5 Stars: Great sports massage! (by mgrunsNY)

I found this place while I was training for the marathon. I had been going to another spa but heard about Ohm so decided to give them a try. The massages at Ohm are head and shoulders above the other place. My therapist was very well trained and I could tell within the first 2 minutes that she was an expert. Went back a couple of times leading up to the race. Each time, it was fantastic. Make sure you book in advance. I haven't been able to get a same-day appointment but your luck my be different.

5 Stars: Excellent Surprise! (by mkslr)

My family knows I'm a spa junkie so they got me a gift card for my birthday. Finally got around to using it after about six months and it was awesome! I asked for deep tissue and actually had to ask the massage therapist to ease up because she was applying too much pressure (how often does that happen?). I'm petite, so usually when I go for a massage, they go way too light because they're afraid of hurting me. I really appreciated that this place actually took my feedback into account when I booked for deep tissue. Thumbs up!

5 Stars: My number 1 spa!!! (by jnt1103)

I've had multiple massages and facials here and every single time has been amazing. I feel so clean and relaxed whenever I come out. The place is sooo clean and peaceful. I think all the snacks and the refreshing drinks in the waiting room are a great touch. it really gives you that extra feel that you're getting the best of everything. The products that they use smell wonderful and feel wonderful. The staff are also so welcoming and polite and they know just how to treat a client whether for a huge package or a simple eyebrow wax. The prices are up there, but I think it's worth it just to know that you're always going to be getting one of the best spa experiences. I don't go too often (once every 3-4 months) so it makes sense that when I do, that it's the best.

5 Stars: Great, great massage (by NYCCPA)

Went with my boyfriend for Valentine's Day. We both agreed it was the best massage we've ever had. Even though it was quite busy when we arrived, the receptionist was very friendly and accommodated us very quickly. The decor is comfortable and modern - nice but not over-the-top. It's not a very large spa - they have lockers but not a true "locker room." No showers either but I didn't find that to be a problem. My massage was very thorough. Even though the hour went by quickly, when I got up off the table and walked around, my body felt better than after any other massage I had before. Best of all, they are very good about accepting gift cards. I've been to other spas that give you a hard time when you use a gift card (restrictions, inferior service, bad attitude, etc) but at Ohm, they couldn't have been nicer. We would go back tomorrow if we could.

2 Stars: Way over-rated (by anjelik32)

I received a spa package to Ohm for Christmas from my boyfriend (he got this because of all the great reviews and because I said I didn't like the seaweed body wrap at Oasis Day Spa). The changing area was a closet (literally) and the over-all space did not have a spa atmosphere (I've been to my fair share of luxury spas). My manicure/pedicure was very relaxing (standard - nothing special though).. I zoned out and watched a movie for 2 hours. My facial was mediocre; there was no upper body massage or anything else I've had at other spas Also, the girl [though a very nice person] wouldn't stop talking to me and I had a hard time relaxing. I didn't want to be rude, but to be honest who really wants to talk while they are getting a facial? And lastly, my massage was probably one of the worst I've ever gotten. I told the girl on 3 different occasions that I'd like her to focus on my back and shoulders - once in the beginning, once when I sensed she was about to flip me over (when she then asked if I wanted the session to be all about my back and I said, "yes 95%") and then once more when I was already on my back (hoping she would get the hint and flip me back over), but instead she proceeded to try and massage me in an awkward position while on my back. The walls were also super thin and I could hear people giggling in the next room. This is the first time I've never fallen asleep during a massage. I've NEVER wanted a massage to be finished in my life, until yesterday. I have had much better massages at Kneaded Body Works and Oasis Day Spa.

5 Stars: Amazing massage, a great find! (by UWSmomof4)

I have to admit I'd never heard of Ohm Spa so when I received a gift card for Christmas I really didn't know what to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised and I would definitely recommend them wholeheartedly. When I got there I was greeted very warmly and presented with a robe and slippers. Their changing room is small but private. After filling out a form, they showed me to their lounge which was quite beautiful - I was relaxed already! Shortly thereafter a very nice lady (Jess) introduced herself and brought me into her room. Let me tell you she is amazing! I was in a semi-dream-like state the entire time and probably could have stayed on that table for another hour if they let me. It was so good I almost felt guilty for enjoying it so much. It was really hard to leave and go back into the cold but I know I'll be going back.

5 Stars: I felt like a new woman! (by rjmiles)

My boyfriend surprised me with a full day package at Ohm and I was so pampered I didn't want to leave! Even before I knew what was going on, they wished me a happy birthday which was so nice because I didn't even have to say anything. I had the deep-tissue massage which was incredible, then the facial which left my skin silky smooth and the pedicure and manicure which was the best I've ever had. It was the most amazing birthday present especially since I've been so stressed out lately with work, family, etc. Guys, if you ever want a special gift for your special someone, this is the place to go!

5 Stars: Relaxing couple massage (by bentree)

That was my first time having a couple massage and first time having a spa at nyc. One of my friends went to Ohm spa on her birthday for a couple massage, and they really like it. So I decided to try it out myself.
When I made the reservation, the staff sounded very friendly and they asked for me and my boyfriend's shoe sizes, so they could prepare slippers for us. The atmosphere was relaxing and gave customers a calm feeling. The staff showed us the changing room, then led us to the waiting lounge. Various snacks and drinks were offered. 5 mins later, two ladies came and introduced themselves. They gave us a form to fill in, so they would have a brief idea of our massage history and which body parts we wanted to get massaged.
The couple room was combined by two single rooms. So me and my boyfriend did not really get to sleep side-by-side, we were lined in a straight line (my head was pointing to his). The light was dim and comfortable. We had a hot stone massage for 60 mins. From time to time, the massage ladies would ask how was I feeling, so they were very considerate.
One thing that I might consider as a con was the price. 60 mins costs $320 including gratuities, because Ohm spa does not offer a specific couple spa package, it is a la carte (combination of two individual massages) and carried out in a couple's room.
Overall, I think the spa experience was really nice. I might go back to Ohm Spa, but for now, I'll try other places for couple massages and do some comparison.

5 Stars: A lovely experience (by Encantada)

The receptionist was gracious and attentive. (I asked where I could find the wall-mounted bowls I admired in the spa, and on my way out she gave me a print-out of the website where I could order them.) My massage was wonderful, and the waiting room was comfy, with fresh fruit, infused water, and other nibbles. There was absolutely no pressure to buy products. I'll definitely return!

5 Stars: Best spa I've ever been to! (by erikakeiko)

I've been to many spas because I love manicures, pedicures and massages. I just lover pampering myself! My boyfriend gave me a gift certificate for a Signature Mani/Pedi and OMG it was amazing!!! The staff is extremely kind and soft-spoken. The ambiance was calming and very soothing. I went on a Friday after a long week of work and was so relaxed right when I walked in. I only had the mani/pedi, which came out PERFECT but I will definitely use their services from now on. Trust me, I've been to many spas around the city and this is by far the best I've been to! I can't wait to try their massages!!

5 Stars: Best Massage I've EVER had in New York (by uptownishnyc)

Hey all--

So, I had never heard of Ohm... but a friend had given me a gift certificate for a 90 minute custom massage. I had the gift certificate for awhile, but could never find time to get away for 90 minutes (obviously my friends know me well and that I am a stress case and a half-- lol). Anyway, my Birthday rolled around on the 10th, so I decided there wasn't a better time to use it. So I booked the massage with Adam.

Hands down, the best massage I have ever recieved. It was the exact right mixture of relaxing swedish-type massage, with just the right amount of deeper tissue work and joint mobilization. Often you either feel like someone just put sunscreen on your back for an hour, or the deep tissue work was so intense you can't move for two days. This was truly just perfect. Adam, if you read this, you have (another) loyal customer. Truly a great massage.

I am always wary of walking into a new spa... you either get the over-the-top holistic approach, the now-serving-number-89 spa factory (which just isn't very blissful), or in a guy's case, the dirty run down certain spa on 14th street that bill's itself as high end but is about as relaxing as listening to a construction zone and isn't worth a dime-- luckily their name even states it ;). Ohm was truly the perfect blend of simple, straight forward design, with enough environment to allow even the most stressed out NYer relax, and without all of the frills that make a guy feel uncomfortable in some spas in the city.

I was worried about the fact that there were no showers... as sometimes after a massage you feel completely oily, but even that was used perfectly, so that I didn't feel like I needed to rush into the shower so as not to stain my clothes with massage oils.

Truly an outstanding experience, and I will be back.

5 Stars: Heavenly! (by adw1980)

This is probably no secret and they certainly don?t need the publicity but I just wanted to share how wonderful my experience was at Ohm. I know there are a thousand places in the city to get a massage and in fact many of them might be cheaper than Ohm but if there were ever a perfect example of ?you get what you pay for,? this place would be it. I went there after a horrendous 10-hour flight (in coach) and my back was hurting so much I couldn?t even carry my handbag. So I booked a massage and simply could not believe how restored and transformed I felt afterwards. The decor is elegant but not over-the-top, the people there are all uber-nice and best of all, the massages are really excellent. I can?t wait to go back!

5 Stars: Best Bachelorette Spa Day EVER!!! (by mtoni)

One of my dearest friends is getting married. All of the bridesmaids live in different cities. We decided to do our bachelorette weekend here in NYC, so alot of the planning fell on me. I can't tell you how stressed I was trying to find a quality spa for a reasonable price!! A friend recommended Ohm and with just less than two weeks away I figured why not give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised!! When I called the receptionist was so accomodating and she never rushed me. She explained all my options. She also told me she could split up the bride's services between us bridesmaids and include the gratuity which immediately put me at ease. (The last thing I wanted to do was stand there infront of the bride while we figured out the total) We went on August 30th. Upon our arrival the receptionist knew our names and even said Congratulations to the bride and treated her with such care. We changed into the MOST COMFORTABLE robes and slippers I have ever worn. We waited in this adorable room with snacks and fruit infused water and tons of magazines!! Basically my heaven. Our massages were fantastic. My massage therapist went over what kinds of lotions and oils I was sensitive to as I had written down that I had very sensitive skin. She was so attentive to where I was sore and gave me some great suggestions for stretching out some particularly tight areas on my body. Our bride also had a mani/pedi and kept telling me how it was the best she ever had. She loved that she could watch a movie on a big flat screen TV and just relax. Overall, what I loved most about Ohm was the atmospehere, clean, quiet, comforting, and the service. Everyone from the owners to the ladies who kept bringing in more snacks were friendly, gracious, and sincere (nothing fake about this place). My girlfriends and I are already looking for an excuse to go back together. Thanks so much to Ohm Spa for taking so much stress of me and making it so easy to plan a special day of friendship!!!

