District 68's Early Childhood Center

My husband and I are thrilled with District 68's Early Childhood Center. Our three year old currently attends and we plan to send our two year old next year.

In short, we are nothing less than awestruck by the dedication and experience-level of the teachers (our daughter's teacher has taught in this program for 21 years!). The programming is innovative, the staff welcoming and we've found that our daughter is blossoming under the schools careful, nurturing, and educationally sound approach.

I say this as a parent and an educator who was obsessed with making the right preschool choice; I observed public and private programs in Skokie, Chicago, and throughout the North Shore, had endless conversations with family and friends about the many options out thereonly to conclude that the public system in Skokie provided the best pre-school experience possible.

In conversations with parents, we've found that we are not alone. Many are surprised at how few people know of this resource. Highly recommended.

PROS: Affordable; qualified, experienced and caring teachers; low S-T ratio
CONS: 3-day a week program is only in afternoon;
