suggestion of Brazil Grill came up as the "hottest place in town", so we called ahead and were welcomed. A wonderful woman "Shirley" greeted us at the door. She is the type of woman you just want to hug, she is so friendly.

We were seated at a nice table in the middle of an intimate room and the server was quick to explain the red light green light signal for food service. We found some great wines from Brazil of all places which are delicious in their Italianate-style and forward fruit. The wine list selections were very appropriate for the cuisine.
The "salad" bar was very interesting with many unsusal dishes which are supposedly authentic Brazilian. The meats paraded around were absolutely superb (much better quality than expected at the price point). And the service attentive but not intrusive.
All in all, a great place to dine leisurely, where each individual diner could choose the quantity and tempo they preferred while having fun conversing.
The only sad part was finding out it is a stand alone restaurant with no hope of finding one in our neck of the country. Bravo!

My friend and I tried this place for the first time on a Wednesday night at about 6:00pm and were seated immediately. We were there for about an hour and a half and the place never did fill completely up with people.

The Bad:
Poor service. The waitress did not keep our drinks full, and we had to ask just to get our water refilled. Also she never asked us once if we would like a clean plate like I heard other waitresses offering their guests. I am not sure why, but she was not very attentive.
The other thing that bothered me was they advertise that they will keep offering you meats as long as your cue is green on your table and we had our cue turned to green for 90% of the meal. Once you had a piece of one kind of meat, they would pass you by and serve a table they hadnt been before. Even when they finished with a new table we were still passed by. It didnt seem to matter that our cue was green. I also requested from one of the servers for a slice of meat that was a little more well done. He told me that he had to save it for a table he hadnt served yet. How is this problem? I also noticed they didnt bring out the costly meats until last and never offer seconds on meats like the fillet mignon.

The good:
Most of the meats were flavorful and the sides were equally tasteful. The dining experience and the way they serve your meat is different and enjoyable.

Bottom Line:
I think the price you pay is not equal to the level of service they provide. If my glass of water cant be filled without me asking, why would I want to go back?

Got to sample about half of everything and just did not have any more room. Everything was great, cocktails a bit on the weak side (expected more of a kick for $7.50 a pop) Impressive salad bar, shrimp should be shelled before grilling though.

Some waiters were a bit sassy but fun to banter with, some were just plain grouchy --dont argue with them, they carry huge knives. Will be going back when I'm over my meat overload for another review...

Response to several preceding notes: Now come on: Vegas, Seattle and Dallas churrascarias are hardly the pinnacle of churrasco and are not a valid comparison for Brazil Grill. Furthermore, this kind of fine dining experience is not all about getting the most food for the least money--suggest you try Olive Garden for that instead. If you really want a fair benchmark, you have to go to Sao Paulo or New York. I've been to churrascaria in both cities, and while Brazil Grill does indeed put their own spin on traditional churrasco, we loved it.

Yes, you absolutely need reservations, even though one person notes getting there early--if they had waited a little longer, they would have found on Saturday this place is PACKED!!

The service at Brazil Grill is excellent. Nuff said.

One should expect red meats off the grill to be more on the medium-rare side, the delicatessen bar has its own unique spin (not completely traditional and after speaking with the owner, soon to be expanded). The contemporary approach to dressings and sauces on the beef, pork and shrimp were welcome to us; the pork roast we enjoyed was indeed one of the best cuts and preparations I've had in many years, and was succulent, which is exceedingly difficult to do with pork roast. The shrimp were in fact perfectly prepared. And we loved the pineapple dessert.

This restaurant was recommended to us so we called for directions and reservations. It was 5:30pm on a Saturday night. We were told earliest available reservations would be for 9:30pm. We decided to stop by and have drinks and hopefully snag a table for the 4 of us on a "stand-by" basis. No such luck. The restaurant was easily half full with empty tables everywhere. Hostess insisted that all the tables were spoken for and refused to seat us. We sat at the bar for almost an hour having drinks (spending money $$$), hoping that they would find us a table. At 6:40 we got up and left. The hostess followed us out the door, offering us chocolate after-dinner mints as a consolation gift. Tables were still sitting empty as we left. Pretty unbelievable! Doubt if we'll try again.

Pros: Interesting concept - food looked great - really nice seating arrangements (large booths)

Cons: No reservations - no food for you! They'll allow empty tables for over an hour while you sit at the bar (due to no reservations!)

I personally LOVE B.G. I wake up in the middle of the night thinking "I must have some pineapple" ) I too have been to other similar restaurants in Seattle, Texas and Las Vegas.
Ipenema in Seattle I found cold, uncomfortable & salty, the salad bar is half of what BG has and to be honest the sausage looked gross, all the meats were too rare and they didn't seem to understand what the request "well done" means, I was totally not impressed.
Yoli's in Las Vegas gives you
half the meat for more of the price, I went last month, they cut their sausages in half, and they're half the size to start with, offered seven meats total and give you
one plate of salad with their dressing on it, no salad bar and it's $10.00 more per person. The Samba's at the Mirage in Vegas had 8 dry meats and a fish, again no salad bar, and the latest addition Rum Jungle was totally unimpressive, again, no salad bar, ALL the meats were dry and the cost was again higher. Wow,
what a great deal :( To top it off you get bananas not pineapple for "dessert" I'm thrilled to death to have a churrasco here, that I don't have to
drive three hours to get to, or fly to another state to have the experience, that is fresh & Clean and the gauchos don't mind when I whine about the
meat being rare (they pay attention and don't bring it to me until it's WELL & DRY just how I like it) the chef cringes I'm told that they bring it to me that way, but I don't want pink! Just like those who want the rare get the outside and don't touch the middle. To each his own - and they will bring you what you want - you just have to ask.
