This is a wonderful daycare! The teachers are kind beyond compare! They are connected not only with the children but with the parents as well. Teachers are caring and sweet. They remember my son by name even after he's moved on to another

I have a 3 yr old who has been at the Toy box since she was 3 months and a 1 yr old who has been there since she was 6 weeks. We LOVE this school. In the 3 years that we have been there we have had only one concern and the directors dealt with it immediately. The staff is friendly and concerned about your children. It is very clean, and I have toured many facilities in this area ?? none of them compare to this center for cleanliness. There has been no turn over in the infant room since my first child was in there and that was a great feeling to already know the women that I was going to be leaving my 6-week old with. I felt as comfortable leaving my infant with these ladies as I do leaving her with my mother and mother-in-law. My 3-yr-old is very advanced and was counting in English and Spanish and knew her entire alphabet (verbally and visually) before she turned 3. She was also able to spell her name and recognize it before the age of 3. Additionally, she knows the months of the year and days of the week. We are so pleased with the advanced curriculum and how much fun she has. She loves going to school and sees learning as fun.
Some reviewers complained of turnover. Many of the instructors are students (nursing and early childhood development, for example) and with the change of semesters the instructors are moved around to different classes/schedules to accommodate their school schedules. Thus, that means we often see a teacher multiple times and this only happens with semester changes which often coincide with a child being moved up to another classroom so they would see a new teacher anyway. So we do not see this as a negative thing. Besides, I would take having the teachers shifted each semester if that means they can continue their education, which can only mean improved care for my child. My older daughter knows all of the teachers and they all know us. We use many of the teachers for babysitting and have referred many of them to other friends.
I highly recommend the Toy Box Daycare for child care and I know that we will continue to use this center until our children are in elementary school.

In everything, there is good and bad and I am one that tries to find a silver lining in every situation. However, my two children were at the Toy Box and I am rather disappointed. There were large turn overs with a young staff, communication was horrible, and the directors only seemed concerned enough to greet you when you paid tuition. My child, who was potty training, was not changed one day after having an accident and no one seemed to notice! I asked questions about my children's behavior and how their day was and no one would talk to me. I would get "He/She was good. No accidents" on a daily basis and no true communication about their day, what they did, who they are friends with, what they learned, etc... The blanks parents want filled in when they are not around.
This always concerned me: when I would pick up my children the teachers would be mopping the floors before the children had left. All you could smell was clorox. Now, as far as being clean I'm all for it but it made me nervous for my very young children to be around such fumes or slipping and falling on the wet floor.

Pros: A few lead teachers that were exceptional

Cons: Just another number to the directors.

Obviously some people are living in a fantasy world. Parents always expect teachers and daycare to do their jobs!!!! Maybe you should also reinforce things going on at school at HOME!!!! Both of my children attended this daycare. We only left because of military orders. My first could say her alphabet and count to 25 before she was two. She also knew her colors and her shapes, but we also worked on these at home as well!!!! Everyone in that daycare knew both my girls names and mine. Face it every child gets sick when they attend a new day care. It's called building up your imune system. When you have a finger pointed at someone else, don't forget to check the ones pointing back at you!
Love and miss you TOYBOX!!!!

Pros: friendly staff, clean, and great curriculum

Cons: NONE

My son was never well the entire year he attend this daycare. Started with pneumonia, ended with croup. The staff was never the same except the ladies in the front office that take the money-don't even know their names-very impersonal. My child made no educational progress at all and there was not much effort to help with other development like potty training, eating at the table with utensils,etc.. I would not recomment this place to anyone.

Pros: impressive facility from the street

Cons: not clean, constant teacher turnover, impersonal

.

When I was interviewing childcare systems this daycare was on the list. I was not impressed with the cleanliness of the facilities. Nor the effort to keep the children clean. I would not send my child there.