3 Stars: A mixed experience (by philoclea)

I had a gift certificate for a 60 min massage and a manipedi, gratuity included, so I really didn't have to worry about that side of things.

Service: Amazing. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. I loved that my masseuse was careful around my weak spots, and really focused on what I wanted. All the staff in the manicure room were on "service" mode. (For example, since the movie I was watching hadn't ended when I went to the dryer, the staff members were thoughtful enough to direct me to a seat where I could finish watching the movie.)

The decor: I was enchanted with it. I loved the little room where you get to sit and read magazines in a spa bathrobe, nibbling on fruit and dark chocolate and little cookies, and sipping herbed water and lemonade. Exquisite.

Massage: Even if I had been paying the admittedly steep price myself, it would have been more than worth it. It was softer than I expected. but it left me much more relaxed than the deep massages I'm used to. And that relaxation continued for days. The warmth of the bed did even more to relax me and the aromatherapy just took me into another world. Basically, since this massage, I've been trying to figure out how I can afford to go for another one on my budget. It was that great.

Mani-Pedi: Horrible. Ok, I feel terrible for writing this, for having to write this, because the woman who did it was really very sweet and friendly, quite a delight, but she gave me the worst mani-pedi I've ever had. The advertised exfoliation and massage were barely perfunctory. When she cut and filed my toenails it hurt. Not only did the nailpolish start chipping the next day on both hands and feet, but the cuticles were poorly removed. And, worst of all, she had cut my toenails unevenly, so that it took me weeks to grow them out and cut them normally.

This would have been an incompetent mani-pedi job if it had cost $20. At $75 it's unforgivable. The mani-pedi at Ohm was basically worse than none at all.

5 Stars: Fantastic Facial Great Nail Salon (by Zwife)

My husband got me an Ohm Spa gift card for my birthday. He included all the gratuities so I didn't have to worry about a thing! I entered, the receptionist was nice and sent me to the changing room. I don't know what other people are talking about, but the room was a nice size, and unlike other spas you change ALONE. Complete privacy! You are given a wrap that buttons and a robe to put over it. Not to mention a locker to lock up all your stuff. I was then sent to the waiting/relaxation area. It is SO gorgeous inside, candles everywhere, beautiful lighting, modern clean furniture. There was tea, fruit water, chocolate, fruit, oreos etc. There was a wide array of magazines. There is this beautiful serene music playing throughout the whole place. Britta greeted me to start on my facial. She removed my makeup, and analyzed my skin under a special light. she had me lie down and adjusted the bed to make me feel comfortable. She told me I have normal skin, a couple of blackheads. She thouroughly cleansed and exfoliated my face, put a mask on, something very soothing on my eyes. She used an instrument to extract the blackheads, and she did so practically effortlessly. There was one that I had for years and couldn't get rid of and she did it in a few seconds! She also steamed my face with soothing scented elixers. She then massaged my face neck and decollatage.it was amazing, so relaxing. When it was over I was sad! I never knew facials could feel so GOOD. Britta was so nice to me and did a fantastic job, she never once tried to push her products on me, and did not lie to me in any way.My face was glowing! Next I went for my mani/pedi. There was a very nice asian woman that did it. The nail salon is gorgeous, there is a massaging chair and at least FOUR flat screen tvs playing movies. I saw "what happens in vegas". She did an awesome job on my hands and feet. The owner also came aorund and asked me how everything was and offered me something to drink. Checkout was effortless.

I wasn't sure what to expect as I've had negative spa experiences at other places in the city, but I was pleasantly surprised and ended up having an incredible birthday experience. I arrived and was immediately greeted by a very friendly receptionist who knew my name as I walked in. The ambiance was very peaceful- candles, relaxing colors, and betta fish in in bowls attached to the walls. She showed me into the changing room which was very clean and quiet. I changed into a nice robe and slippers and was then ushered into the waiting area. There were trays of healthy snacks and a cooler of fruit infused water, a very nice touch. I had my massage first, I recommend Adam, he was incredible. It was such a relaxing hour, and to date the best massage I've ever had. He asked me for my trouble spots before beginning and I almost fell asleep, it was so relaxing. Then I had my facial by Britta who had such a soothing touch, she made me feel so pampered. She did a great job with the extractions, the least painful experience I'd ever had, and I left with very clean and glowing skin. Not once did she push products on me! My day ended with a fantastic mani/pedi given by Ada in a very nice room with comfortable chairs and flat screen tvs. I ate lunch while she gave me a pedicure. What I presumed to be the spa owner even came up to me, addressed me by name and asked if I was having a nice birthday. For anyone who wants to be pampered for the day and have the ultimate relaxing experience- Ohm Spa is for you! I had a wonderful time and will absolutely be back!!

4 Stars: Best Massage, Very Clean & Comfortable.. Great Service (by jnwalter)

I went to Ohm Spa today for a treat for myself for my birthday and walked away very happy and relaxed. As a person who is also in the spa industry its great to find spots that really work. I dont often write reviews but i have to say I always think it great to give kudos who do a great job. I had a really wonderful massage with Adam and I highly recommend his work. The place was clean and calm and not to over the top and that was highly appreciated.. While the place is not very big it is inviting.. would love them to put in showers but other than that I will return without a doubt! Thanks guys for very relaxing birthday!

5 Stars: Amazing Customer Service, Friendly, Clean & the BEST Great Massage Therapist! (by desmarr)

This is my second visit to Ohm Spa. I was going for a massage and on the recommendation of my sister, I requested Adam- she said his massages were heavenly. She was spot on. I have never had a male massage therapist before (btw the word "masseuse" is female-specific. It is massage therapist or "masseur". :-)) Adam was friendly, down to earth, professional and more importantly- good at his job! He used all these different techniques which proves he continues to further his education. He custom created the perfect massage for me and targeted every area that bothered me. My best massage ever!!! Most massages I have had just "feel good"- this massage was truly therapeutic and heavenly. If I were rich I would go every day. BTW the male owner was super nice as well and very accommodating. The place is also super clean! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

4 Stars: Quality Massage, nice atmosphere! (by LMKINGSHOP)

I decided to make an appt after reading all the wonderful reviews. I am glad I did.
For the last 3 years I have had massages weekly from a wonderful woman who was trained in deep tissue, therapeutic & muscle activation disciplines. She handles massage for many pro football, soccer, tennis athletes. She is very talented & has extensive experience handling back issues (of which I have many). I have VERY high standards when it comes to massage & I know what type of massage I need. I was worried I wouldn't easily find any comparable massage in NYC when I came for 8 months for work.

I scheduled a 90 minute deep tissue massage & 30 minute mini-facial. The staff are friendly, not too chatty (thankfully), well trained/experienced & professional. My facial was relaxing & enjoyable.

I had a few minutes to relax in between facial & massage which was nice. They have a nice range of nibbles to snack on; from cookies, crackers, chocolate, to fruits. It was nice to see more than just rabbit food!

The massage started with Nicole asking pertinent questions which emphasized her bredth of experience. I found this very reassuring. I am VERY clear on what I do & don't want in a massage. I was happy to see she paid attention. Nicole gave me a FABULOUS massage, following my direction very well. Historically I've found that the first 2-3 times a new person works on you is the learning curve & not usually the best experience. Nicole is the exception. Though this was the 1st time she has worked on me, she came in just a little below the woman who has been working on me for 6 years. BRAVO!

The massage was expensive, though I felt the price was worth it given the quality. If it was a little cheaper I could afford to go more often, which would be nice. I thought the locker/changing room format was a bit awkward, but not enough to deter me from returning.

All in all...... WONDERFUL! Quality Massage, great treatment professionals, cheerful staff.

5 Stars: amazing facial by britta (by itookawalk)

my skin has been transformed since i started seeing britta a few months ago...i've gone from dry and splotchy to even and hydrated! i love everything about this place...maybe not the best place if you're looking for 100% privacy, but i never felt crowded or rushed by anyone and i, frankly, care more about leaving with a very very clean face than anything else :)

5 Stars: BEST spa and very accomodating (by J8L)

I've been to Ohm numerous times alone, with friends, and with my boyfriend, and we've ALWAYS had a great experience. I even had a spa day planned for my best friend's pre-bachlorette party here, and Kathy made the time spent very enjoyable. She set up a table for us, brought out our champagne, exotic cake, utensils, supplied champagne flutes and a knife for us. The massage technicians remember us, there's always a good movie to watch during the mani/pedi services, and the treats in the lounge area are awesome!

5 Stars: The ONLY place to go for massage!!! (by skinmd21)

I've known about Ohm for a long time but never had the chance to go until last week - and it was an excellent experience! They have a very nice balance of being luxurious without being stuffy, friendly without being fake and upscale without being expensive. As a doctor, I appreciated their clinical approach to massage. My attendant was very fluid with her technique and seemed very connected with me throughout the session. I've been to lesser places that simply pound on you with no apparent rhyme or reason but Ohm has a very refined, professional process. I felt significantly better when I left and already plan on going back next month.

