Salt and Pepper Green Bean are wonderful as is the green bean chicken. They also do an amazing mango chicken (seasonal). Wonderful family atmosphere.

Lucys used to be our favorite place in brentwood. we will now finally try other other suchi/chinese places. Horrible customer service tonight Picked up food-3 items. 2 of the 3 on our take- out was wrong. When I called manager she was confrontational and wanted to argue. She she gave us what we ordered and that my husband was to blame. Unbelievable! So rude! So sad because we will now be regulars somewhere else. Never in my life have I come in contact with such rude people.

We can always count on Lucy's to have tasty, hot food to go. We almost always get take out (with 3 kids, it becomes expensive to eat in) and for the most part it's always reliable. The only thing is if you order something extra (@ no charge, like hot mustard) you have to check to make sure they put it in your oder. We're used to that anyway. We love Lucy's

Love Lucy's walnut prawns, and my husband's absolute favorite is their sake don. Had lunch there the other day and food was good as usual. However, was disappointed at the slower than usual service. They've also switched to lower-quality steamed rice which is an absolute no-no for a rice fanatic like me. Paging the owners, put top quality jasmine rice back on the menu:)

I was impressed with the atmosphere at this restaurant. We were greeted by a very sweet man who looked like the patriarch of the place. We ordered chinese food - chow mein and fried rice among others - and we enjoyed everything. The amount per serving is a bit smaller than other fine chinese restaurants, but the great taste, warm experience and good service more than made up for it. I will try the other cuisines next time.

This is a great local establishment if you love Asian food. I've been coming here since I moved to Brentwood in 2006 and it's never failed me. I often come without a reservation and am seated with my party in a favorable amount of time. I've even been able to get my boyfriend to try some new dishes as well! Go on a week night and you will get the best, most attentive service. I continue to bring visitors to this favorite eatery and am never disappointed.

Their menus say one thing. They give you something different.
They say its based on what the chef has available
That said you never know what you will get even when the menu says what you should be getting.

I talked to the owner she said all restaraunts do this -No
They do not inform you of the change in the menu either when you order it.

Sounds illegal - one would think if you modify your menu and fail to tell your customer and the customer is allergic you could be sued!!!

I believe the owner only says this because they have soo many problems with the language barrier that they can't get the orders correct and the owner refuses to fix the problem with the customer

Food is good but they have a very hard time getting things correct and poor customer service when they do something wrong.

We just move into the area last year from San Mateo having worked in SF for many years. We love Chinese food and Sushi and we never thought a restaurant could do both well until we found Lucys. What a pleasant surprise. From the moment you walk in, you realize this is not your father's Chinese restaurant or your mother's Japanese restaurant. The decor is cozy yet exciting. The food is exceptional and I can't believe they can make the most delicious Honey Walnut Prawns and also make a Sushi roll called Godzilla that just satiates my palate. We've gone back 3 times in the past month and we are simply hooked. We are going down the menu trying different things and so far we have not been disappointed. The only area where they need to improve is service. We are not expecting French Laundry level service but when they get busy, service is perfunctory but I will take that trade off as long as the food is this amazing.

Cons: Service drops when they get busy

Having read the glowing reviews (Contra Costa Times, etc.), and hearing several favorable word-of-mouth comments, arrived all set for a great dining experience. Was unprepared for the cavernous (and noisy) dining area. Service was semi-fast but perfunctory. Tried some sushi and the tempura shrimp as starters---and decided it wasn't worth wasting time and money on anything else on the menu. This place will probably survive because it appears popular with younger locals and families who might not think they have other options. There are so many better places to try, why go here unless your car breaks down and you're stranded in the parking lot....

Pros: None that I can think of

Cons: Food and prices

Lucy's Asia Bistro is newly located in the Sand Creek Shopping Center near Raley's right off the Highway 4 Bypass. This restaurant offers awesome variety of fresh Chinese and Thai dishes in addition to an awesome Sushi bar that offers the standard Sushi and some wonderful roll combinations. Their appetizer combo is served flaming and is very tasty. The only minor drawback is that unlike most Asian restaurants where you can get relatively inexpensive combo dinners, here you only order one entree per every two people. The food is extremely fresh!

PROS: Fresh, Tasty, Variety
CONS: Crowded, Can be Pricey
