Oh the Pru. The funny thing about it is that it's connected to Copley Place, which is much more lavish and out of most people's price range. Though the Pru side is a bit more affordable, both areas kind of give up the wealthy, upper-class vibe. The more affordable stores located in the Pru include Aldo, Arden B, The Body Shop, Sephora, and a few others. It also contains a food court (filled with your everyday fast food chains) and restaurants like the Cheesecake Factory, PF Chang's, Wagamama, and Legal Sea Foods (but then there's also the super swanky and super overpriced Top of the Hub and the Skywalk, but those are pretty much reservation only). If you'd like to venture over the brigeway thingy and into Copley Place, you'll find more upper scale stores like designer brands Louis Vuitton and Gucci (among many others) and also pricey (but totally worth the splurge) restaurants like Osushi and Turner Fisheries. Either way, come here with a wad of money or prepare to be let down. Unless of course you like aimlessly window shopping, that's fine too, and the outside area is beautiful on a warm day.

Pros: great place to visit if you like looking preppy

Cons: you better look the part or else prepared to get stink eyed!

Stores at prudential center are good. They are a bit expensive and are good for window shopping. I enjoy eating an ice cream and taking a walk around the center.

The Shopa At Prudential Center are very good. We enjoy walking through the mall and window shopping. They have alot of Boston Sports related items. It is hard for my visually impaired husband though as their are many stairs.

The Shops At Prudential Center are a great place to shop while in Boston The stores are a bit upscale but they have a lot of choices. They have a nice food court with a lot choices. The Prudential Building is attached so you can go up to the top and see Boston from the top. It is a great place to go while in Boston.

I go here regularly to visit Legal Sea Food, I particularly like the service at the Legal Sea Food in this location. I wouldn't call the stores or their pricing "cheap" but bargains can be found if you search

The Prudential shops are known for its high priced merchandise, but the Backbay shops downstairs (1st floor) have a great variety of inexpensive items to choose from. I bought a nice leather jacket for only $99.99 from Chealsea Thomson's leather boutique. They even have jackets that cost $69.99! The quality is good, and it costs much less than Wilson's leather jackets. Besides leather jackets there are candle stores, toy stores, etc...
The only con is that the Backbay Holiday sale closes after Christmas.

I go there for window shopping, as these are expensive stores. I like walking around the store fronts and see all the glitz of the place, but I rarely buy from here. It costs money to park underground, so try to find street parking or take the T or the bus. Usually, I end up walking along Newbury Street after shopping at Copley, for more window shopping.

In Short
The Pru's stores include chain stores like Levi's (staff will take your measurements and custom make a pair of jeans), Ann Taylor and Saks Fifth Avenue. Kiosks in the center of the aisles sell everything from hair…