5 Stars: Best waxing ever (by DeanONeill)

I have been getting waxed for the last 4 years and the wax i got from OHM located at 260 5th ave NY was the best by far. Whatever they use as products and their technique used by Ada my skin looked perfect. Virtually no pain compared to all the other waxes i have got and the best result. If you ever need any waxing done you should try this place because its the best in the world i have found. Thanks again OHM. Dean from Australia.

5 Stars: Awesome!!! (by divinespirit)

If only I knew about Ohm when I first started going to spas! My friends all know that I love getting pampered so they always get me gift cards for my birthday and for Christmas, so I?ve been to lots of them around the city ? some good, some ok, some just plain awful. This year I got a gift card to Ohm and that?s it, I?m done! From now on, this is the place I?ll be asking for each year. Everyone who works there is so nice, so down-to-earth and so cheerful. I really felt as though I was among long lost friends. It?s not the biggest spa and it doesn?t have all the amenities like a sauna, steam room or jacuzzi but that?s a small price to pay for the best damn massage this side of Thailand. It?s the spa equivalent of one of those small, out-of-the-way restaurants that people fight to get in to because the food is so good. For me, it?s the first spa that I would actually go to with my own money instead of waiting to get a gift card. And as all my friends know, that?s saying a lot.

5 Stars: Lovely Spa, Would Definitely Recommend (by alotofsoul)

My mom and I visited Ohm and spent the afternoon getting massages, manicures and pedicures. We had a wonderful time and left feeling like we couldn't wait to go back. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and they gave us just the right amount of personal attention. Not so much that we felt crowded, but not so little that we felt ignored. I came out of my massage feeling looser than I had been in years and my mom said it was the best massage she ever had. My nail service was very thorough and left my skin feeling baby-soft. My mom said her manicure lasted over 2 weeks! Overall, this place scored big points with us. The service is first-rate, the prices are reasonable and the people are very nice. The only downside is that they don't have showers and the wait to get an appointment can be long. I reserved almost 2-months in advance, which seemed outrageous at the time but after going there, I can understand why.

1 Stars: Not what it's cracked up to be (by Veeeeeeeee)

For starters -parking was rather difficult. I received a spa package for my birthday which included a couples massage, a spa manicure and pedicure. Honestly, the massage was okay though it seemed rather rushed. The spa pedicure was horrible! I thought (for the amount he paid) that they would do a lot more than rub some nasty cream on you. Other than that, the pedicure was like ANY noprmal pedicure you have received anywhere else. The place was crowded (NO PRIVACY AT ALL), loud and obnoxious! As for the manicure...they did not do acrylic or any type of silk wrapping on your nails. The job was sloppy and two people did my manicure. One lady argued to the other manicurest to finish my manicure which I found to be rather rude. I kept my mouth shut, said thank you and walked right out that door. I will never go there again, nor do I recommend it to anyone!

5 Stars: Custom massage totally hits the spot! (by DishyIshy)

From the moment I walked into Ohm, I felt very pampered...from the warm, friendly greeting to the right-sized robe and slippers (they had asked me for my shoe size in advance), to the relaxing lounge area...and then came the best massage I've ever had! I usually go for either European or warm stone massages, but this time decided to go for Ohm's custom massage at the recommendation of the receptionist I spoke with when I first called - and boy, was it custom!! My wonderful masseuse, Nicole, took a few minutes at the beginning of the session to find out what I was looking for (medium to firm pressure focusing on my neck and shoulders) and then proceeded to work her magic...soothing aromatherapy, deep tissue for the really bad spots, hot towels and finally peppermint oil. I was tingling for hours afterwards!! To top it all off, she even gave me some tips to avoid stiffness and soreness on an ongoing basis (epsom salt baths, increased water intake, heat pads on my shoulders for 10 to 15 minutes followed by neck stretches).
After the heavenly massage, I was treated to a wonderful mani-pedi combo by Jojo...the sweetest nail tech you'll ever meet. While giving me a foot massage, she even gave me some health tips based on her reflexology knowledge...plus I got to watch "Becoming Jane" - a total chick flick if ever there was one & I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's been several days and my manicure is still perfect & I really liked the fact that Jojo wrapped my feet prior to me putting socks and winter boots on, so that the pedicure wouldn't get ruined...which it didn't.
I'm headed back for a honey facial next week & hopefully Nicole can fit me in again for another custom massage right after...HIGHLY recommend this place!!!

5 Stars: the best spa in nyc (by kimcz)

a self proclaimed spa-aholic, i've been to my share of spas but Ohm spa is hands down the best spa ever. Kathy, the owner, is always very friendly and warm and makes you feel very comfortable from the moment you walk in.
I sit in an office chair for 15 hrs a day so I get very knotted in my shoulders but the massages I recieve there are amazing and always feel light on my feet afterwards. I have yet to get a facial but I always hear great things.
It's always a stand by place for gift certs for all those bridal showers and bday gifts and all my friends rave about the service. I highly recommend this place!

5 Stars: Best Spa in NYC!!! (by tracyacnp)

Once again, Ohm Spa does not disappoint. I have not been to the Spa in almost a year; however, they remembered me with my just walking into the door yesterday on 01/17/08. Everyone at the facility is so genuinely warm. Paula greeted me with a hug and was extremely pleasant as the first time. I had a manuka honey facial again and absolutely loved it. Paula uses a mixture of soothing tone of voice, quiet music, aromatherapy, and amazing hands to completely relax you. Even the extractions are not bad because you are soooo relaxed. Although the price may seem high when you look at it, the amount of service you receive is well worth that price. I had a facial from one other place, and I can honestly say that there is truly no comparison. Give this play a try. Trust me. You'll be hooked.

5 Stars: Excellent service at a reasonable price (by rachelxoxo)

I've had a hard time finding a good spa in NY since moving here from LA 6 months ago, but I'm done looking after going to Ohm. So far I've had 2 massages, a manicure and a pedicure and all were top notch. I even brought my boyfriend who is a massage fanatic and now he's hooked too. Best of all, they're not as expensive as some other spas for the quality of service you get. Next time I'll try their facials but the wait is seriously long so call in advance. The only downside is they don't have showers or a large changing area but I don't mind showering at home anyway. Overall, a great find.

I have had a manicure and pedicure at Ohm, as well as a massage. It was the most unbelievable experience ever! The attention to detail was extraordinary.
2 Stars: Strange pressure on feet rather than massage (by bobbycat)

I decided to book my 60 minute at Ohm Spa due to the many great reviews on Citysearch. I have to say that I was disappointed. I asked for medium pressure. This did not happen, but more what seemed like light rubbing. Before the massage, I noted that my neck and back are the places where I tend to hold the most stress and tension. For some reason, my massage therapist spent a great deal of time on my feet. She was not massaging them, but just gently cupping them for long periods of time. It was very strange. I was also distracted during my massage as the walls were very thin between rooms and I could hear other people walking and talking. I think a white noise machine would have helped. The small changing area and single bathroom was not that relaxing along with the cramped waiting room. I will not go back or refer any of my friends.

1 Stars: Not a full service spa (by spaexpertnyc)

If are you looking for a luxurious day spa - look elsewhere. If you are a looking for a last minute spa booking and to watch dvd's while getting a pedicure -- this is the place!
Last time I visited the spa I went for a 90 min deep tissue (actually received 60 mins all over body and 30 min foot reflexology which I didn't ask for or desire. my guess was her petite hands were too tired to finish the job) and also a 60 min signature facial (the esthetician actually rolled her eyes at me when I said I didn't really know what I wanted done).
The treatments actually left me feeling tense and in need of ...um... a MASSAGE!
I have been to a dozen spas in NYC; Skip this place unless you are desperate.

2 Stars: Ohm Spa (by shaynala)

Having read the mostly wonderful reviews (yet wondered why all the bad reviews were at the very end of the page) on Ohm Spa, I went there with my husband as "something different" and perhaps a step above from what we had experienced. We're big spagoers and have had tons of services and every type of massage imagineable in many states and countries. I thought the facial was very bad. They had me fill out a survey, asking specific questions about pressure. I said I liked firm pressure. The therapist seemed like she was caressing my face. It was extremely annoying. I told her that I'd like "firm" pressure, still no change. seemed unmotivate - no massage of neck, face, shoulders. Just cleansed, exfoliated and put a mask on. I was unhappy - it was actually the worst facial I'd ever had. After reading what a couple of other stated on the "tipping" policy, I can say both my husband and I were really taken back by how in your face the person at the desk got about the tip. The sign tells you how much of a tip to leave. We left 19% for every service except my facial, and again had to answer questions about why I chose to leave a lesser percentage. We both thought that was actually the biggest turnoff. It is no ones business how much tip one chooses to leave, and certainly the last thing someone needs is to be questioned about it. When we told them it didn't seem right for them to question what tip we were leaving they stated that the aestheticians don't understand if someone says they enjoyed the service and left a small tip. Well, I never said I enjoyed it! Tipping policy/pressure really needs to be addressed in this spa. We both had massages which were good (he loved his). I would not go back to this spa. I felt more annoyed when I left than when I came - I wish they would put some of the negative reviews in the beginning. In fairness I'd have to say it was clean and there were a wide array of snacks. Also, annoying that no one answers the phone.

2 Stars: Really? (by ccnyc2006)

After reading the reviews, I had fairly high expectations for this place. Frankly, I just do NOT understand the hype/positive reviews... I mean, have we [new yorkers] become accustomed to sub-par and pathetically cramped spa settings? In full disclosure, I'm the type of spa consumer who hopes for great services, but longs for a lovely/comfortable spa setting. Sadly, entering Ohm spa is like entering someone's cramped nyc apartment. Sure the place was clean, but it was cramped, poorly decorated (bright, cheap furniture), and hardly serene. The entire time I wondered if I was in the right spa because the reviews have been so tremendously positive. In terms of the actual services (we got massages), they were hardly remarkable. My particular masseuse wasn't particularly well-trained (would massage parts of my left side and neglect/forget the right side) and she spent a disproportionate amount of time on my feet (which seemed odd and it did not fit my needs). The only upside: the people at the front desk were very friendly. Next time, I'll save my cash for a spa setting (perhaps one of the many lux hotel spas in the city) where you can truly relax, take in your surroundings, and get your money's worth.

