New store has no steps so easier to move around. It's still located in the same building but on the corner. Beads are abundant and lovely. New manager was very friendly as was the rest of the staff.

Yes, The Beadin' Path has a vast selection, that's undeniable. Their Lucite collection is bottomless and impressive. Prices are average to slightly higher than average for certain things. Busy shop, too; the floor was full of browsers and potential customers the day I visited.

The inventory certainly does the talking and advertising when it comes to selling The Beadin' Path to the crafty masses.

The help, however, is what has turned me off. Rather lacking in personality, in my opinion, all the way around, they seemed bored and somewhat aloof as I observed them.

I was not even greeted by ANYONE when I walked in. I went by the front counter and probably could have stolen the entire checkout-area inventory before the two young ladies noticed I was there, as they were fairly engrossed in conversation with each other and made no eye contact with me whatsoever.

I'm a veteran beader, with a good eye for finds (translation: I LIKE TO SPEND MY FUN MONEY ON QUALITY ITEMS!!!!!), and I certainly won't hesitate to take my business elsewhere. I've gotten better, more interested, and friendlier, service farther North.

Very helpful staff and easily accessible parking. Has a wide range of beads, from Lucite to glass to fine gems. Also a large selction of findings - silver chains, hooks and fasteners. Great for all levels of beaders.

My mother and I come to Freeport every year (I live in New York, she lives in Florida), and she frequented this store this summer. She wanted to write in response to another review, she was upset by it and all she can talk about is how great the staff is that this store has. This is what she had to say:

The Beadin Path is a store I now love. I think the previous submission be not right, there is no indoor ramp for wheelchair but these girls have a plan where they use the two outside doors for handicap only. I saw them, the employee takes your basket of beads and hold them inside so another girl wheels the wheelchair outside and up a ramp to a second door. I see it is better than nothing and better than other stores with nothing. I see that a handicap is not something for a lot of employees at a retailer would know what to deal with.

Some women stood out to me because there were several very friendly women who help me even thouh I have a heavy accent I think many Americans have trouble to hear me. I know there is a woman who speaks French I am not sure Spanish. One young lady who helped a deaf customer with signing while the young girls shunned her. I tell the girl with the signing she is good and she is so nice that another employee an older woman says she is the best. Then the other woman tells me about shells for earrings and helps me to make some. The girls I think go beyond to communicate because not all of us can speak the same language so well. The employees are helpful and beatiful with the only of a few girls whom I think would just be summer help. Those girls were who ignored customers to talk instead. I made necklaces and earrings with the women who work there. They are all beautiful. There is a woman as well who I see making beads with a family and a little girl makes a pink bracelet with beads for just children. This to me says that beads is for all people of all types and ages. I am new to beads but I think it is hard to find so many beads in another place. I will love to come back again.

The store seems to have a good assortment of beads; however, it is not fully compliant with the ADA. It is on two levels with no inside ramp. The handicapped parking is about as far from either of the entrances as you can get.

The staff is a group of remarkably disinterested young women who have no idea how to help anyone who is physically challenged and who appear to have no interest in even trying. (I'm not sure they are terribly interested in helping non-disabled customers.) I felt like a piece of garbage trying to reach things and see things. I asked for help repeatedly, but was ignored. I left in tears, having bought nothing.

Your money is best spent elsewhere. Find another store -- one that welcomes ALL customers!
