I am usually really thick skinned when it comes to various characters you tend to encounter in our very diverse city but my experience today at this establishment has compelled me to write this excerpt out in absolute disgust!\r

As a frequent MoMA visitor, I used to enjoy stopping by Connolly's across the street afterwards for a few beers and some appetizer's, where the cheery Irish service is usually very warm and friendly. On a recent visit, however, myself and some friends were greated by a rather cold bartender who appeared put off by us from the very first. When it came time to order, I asked for a recommendation of "a light Irish beer on draft" and he said I should look at the menu. I did so, and didn't know from the long list which might be closest to my wish... I asked him again and he said they didn't have any light Irish beers, so I just ordered something else. My friend ordered a Harp, and when I saw that it was "light" I asked the bartender for a Harp. He then said, "OK but you'll have to pay for the other one." Yes, I realize that. Duh. So rude, but also it was his fault for not even mentioning the Harp when I had asked, which PS, another waiter at the same place had recommended to me in the past in response to the same question. Ok, so yes a Harp is a lager, not a "light beer" but he could have mentioned it. Then he tries to be all fake jolly treating us like tourists: "SO, WHERE YOU GUYS FROM?" Please. Never treat a New Yorker like a Tourist. It's insulting. He continued on with a bad attitude towards us for the rest of the evening. I was so turned off by him that honestly I don't ever want to go back there again! Great for Tourists, Two thumbs down for locals!

Pros: location and beers

Cons: service

We go to many pubs for lunch while working in the city. This is on our lists of favorites. They are expensive but most of New York city is. It is about $12.00 for a hamburger and a few fries.

This palce was just a block from a trade show I went to at the Hilton. The bartender and staff were friendly, it was reasonable priced, and the food was very good. I would recommend stopping by. In fact, I stopped by for at least a short time to have a beer every day I was there.

The food, atomospher, and service were excellent. They provide a basket of assorted breads with your meal, but the bread could have been the meal, it was so delicious. They have a wide variety of food's to choose from and the prices are reasonable, for New York.