5 Stars: Wonderfully Relaxing Experience (by samhop225)

Holy cow - what a great massage! Ohm is the real deal. I went in looking for relief from a sore neck and shoulders and my therapist (they speak English!) knew exactly what to do. It's been a few days now and I still feel better. Other massages I've had elsewhere just seem to evaporate a few minutes after I leave. Their waiting room is probably the most relaxing spot in the entire city. Getting an appointment can be tough, but well worth the effort. While not 'cheap' you do get a lot for your money. I'd rather spend a little more and go to Ohm than waste it on place that treats you like a slab of meat.

3 Stars: Nice decor, good massage, overpriced manicure / pedicure (by naturallynatal)

When I first arrived at the spa, I was greeted very warmly by the receptionist who took my jacket and escorted me to the changing room with my own robe and slippers and key for a locker for my belongings. I was then brought into a waiting room, which was very nicely decorated. The whole spa had interesting touches around it from the hanging fish bowls to the lighting, etc. My first service was a full body massage, which was done rather well. Nothing specific to report - just an overall good massage. I then got changed and was escorted into the manicure / pedicure room. My manicurist/pedicurist was very accommodating and friendly, but my senses became overwhelmed by the brightly lit 3-screen television mani / pedi room coming from my soothing dimly lit massage and waiting room. It was rather shocking to my system, not to mention that the TV had on a stupid movie with loud sound effects and crying babies. Now, mind you, I love babies - even have a two-year old of my own. But this was my escape and to hear this on surround sound while getting my spa services was not exactly my form of relaxation (in addition to the woman next to me laughing loudly at every line in this movie). My technician noticed my discontent and called the manager over. The other woman had left already and the manager gladly turned the TVs off. Then, I got the over-friendly treatment. Being a native New Yorker, I just don't know how to handle that. I like friendly and then to me, being left alone knowing that the presence of service is there when I need it makes me more comfortable. It's a delicate art, I guess. All in all, okay. Let's put it this way - I didn't rush home to tell my friends about it.

5 Stars: Beyond Relaxing... (by shanasp)

This was the best facial I've ever had in the most relaxing and inviting spa I have ever been to. From the fruit infused water to the calming music and welcoming staff, Ohm Spa is a pleasure from beginning to end. A retreat from the congestion of NYC. The best part is that it doesn't have that factory feeling that most of the bigger chain spas have. It was my first time there and it most certainly won't be my last.

5 Stars: Wonderful Experience (by aschuermann)

My mom was coming to visit so we decided to book a mini spa day. We had the mani/pedi and facial package. I can not say enough about the staff's attention to detail. The mani/pedi was great (best massage chairs I've ever sat in) and the facial was amazing. I have never had a facial before because I was too worried about how my acne-prone, combination, and sensitive skin would react. I am no longer worried! The facial was amazing and my skin looks 10 times better after just 1 facial. There was no sales pressure at all and the entire experience was very relaxing. I will definitely go back.

1 Stars: Very dissapointed. (by natash85)

I was very disappointed with the facial I received at Ohm. It was supposed to be a ?deep pore cleansing? for acne prone skin but Britta, the ?aesthetician,? did not squeeze out a single pimple. The session was about 50 minutes long and she spent most of the time ?cleansing? my face with cleanser, massaging it lightly, and applying a honey mask. About 2 minutes were spent looking at my face under the light and ?cleaning? it. I walked away with the same pus filled blemishes I came with, and squeezed them out myself when I came home. My whole reason for seeing a ?professional? was to avoid the trauma and long healing time I cause when I pop my blemishes myself. But this girl was either afraid of pimples, disgusted by them, or blind. I really regret going to Ohm because it was such a waste of time and money. Not just the cost of the session but the hours of work I missed because of it. The pros at Ohm is that it is decorated nicely and comfortably and there is no sales pressure. But I came to get a deep cleansing facial and I didn?t get it.
At the end of my session I was asked for feedback but I was uncomfortable giving it since Britta was nearby. Instead I called later and spoke directly to the owner. He was polite but I felt that the only fair compensation would have been to offer me a compensated session with an experienced aesthetician, if only 20 minutes long, to take care of the trauma I did to my face by trying to squeeze what should have been squeezed out during my session with Britta but this wasn?t offered. I don?t recommend Ohm spa, or at least this ?aesthetician? (who trained her???) Britta. I?d be ashamed to do such a bad job.

5 Stars: Consistently Superb Service (by supermom07)

I can only speak for myself but I've been going to Ohm every month or 2 for about a year and its the only place I've ever found where I feel completely comfortable in their care. I've had everything from massages to facials to manicures and pedicures and every appointment I've had has been excellent. I've found the staff to be skilled, professional and organized. The space is modern, clean and well-decorated. And their prices are very reasonable for the level of service you get. I've gone to other spas (some that charge much more) and I'm convinced that dollar-for-dollar, Ohm is the best in the city. No gimmicks, no sales pressure - just great services by top people in a nice setting. I've noticed they have gotten considerably busier since I started going. The key is to go on a weekday if you can.

1 Stars: I left more tense than when I arrived... (by nolsonelm)

(How did this end up at the bottom of the reviews? I wrote it last night 8/14/07. Something is fishy about your organization)

I took my mother to Ohm last night for her birthday and was unimpressed with my service. When I first called to make the appointment I actually ended up speaking with the owner who assured me that each masseuse was hand picked by her and the treatment would not only relax us, but also leave our muscles worked and released. THIS WAS NOT MY EXPERIENCE.

First off, let me preface by saying my mother's masseuse was good, attentive and thorough. Also the rest of the spa staff was very nice and helpful. My masseuse however, was not.

I got on the table and as she began HER CELL PHONE WENT OFF, vibrating for about 2 minutes in my ear. Then when I asked her to adjust the pressure she said that she was just warming up my muscles and would use her elbows in order to really dig deep into my muscles, but effective pressure hardly ever happened. She spent most of the time on my back, which was nice, however then very briefly worked my arms and legs, leaving the rest of my body tense. I had purchased a custom massage which included Shiatsu and instead of feeling release as she pressed on my press points I just got more tense because the spots she was pressurizing.. were random and not doing anything but giving me a headache.

Needless to say I left the room very unhappy and with over a $200 bill to pay less than satisfied. From a spa with some much critical acclaim and recommendations I truly expected a wonderful experience. Guess I should have known when her cell phone went off...

1 Stars: Just plain tacky.... (by juji83)

This is really the grossest display of attempting to respond to a bad review that I have ever seen. Gratuity is the customer's choice and the establishment has no right to question their judgment. I could have said much worse comments and I find the fact that you chose to respond by disclosing my amount of tip is extremely tacky. I may have been persuaded to leave a greater amount of gratuity had I not been treated with such disrespect as I was leaving. I have been to many of the best spas in the city (which I would not count yours among) and I have never been treated like this.

"As such, the 10% gratuity that you left, while greatly appreciated, fell below the industry standard of 15-20% and could be construed as an indication you weren?t satisfied with your experience. If that were the case, we?d be very interested in receiving feedback on how it could have been better. Occasionally, first-timers will go to a spa without knowing customary practices and we are always happy to guide them."

5 Stars: *Awesome!!* (by missy_e)

This spa is a true treasure!! While it was my first visit to Ohm, the owners and the staff treated my friend and I like we were VIP's. From my initial phone call with Kathy (who is a co-owner) to set up our personalized spa day to the mani/pedi "team" that was arranged for us to my fantastic masseuse Nickie G, our visit could not have been any better or any more special. The spa services themselves (facials, massage, nails, etc.) are first rate. The staff is professional & personal but does not pressure or hustle additional products or services; the environment is tasetful and low key ( you start to relax as you walk through the door). An amazing experience and value!!

4 Stars: Best spa by far..... (by cynabon)

I have been to Ohm spa twice and I have to say I am impressed. I never knew that such a nice hamlet of a spa has been up the block from my job all this time. Granted it's in a small building but once you walk out the elevator doors, it's almost like you enter this serene and almost calming atmosphere. The head receptionist is so welcoming and friendly. The whole staff in fact is so nice and not snooty whatsoever (unlike many other spas in ny with pretentious employees) which is such a breath of fresh air. I have only been there to have eyebrow waxing and a manicure but they have been wonderful. It's amazing how something as simple as a waxing is made to feel like a true spa experience. And the waiting room is filled with all beverages from fruit infused water to lemonade, and fruit and snacks to enjoy while anticipating your spa service. This place is truly amazing and I cannot wait to go back to try the facials and massages. I think i finally found my escape from my everyday stress!! Great work OHM spa!!!!

Also, I had the most awesome, Ultimate Healing pedicure with Adda and my feet are still tingling from the mask.
5 Stars: Best Facial and 60-Min Massage (by runner3)

I have gotten only 3 other facials prior to my facial at Ohm (1 at Bliss Soho, which was the worst, and 2 at Glow, which were great), but the Ohm one was by FAR the best. My facialist was the sweetest person ever and really took time to explain my skin to me. I wasn't sure which facial to get, so I asked her opinion, and she was very careful to recommend some facials and also let me know about prices. I loved how she didn't push products on me but still answered all my products-related questions. The best part of the facial was the result--I had glowing skin and no horrible red marks. I also have gotten a deep tissue massage at Ohm and it was AMAZING. I always need really strong (almost painful) pressure, but the 60-min deep-tissue massage surpassed all of my previous massages. The only disappointment I had was the 30-min targeted massage, which was so light that I barely felt anything at all, even though I had mentioned to her I like really hard massages. I seriously kept thinking that the massage couldn't have possibly started b/c it felt like the masseuse was simply figuring out my alignment or something, but then 30 min later I realized that the massage was over. At least the masseuse was so friendly and nice! Everything else at the spa is so great though that I think I will keep going back and just not opt for the targeted massages.

They take you into the lounge that has beautiful, plush seats that when you sit down you instinctly curl your legs up under you as if you are home on your own couch. Next, you fill out a questionnaire that allows you to mark the locations of your aches and pains so the therapist will know all of you "sore spots." The massage itself was heaven and I have had tons of massages. The therapist was amazing, managing to release knots in my neck and back. She constantly made sure that I was comfortable and that her pressure was just right for my body. I almost fell asleep during the massage! I highly, highly, highly, recommend this spa when you are looking for rest, relaxation and the best massage you will ever experience!

4 Stars: Great Massage, got the kinks out (by happiness1234)

Had a couples massage here a few months ago with my boyfriend. Really friendly staff and great massage. My back is always killing me, and my masseuse (I think her name was Tiffany) got all the kinks out and I felt 1000 times better than when I had walked in. Complimentary cookies and juices were very nice, and overall a nice relaxing atmosphere. Very small locker room and didnt have the amenities that a lot of other spas (that charge similar prices) have, such as sauna, whirlpool, or even shower. But regardless, if you're not looking for frills, but a good massage, this was very very nice.

5 Stars: Heavenly... (by tmustac)

It is amazing that such a tranquil place could exist in such a loud and busy part of the city. I can't wait to go again. We have an incredible time. The only thing I would change is to forego the mani/pedi and get an extra 30 minutes of massage instead.

5 Stars: Warm, inviting and serene environment; SUPER FRIENDLY owners and staff; very clean too (by bellster11375)

Jonathan and Kathy are the owners, but you'd never know it! They volunteer that info and they don't just act like part of the bureaucracy... they just seem like happy employees - in fact, EVERYONE was quite friendly and inviting. My husband and I had (belated) Valentine's dual hot stone massages. Incredible!! The waiting area is tastefully decorated and has an array of snack, beverages and magazines. Once your eyes got adjusted (it's a little dimmed down - perfect!), you are able to sit on those bomfy chairs and sip tea (or lemonade or citrus-infused water) and nosh on crackers (or fruit or chocoate cookies!). You can easily fall asleep, it's that quiet. Although you usually aren't alone (it seats 5 or 6), even the other guests/clients are polite and good-natured. I chatted with a man who had received a facial (his wife's gift to him), and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Massages are not cheap, but they aren't half your salary either. I think we paid $120 per person for the hot stone massage (early March 2007), which was $5-10 less than most spas. I see that OHM now has wine Wednesdays (Jonathan mentioned that was something coming), and I will definitely return soon!! Cheers!

5 Stars: The Spa That You Travel From Boston to NY For (by tiffanylynette)

Well I am a personal assistant and to be honest sometimes you want to go where you send your boss. So I searched the world wide web and came across OHM SPA. My poor feet really needed some love and boy did they get them on Sunday March 25, 2007. I was actually running late as I was traveling from Boston to NY. I called and informed Ms. Ashley, the young lady at the front desk. She was so sweet she just said take your time and get here when you can. My appointment was at 5:30 and that's the exact time that I got there. Upon arrival Kathy greeted me, took my coat and my shoes and made me feel so welcomed. They then put a movie on "The Holiday" which was great. Ms. Ashley asked me if I wanted tea, water or lemonade. The lemonade was delicious. They took time and let me choose the color I wanted for my toes and Ada took my tired and aching my feet to Pedicure Heaven. She really did. She was sweet, sensitive to my desires and made sure all of my needs were met. OHM Spa has a number of services I would like to try and in due time I will. Jonathan and Kathy have created what New York has so desperately needed. OHM Spa is truly a peace of heaven on earth.

5 Stars: Fantastic service (by capackersfan)

I heard about this spa through this site and it was as good if not better than what people had written. The spa is immaculate, quiet and peaceful. The staff were warm and very personable. There was no sales pressure, and I didn't feel like they were rushing me out of there as some spas do to get to the next client. I would highly recommend Ohm Spa to anyone who wants to de-stress! I plan on going back to try a massage in the near future!

5 Stars: Words can't express (by whte)

This past weekend we had a bachlorette party for our 'bride to be' at Ohm spa. It was wonderful! the massages, pedicure, and manicure where AMAZING! All of the massages were different, geared towards each of our specific problem areas and needs. The therapist was great, very skilled, polite, & helpful.

The spa setting was perfect for our party, and the service is unmatchable! The prices are resonable & they don't hound you to purchase there products like I've experienced at some spas. Kathy (the co-owner) took care of us...schedulued our services perfectly so that we had time for girl talk, and made sure that we were taking care of. It was perfect and the bride to be...can't stop bragging about how great her bachlorette party way! It was a wonderful time and I plan on returning to Ohm

5 Stars: Best facial on the planet (by tracieacnp)

I had my first facial at Ohm Spa a couple of weeks ago. I had read many reviews about Nadia being the best so I made an appt with her. Unfortunately, she no longer works there, so I agreed to see Paula for my facial. All I can say is wow. I walked in and the receptionist was sincerely nice and hospitable. It wasn't one of those fake sales kind of nice. She struck up a conversation and we chatted while she showed me to the locker room, where I donned a very comfortable wrap and robe and slippers. She then took me to the waiting area that was gorgeous. The room was dimly lit with soothing music to set the mood and to allow my mind to forget the bitter cold outside. Different waters and lemonade were on a gorgeous display as well as snacks. The Japanese fighting fish were also very beautiful and calming. I didnt have to wait more than 5 minutes until Paula took me into the treatment room. We started our session with deep breathing and then she began my wonderful treatment. I chose the manuka honey facial, which was amazing. She thoroughly cleansed my face, massaged my arms, back, shoulders, face, and got me completely relaxed. I was completely limp with relaxation after the session. The extractions were not painful and she did not push any product on me at all. She was gracious and said that she could recommend a product if I would like to hear about it, which I did. She gave me a written skin cleansing schedule, which I now use. My skin was glowing and felt amazing. I cannot say enough great things about Paula! I love her.

I ended my day with a manicure. I had read a few complaints but I have to tell you that my manicurist was amazing as well. She was very attentive and I had a wonderful hand rub and manicure. The whole experience was amazing. Although some have said that its a bit pricey, I truly feel that it was worth every dime. I intend to go for bimonthly Take care of me facials. I recommend you go as well.

5 Stars: Best Treatment! (by yuree)

I went to OHM SPA over the weekend and the service was terrific!
The selective music, neat fish bowls, candles, and the scent made the atmosphere so peaceful.
As soon as I walked in, I felt very relaxed. I went to the wating room and the room was so nicely decorated, I did not want to leave the room. I waited for 5 minutes and was taken to the treaetment room with two big flat screen TVs.
I got a pedicure and a manicure and it was worth every single dollar that I have paid, maybe more than that. The nail technician was concerend about my skin type (I am very dry skin) and instead of using scrubs during the service, she used oil on my skin. I felt very special and could tell that they were extra caring. After the treatment, my nails looked very pretty and neat, AND my skin was also shiny and soft!
So, if you want to have a beautiful and healthy looking hands and feet, you should definitely go to OHM SPA, a place where they care about you! Oh! and their pedicure chair was amazing! The chair gave me a massage while I was getting my pedicure, and it almost put me into sleep! Everybody should definitley check this place out!

5 Stars: Massaged to perfection (by onetallblonde)

I finally got to use a gift card I received for Christmas and I am sooo glad I did. I had a 60-min deep tissue massage and then a manicure and pedicure and I feel like a whole new woman! The massage was extremely thorough, not like that fluffy stuff you get from the cheap places. This woman (I think her name was Nikki or Nicole) worked me firmly, but not to the point where I was in pain. Just before I was about to tell her to ease the pressure a little, she did so as if she read my mind. Next came the manicure/pedicure and I was extremely impressed. I had only ever gone to my local nail place, but the service at Ohm is definitely worth the trip. The lady was very sweet and unlike the quickie nail places, she was completely focused on me the whole time. Their pedicure chairs are amazing! Now that I know how nice it can be, I don't think I can go back to my local place. Overall, a wonderful experience. I would definitely go back.

5 Stars: Nadie gives the best facial! (by abblyn26)

I've had many facials in my life and am very particular about who I let do them. After moving to the city, it was time to find a facialist here. After a lot of research, the only thing that stuck in my mind were the rave reviews about Nadia. So I made my appointment at Ohm. This was hands down the best faciai I've ever had. Nadia knew all about my skin just by looking at it. She didn't push any of the expensive products on me. She told me (in her very calming voice) that she believes all products works as long as you use them correctly. The extractions didn't hurt at all and I didn't leave red. I got so many compliments that night and the next day that my skin was glowing! I highly highly recommend Nadia!!

5 Stars: SPA virgin NO MORE!!! (by moratche)

I've never been to a spa before thus finding the "perfect" place in a city flooded by great recommendations was one tough decision to make. I came across "OHM SPA" doing my research in CitySearch. Out of thousands and thousands of Spas cited, OHM SPA had the most positive feedbacks, comments I've read. Therefore, it wasn't long and I was booking an appointment for a dual massage with my BFF.
My experience at OHM started over the phone when I called to make the appointment: the treatment over the phone was excellent; the staff is very friendly and welcoming. These factors are very important when attempting to lure new clients. Once at OHM, Kathy, the manager was extremely welcoming and she made us feel right at home. The place has a very Zen vibe to it; it's well lit and very clean.
My masseuse was Dara and she was great! She was very attentive when I explained the troubled areas; thus, she applied the right pressure where needed.
To end my review, I'd say that although their prices might be a bit steep in the pocket, it was worth every dollar spent on it. I'll most definitely come back!!!
Keep up the great job!

Thank you!

3 Stars: Great Massage with Adam, Miss with Facial with Paula (by gangel)

Love spas! Recently had a gift certificate and finally got to use to it. Loved my massage with Adam. I was a bit nervous to have a massage by a guy as it was my first time, but it will definitely not be my last. Wish I can afford the prices to go on a regular visit but will have to do this on a more bi monthly as i love my shoes!! :) Adam listened to my needs and mixed up the massage and really put his energy into it! Thank you Adam...u r an angel! Also had a facial with Paula, and I guess its a make or miss with her. Unfortunatley mine was a miss as my skin was very red and I did break out after the facial. :( I agree the staff is very sweet & I love the decor and the fish!

5 Stars: Best Mani Pedis!!!! (by mademoiselle07)

Ohm spa not only has the sweetest staff, but their manicures and pedicures are amazing. As a person who regularly gets her nails done, I have never had a better experience. Other places always leave me unhappy with sloppy paint jobs. At ohm, I had meticulous filing and shaping of my nails and precision painting. Ada is amazing and knows exactly how I want my nails done. Also, if you mess your nails up or something chips, you can go back within 3 days and get it fixed. What great service! Please go try this spa.......I give it a 10!

5 Stars: Best Facials! (by rd519)

I have been going to Ohm spa to get facials with Paula for about 6 months. The spa is clean and all of the staff are really accommodating and friendly. Paula is especially great and makes you feel so comfortable. She is so gentle and thorough and pays close attention to detail. I have been to other places where they yell at you for not taking care of your skin and they are really rough. Paula gives advice about what to do for home care and it really works! My face glows for weeks after I have a treatment. I have been recommending Paula to everyone I know.

4 Stars: still recommended, but disappointed at recent changes (by unsoho)

Last weekend, I took my sister in to Ohm Spa after having a wonderful experience there with a girl friend of mine a few months ago. The service staff are delightful, friendly and the owner and his wife are very hands-on. The first time I was there, the owner's wife even plopped herself on the floor to repaint my pedicure that she found sub-par.

Since my last visit, the prices are about 20% higher than they were. I started coming here from another spa in the area whose prices were comparable. Ohm wins by a landslide for ambience and a general atmosphere of relaxation-- not to mention lovely decor-- but the manicure/pedicure services continue to disappoint me. Last time and this time, my manicurist/pedicurist did such a terrible job-- left a large border of unpainted nail and parts of the paint bubbled up as it was drying!-- that it isn't a wonder the owner redid them the first time I went in. At $50 a pedicure, it's definitely not worth having nail services done here.

My facial and massage were good and relaxing, but not stellar, particularly considering the prices. There are other spas in the area, like Finesse Day Spa, that may not be as well decorated, but have better service for a more reasonable price.

I'm sad that Ohm Spa had to raise their prices. I'd recommend it if money is no object, just for the lovely staff, but there are more reasonable spas in the area with much better service.

3 Stars: Very Unhappy Experience with Paula (by nyfingal)

I really feel bad that I have to write this review as my previous facial with Nadia was a wonderful experience. Nadia was attentive, professional, extremely knowledgeable and truly made me feel as though I was her only client. The advice and skincare products suggested were perfect for my skin. I felt like I was taken away from the stress of my day at the bank. I have had treatment at very high end Spas since my teen years and truly feel this was one of the best experiences I've had.
I recently dropped into Ohm again after work and unfortunately Nadia was not available so they recommended I see Paula. This was not an experience I care to remember. From the beginning I noticed that the area seemed cluttered, as though someone had just left and she didn't have time to clean or prepare for the next person. Paula also wouldn't stop talking and trying to sell products...very pushy. I mean I'm not trying to be mean but I felt more stressed when I left then when I arrived. During the facial I also had to recommend certain steps to her that Nadia did with me and had a wonderful effect on my skin. Paula seemed like she just wanted me out of the room and was willing to skip steps to make that happen. When it was FINALLY over I looked in the mirror and noticed my skin was extremely blotchy and was sore from the rough treatment. I was so so upset. My skin was a mess for a few days after the treatment.
Ohm spa is a beautiful place and I will continue to recommend it to friends...JUST MAKE SURE YOU GET NADIA...she's like taking a wonderful vacation...Paula, on the other hand, was like a trip to the dentist.

5 Stars: Exceptional Service/Great Bachelorette Party (by elaengwong)

We held my BFF's bachelorette party here and we all had a fantastic time. I was able to book everything about a month in advance. I didn't realize the person who I had been working with was the co-owner of the spa until towards the end of our party. She was very helpful and considerate of our needs. Everyone who we came in contact with at the spa was very nice. It's definitely not one of those spas that make you feel uncomfortable or the employees there are snooty. It was very relaxing and we all had a good time. They even set up a table for us so that we could all sit around afterwards and have a snack together and they didn't rush us out. I'm six and a half months pregnant and everyone was helpful and made sure that I was comforable. I think the prices of all their treatments are very good and am definitely looking forward to going back after I have my baby! Thanks, Kathy!

5 Stars: Incredible aesthetics, warm, friendly service, amazing services. (by casperone)

It's only been recently that I have started to frequent spas in NYC (I am a male). Having been to a few, Ohm Spa is definitely the best that I have been to by far. The space is not cramped, but rather warm, and serene. It is obvious that the owners put a great deal of thought into the environment. Of course, that's not the only reason one goes to a spa. I received a 90 minute signature massage which pretty much melted my muscles and left me wanting for more. That was followed up by a paraffin hand and foot treatment (which they use premade hand and foot bags for, which means the temperature is just right) and a waxing. It was my first trip to Ohm spa, but that very same day, I booked my next session, as I was not able to experience a facial. Definitely recommended. Everyone on the staff, from the owners to the technicians were incredibly friendly and warm. Combine all this and I can't see a reason I wouldn't go back, or recommend it to someone else. Definitely a must-try.

5 Stars: Nadia amazing skill- best facial (by sedarous)

I live in NY and have been to OHM spa twice so far. The first time I had the Manuka honey facial done by Nadia. My skin was in really bad shape at the time as I was going through some serious stress. Nadia was just amazing. Not only did she do a great job with the treatment itself, but she also took the time to go over some do's and dont's which were quite valuable. My skin has since been in great shape- stress or not, I just know how to take better care of it. Of course I went back for more and was just as equally impressed. Thanks Nadia, and see you again soon.

5 Stars: Well Spent Vacation Day (by jkmb)

I went to NY for a business trip and took a Friday off as I waited for my husband to fly into the city for a fun weekend. I indulged in a 4 hour "head to toe" package. The price was reasonable, the atmosphere low key and relaxing. The staff was friendly without being pushy. Nadia gave me the best facial I have ever had. To use a cliche, my face glowed afterwards (the honey treatment was heavenly). The massage was peaceful and they placed a small strip of fabric with an aromatherapy scent under my nose which helped me from getting congested.

5 Stars: Great Spa, Friendly Stuff (by unizou)

My boyfriend gave me the gift certificate as Christmas present so I went to OHM for my first time spa experience. It was very relaxing and nice atomosphere. I got 60 minutes facial treatment from Nadia and she was great. She is very friendly and explained what I need, what she will do, and what I have to do after the treatment. My skin was so dry from vacation but after that, it got much better and now it went back to normal skin. She recommended products for my skin but they didn't really push to buy anything. I got really relaxing time in OHM spa and Nadia's energy healed me a lot! Great place. The only bad thing was I had to wait a while.

I fully recommend getting a facial at Ohm. Everyone was so nice there, and my facialist Nadia was amazing. I left there glowing and not red at all, even though my skin is usually pretty sensitive. I will definitely be going back.

5 Stars: Paula is the Very Best for Facials (by jaims787)

I have been going to Ohm Spa for about a year, having the Manuka Honey Facial monthly with Paula. I consider myself somewhat of a "spa expert" being that I own a beauty public relations firm. I have been to the top spas and top aestheticians and I truly find Paula at OHM to be the BEST. She is very gentle, yet thorough and though I need some deep pore cleansing, I never wince a bit. I have tried everything from prescription creams to lasers to eliminate blackheads and breakouts, and Paula's facials seem to be the only remedy. I walk out with glowing skin and my make-up glides on so nicely. The atmosphere is soothing and serene and of course spotless. Everyone at Ohm is extremely helpful and kind and they DO NOT push products like most spas. They just make suggestions, and I have to say that every product I did buy, I LOVED. I have recommended Paula to many friends and they have all been thrilled with the results.

5 Stars: Spectacular birthday! (by letmetellu)

I took a friend for massages based on the recommendation of my daughter and it was a beyond compare. They really showed an attention to detail and professionalism that is so rare to find these days. I've received massages regularly for over 20 years and I would say that Ohm Spa ranks among the best I've had. I agree with others that the changing area is small, but the quality of their massages, the attentiveness of the staff and the beauty/cleanliness of the spa more than make up for it.

5 Stars: Wonderfully Relaxing Ambiance, Great Service (by iheartsephora)

Update: I was recently informed by one of the owners that Nadia no longer works there...she will be missed!!! I'd love to know if she has moved to another spa...

As a newly minted spa-addict, I must say that my experiences at Ohm exemplify the term "service with a smile". The staff and the owner go out of their way to be extremely sweet and accommodating, and they seem to take customer service seriously, unlike some other spas. There's no haughty attitude here. The spa itself is very well decorated, with soft music adding to the relaxing atmosphere. The waiting room is cozy and dimly lit, with comfy chairs, magazines, a wide assortment of crackers and cookies to munch on while you wait for your service, and jars of fruit-infused water. I had a 60 minute custom facial with Nadia that was extremely thorough and efficient. She explained every step of the facial and discussed my skincare routine. She cleansed, steamed, and scrubbed to perfection, adding a few masks in the process. I was surprised that after all the extractions there was no redness to speak of right after the facial or on the next day. You might get a tinted moisturizer applied after the facial is done, which might explain the "makeup on forehead" comment on one of the earlier reviews here. The mani/pedi space is awesome, but I found their selection of polish colors lacking. The changing room is extremely small, there is no proper "locker room" with showers, etc., and they offer no body treatments besides massage, which is a pity. Overall, I'm sure you?ll have a relaxing experience here and wonder why you ever put up with snotty attitudes at other Manhattan Spas. Ohm is definitely a keeper!!!

5 Stars: Best facial, very accomodating and truly personalized services (by ms994)

I have been to Ohm spa 3 times and my experience gets better and better. First off, I have been to every spa you can think of and I havent met a better person to do my facials than Nadia. She is so knowledgeable and really takes a personal interest in the appearance of your skin. The first time I had a facial with Nadia, I had a bad case of acne and she recommended a skin care regimen for me. I followed her advice and saw serious improvements in my skin. When I saw her again (it's impossible to get appts with her so book fast)-- it was 3 months later. She remembered me perfectly and was so happy that my skin had progressed!! I love it there and I love her. Ohm spa truly cares and I HIGHLY recommend this place. They know what they are doing and trust me believe the reviews you read for this place.

5 Stars: Best facial ever! (by mkayal22)

I have had a hard time finding a spa in the city, that is fairly priced, and a great experience...until I went to Ohm Spa. I loved hanging out in the wating room, eating cookies, drinking flavored water, and hearing the soft relaxing music. I had an appointment with Nadia. She was the most wonderful person. She was annentive to my skin, exfoliated, moisturized, buffed, scraped, picked, I mean the whole nine. I came out so refreshed, relaxed, and my skin looked great! I highly recommend Ohm Spa. It was awesome!

5 Stars: Fabulous Facial (by libra1500)

As a birthday present, my boyfriend got me the "Ultimate" package at Ohm Spa including a manuka honey facial, deep tissue massage, and mani/pedi. The facial with Nadia was absolutely top notch! She was so in tune with my skin and my concerns...she could even tell from my skin that I had had a drink the night before! Unlike many aestheticians that make you feel badly about how poorly you treat your skin, she was extremely positive and focused on all the things that I could do to make it better. It was relaxing and effective all at once. She steamed, cleansed, massaged, extracted, masked, moisturized, etc. Then I had a few minutes until my massage so I hung out in the lounge in my bath robe, reading magazines and driniking fruit infused water. Had some salty and sweet snacks, including fruit, crackers, and cookies. My deep tissue massage was also a success. She really focused on the spots that I pointed out. Mani and pedi were also a treat. i had paraffin on my hands and some tingly moisturizing potion on my legs. Pedicure was very thorough. My only complaint is that the manicure was a bit sloppy and polish did not last very long. Oh well, a small price to pay for a day of luxury! Overall, I say RUN there for facials and a massage--manicures not so much.

5 Stars: Rockin Spa! (by marybeth06)

The other reviews don't lie, this spa is a standout gem! My massage, facial and mani/pedi were glimpses of perfection and erased about 12 months of stress in one relaxing day. Seriously, my back pain from the over-stuffed bag is gone and the gunk in my over-stuffed pores is also but a bad memory now! All the treatments were relaxing, refreshing and performed with the utmost professionalism. My only regret is that I ate too many yummy oreos in the lounge...but I can't blame Ohm for that!

5 Stars: Twice in one week! (by siseneg)

My girlfriends and I just got back from a weeklong trip to NY. We are still raving about our trip as a whole but especially about our TWO trips to Ohm spa. Our first day in the Big City we pampered ourselves with spa mani/pedis. We immediately felt welcomed and our treatment specialists were really great! The spa itself is immaculately clean and very relaxing. The receptionist (which I believe is also the owner) went out of her way to recommend a few of her favorite places we could have lunch. We loved our entire experience so much we decided to book one more time before we left for home. (After walking around Manhatten for a week a massage was definitely needed!) Once again, at the time we placed the call and when we arrived, we were warmly greeted and made to feel like "regulars". You can tell that the staff really enjoys their job and likes working there. My girlfriend said her massage was the best she'd ever had! All four of us highly recommend Ohm Spa to anyone in need of a little pampering. We will certainly return when we visit NY again!

5 Stars: Fabulous Massage. Great Spa! (by laura_m21)

I have to say that I've been to many spas around the world (I travel a lot for work and always slip in a spa visit) but the massage that I had at Ohm was one of the best I can remember. Most massages are good, but the experience I had there (I think her name was Tiffany) was really exceptional. During the massage, we really formed a connection and it was as if she was "speaking" to my body with her hands. I've had a lot of massages where they just use a generic routine, but she really addressed my pain and I felt tremendous relief afterwards. The spa is beautiful too. Would definitely recommend to others. Thank you!

5 Stars: I'd go everyday if I could (by broadwaybound)

This place has been one of my favorite indulgences ever since I got to NY. The atmosphere is perfect for relaxation and everyone I've met on staff is sweet and kind. Being a dancer, I've always received massages to keep my body going, but the experience at Ohm goes beyond that. I always seem to walk out of there more mentally and emotionally recharged as well. No sales pressure, no attitude - just a comfortable place to unwind and be treated. Its a very nurturing environment. I just wish I had the budget to go there more often!

The people here were very friendly, but my facial started 45 minutes late and there was barely an apology. But I've been going to Ohm Spa for about a year and I just wanted to do this as a thank you for the wonderful care they've always given me. I started going when I first moved to NYC and they were a haven for me whenever I was feeling overwhelmed. Now I just go because its fun and I'm addicted to massages and their pedicures.
5 Stars: Great service, awesome facial experience (by asiltoe)

This was my first time at Ohm Spa, having been given a gift certificate there by my friends. I have to say that this was the best facial I have ever received. My facialist was Nadia, who even gave me an extra 45 minutes for free! After the facial, she even gave me samples of products that she recommended for me, and talked to me about how to take care of my skin. I had a lot of breakouts when I went, and now I can definitely see a difference. I also have to say that not only was the service by Nadia great, but service from everyone I interacted with were great as well. It was definitely a great experience from beginning to end. Their prices are also very reasonable, and definitely worth it!

5 Stars: Great decor, professional facials, super-friendly staff (by smithz)

It was my first time at Ohm Spa, and I was very pleased with everything. My Facial was wonderful. I was not kept waiting at all. My esthetician (Nadia) was so professional and polite. She recommended some products for me for home use. They have a very nice facility and their prices seem competitive. Congratulations for a such great job! See you on my next appointment!

5 Stars: Best massage, great atmosphere (by marsus)

I go regularly to Ohm Spa for a variety of services. After years of searching for a massage therapist that was skilled, had a good personality and was someone that I felt comfortable with. I found someone at Ohm Spa who is exceptional; his name is Adam. Adam has many qualities that make him outstanding, not the least of which is his skill as a massage therapist and his dedication to his work. I have serious problems with my back and right hip. After a deep tissue massage with Adam, I am not only relaxed, but I also enjoy long periods of being pain free. In addition, his sensitivity to his clients' needs and his respectfulness are qualities that I value. Having a massage with Adam is the best investment of time and money that I can imagine. I give both Adam and Ohm Spa the highest recommendation.

5 Stars: I haven't even been and the service is already outstanding! (by txsquirrel)

My husband and I are headed to New York and then Bermuda for our 10th wedding anniv. I decided to do a spa day in NY while we're there. After lots of "Citysearch research" I decided on a package deal at Ohm. I called to set up the appointment, but the day I needed wasn't going to work because of when employees came into/left work. Cathy asked for my number and said she'd see what she could work out. A few hours later, I got a call saying they had worked it out and I was all set. I couldn't believe it! What service! You just don't see it anymore! Cathy even gave me a recommendation on a dumpling place to take my husband. I've got about a month before we leave and I am so excited to meet Cathy and enjoy the Ohm experience I have heard so much about! Thanks Cathy!

5 Stars: BEST facial! (by defyinggravity05)

Let me preface by saying that I am a HUGE spa junkie. I normally spend a couple hours in a spa once or twice a month getting facials and massages (and occasionally my nails).

I spent the entire day at Ohm a couple weeks ago, and I literally was in a state of bliss for HOURS after I left! Nadia does the most wonderful facials (the Manuka Honey Plantogen facial is great)... I just had a second facial with her and have appointments for more! I have always had very sensitive skin and she knew exactly what was best for it! She was extremely sweet and carefully explained what the best solutions for my skin were. My skin has NEVER looked better! Like most facials, there was a little bit of dryness and breakouts in the couple of days immediately after, but within 5 days, my skin looked just flawless and glowing. She is truly phenomenal!

I also got the Healing Pedicure and Manicure, and though my Pedicure was perfect and STILL was perfect 2 weeks later, my manicure chipped after 2 or 3 days, which was a little disappointing... but nonetheless, awesome massages during the two and my hands and feet felt fantastic, so I can't complain.

Dara is pretty good for massages, although not the best I've ever had (but granted, I have had A LOT). Still, very relaxing experience and the hot stone massage in particular is quite nice (again, not the best, but good).

Overall, it's a reeeeeally great place to go if you're looking to get multiple treatments done, as they do a great job at almost everything (Nadia for facials!!!) and they treat you like a goddess (or god). The staff is incredibly friendly and gives amazing recommendations... GREAT spa!

5 Stars: Rave review (by brie726)

Had my first facial ever at age 50+ . I had been reluctant because of a history of allergies and reactive skin. It was glorious! It feels and looks clean, healthy and soft. Nadia, the facialist is a doll!!! Sweet, helpful, and professional. She was both gentle and firm in her approach. I learned about my skin type and did not receive a heavy handed sales pitch about their product line. She provided a few samples and encouraged me to return. But I needed no encouragement. The combo mani-pedi was lovely too. The manicurist was gentle with my cuticles, which have been so roughly treated in the past and the massage chairs were an added plus. Ohm was quiet, relaxing and respectful of the need for a peaceful place to destress. My daughter, the original recipient of this spa time, after finishing med school exams, was equally pleased with her targeted massage and mani-pedi. For us, Ohm lived up to it's prior rave reviews.

5 Stars: Best. Massage. Evah. Ooohhmm. (by shoe_freak)

I was hooked the moment I walked in. I thought I had been getting good massages before going to Ohm, but they showed me what I had been missing all these years. My therapist didn't just have a set routine that she performed for 60-minutes. She addressed my shoulder issue and I felt real improvement after the first session. On top of that, the place is gorgeous, they stay open late and best of all, all cell phones are turned off. Will definitely return.

5 Stars: The Best Massage I've Ever Had (by jlk981)

It doesn't get any better than the experience I had at Ohm Spa. The owners were lovely and welcoming, they remembered little details I had mentioned when I booked my massage. The best service I've had in New York, hands down. The environment is perfect, soothing and calm, very relaxing. The massage was perfect, just the right amount of pressure - a week later and I still feel relaxed! I will definitely return soon!

5 Stars: Perfect Romantic Birthday (by broadway_star42)

For my birthday, my boyfriend took me to Ohm without me knowing he had set up an appointment. What followed was pure heaven for 4-hours! They really know how to take care of you. The people were extremely courteous. For each service, they always asked for feedback to make sure I was comfortable, but without being intrusive. The entire time, I felt like they treated me as though I was a house guest instead of a customer. The interior is modern, very zen and very quiet - exactly what I needed. I could have stayed the entire day. Oh well, there's always our anniversary!

5 Stars: Best Facial Ever (by jyoti_taparia)

I have been getting facials at ohm spa for a year and Nadia is the absolute best. She is sweet and makes you feel gorgeous during, before and after the facial. She even goes beyond the time of the facial to make the experience truly special. Get the Manuga Honey Facial with Nadia- it is to die for. She includes a massage and several relaxation techniques which even other therapists at Ohm (yes I've tried them all) don't use. The owners John and Kathy are also so sweet and accomodating. They will squeeze their clients in. Overall, a true gem in New York City. My only gripe is that I'm moving to San Francisco in a week and there's no Ohm there. My skin has never felt better even though I'm barely getting any sleep or exercise courtesy of being in grad school!!!

The owners were sure everything was set up perfectly and were there the day I proposed. It was just perfect.

I have gone to a few places that I saw recommended online, and some were ok, and didn't have results, some hurt, but helped - Paula at Ohm was the most pleasant, GENTLE, thorough and EFFECTIVE facialist I've ever been to. But the proof is in the fact that my skin looks better than it's looked since I was 11!

My wife and I went to Ohm Spa for her birthday and we were extremely impressed with the care we received. My massage therapist was very knowledgeable and had excellent technique. My wife commented that it was the best massage she's ever had - and she's had many.
5 Stars: More than just a spa (by annag0723)

I finally used a gift card I had received around Christmas. If I had known it was so nice, I would have gone much sooner. Ohm is no ordinary spa. I really got the feeling that the services they perform are much more in-depth than what Ive found at other spas in NY. The thing I liked most was their emphasis on healing. Apparently it is owned by a physical therapist, so everything has a health-aspect to it, not just pampering. At the end, I felt better than I had in months. I was so impressed with Ohm that when I finished, I even decided to buy a gift card for someone else.

5 Stars: Definitely Going Back! (by lauriari)

I first went to Ohm Spa late last year and had an unbelievable massage and mani/pedi. Since then, I've visited other spas but nothing has really matched up to that experience. I tried calling Ohm again for a last minute appointment in January. Unfortunately, they were booked so I ended up going to another spa in the neighborhood and it was terrible (it would be rude to name names). I finally had the chance to go back to Ohm Spa recently and it was every bit as nice as I had remembered. I don't normally write reviews, but I just had to give credit where credit is due. I can't recommend them highly enough.

5 Stars: I found my new spa! (by jdla)

I recently booked a facial at Ohm spa with Nadia and the experience was something I had to write about. I have been to dozens of spas in New York & New Jersey and the results were always mediocre. My facial with Nadia was truly the best I have ever had. She is extremely knowledgeable, didn't push products on me at the end of my visit (samples!) and is extremely relaxing just to be around. From the moment I walked in the staff (Jonathan is the best!) couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating and it was exactly what I have been looking for. This place is truly the best in the city, take this advice from someone who has been everywhere. Can't wait for my next appointment!

Great Experience.
Ive been to a few spas in NY for facials and this was the best. Very accommodating.
Gave me a real massage during the facial. Did not push products. Staff was very friendly and made me feel at home. My skin looked amazing and the prices are totally reasonable. Pleasantly surprised. I am 100% going back.

5 Stars: Just like being on vacation (by poobah121)

I consider myself a massage connoiseur and after many, many disappointments in NYC, I've finally found my place after going to Ohm. What separates them from all the other spas is the whole experience from start to finish. There are so many little touches that add to the overall experience - the smell of the candles as soon as you walk in, the beautiful relaxation lounge, the hanging fish bowls on the walls, etc. My appointment was for a massage and a facial, but when I left, I felt like I had just finished a mini-vacation. I see myself spending a lot of time there!

5 Stars: Can't go wrong (by meloneee)

I've been to Ohm several times now and the service is consistently spectacular. There's a sense of calm and tranquility that permeates the space. As soon as I walk in, I can actually feel myself starting to relax. I've recommended them to several friends and they all came back with the same experience. I've been to other spas that seem more concerned with milking you for as much money as possible than providing the best service. At Ohm, I always feel as though they make the experience the top priority. Whatever they are doing, it really works.

5 Stars: A Wonderful Gem of a Spa! (by selizabethdavis)

I just relocated to NYC and I have been searching for a place to get my monthly manicures/pedicures done. Let me tell you, I have found it! The Ohm Spa is a peaceful, relaxing spot that caters to making your experience with them excellent. From the moment you walk in, it's amazingly quiet (for being on 5th Ave) and ALL cell phones are turned off (no need to worry about disruptive rings or other clients' annoying conversations). The manicurist was excellent...very professional and my nails looked fabulous! I can't wait to go back for my next appointment! Kudos to Jonathan and Kathy for opening such an outstanding spa.

5 Stars: Perfect escape (by trd1612)

My boyfriend surprised me with a massage and a facial and I was completely blown away! The people there were extremely courteous and down to earth. Other spas can be so snobby. Ohm spa is a little hidden - you have to go up to the 7th floor - but once you're inside, it doesn't even feel like you are in the city. The music, the candles, the lighting - this is one very cool place. Oh, by the way....the massage and facial were awesome too!

5 Stars: First rate spa (by doros478)

I went to Ohm because I received a gift card and I really needed some relaxation. I came out feeling completely rejuvenated and transformed! Even though I went on a busy day, everything still seemed so peaceful and calm. I had the 60 minute deep tissue massage and by the end I was a ball of dough. Sitting in their lounge I heard another woman raving about their facials so I'll definitely be back for that.

5 Stars: Best massage in the city (by mduchnowski)

The Ohm Spa has a soothing environment with an Asian flavor in the decor that immediately makes the customer relax. Little touches make a big difference in the overall experience...such as providing water or juice ... and looking down at a small goldfish during the massage. The best part is the massage itself. Both relaxing and effective to relieve muscle tension without being too aggressive. I cast a 9.8 rating.

Took advantage of a gift card I received for Christmas and went to Ohm for the day. It was absolutely amazing! Deep massage, honey facial and I even caught a movie while getting a manicure and pedicure in their awesome chairs. The staff was extremely gracious and unlike other spas I've been to, they really took their time instead of just rushing through the services. For a short while, I even stopped thinking about work!
5 Stars: A great birthday present (by lhegend)

I decided that my wife could use some relaxation, so I decided to get her a day of beauty for her birthday. She ran out of the spa and smothered me in kisses. She said that the service was phenomenal. I think I'll have to send her there once every other month. From the time we entered Kathy (front desk) was attentive. Be sure to book your appointment about two weeks in advance. They book quickly. And for a man whom has been named Mr. Clearance by my wife, I must say this was a great value.

5 Stars: I'm a believer! (by amyk734)

I was a loyal patron of Stone Spa for many years, but when they went out of business I began exploring other spas around the city. Some were better than others, but no spa has been quite as satisfying as Ohm. I went in for a full day package after the NY Marathon and by the end of the visit, I was so relaxed that I didn't even feel as though I ran it. Everything they did just worked together so well - the music, the decor, the service, and the price. They really took care of me. I highly recommend.

5 Stars: A great place... (by pearlypg)

I went to this place after reading reviews here, for the head to toe package which included facial, massage, and mani-pedi. Overall, this is a true gem of a place. I have been to many spas, and this is my second favorite, the first being Essential Therapy. The mani-pedi was awesome, and I will go here again for mani-pedi. The facial was very good, although I was not a big fan of the products that they use. The massage was not bad, and yet not perfect. The masseur just didn't get it, and was amateurish, although I have had worse. The staff was extraordinarily friendly, in a good way.

I first went to Ohm because of the great reviews and ratings on Citysearch, and I haven't been to another place since. The massages and pedi/mani's are some of the best I've ever had in this city, and Jon and Kathy are by FAR the nicest and warmest spa owners I've ever met. The place is gorgeous - very zen.. Prices and packages are a great deal. I've been here 3 out of the past 6 weekends!! ..and am going back again in a couple of days! (obsessed? maybe...)

Decided to go to Ohm based on their rating and I have to say that all the strong recommendations are true. The personal attention I received was superb. Their massage was the only one I've ever had where I still felt better long after leaving the spa. I fell alseep during my facial, but I remember the esthetician being very knowledgeable and having an excellent touch. The facility itself is very calming and comfortable.
1 Stars: Keep your money!!!! (by shengherman)

I read great reviews about Ohm Spa, so I went there for the spa mani/pedi/facial package I had never had a facial or mani-pedi before. What a complete waste of money!

My facial was calming, but after I got home and looked in the mirror, I still had makeup on my forehead. This is after a 60 minute facial! I don't think that's what a facial is supposed to do...isn't one of the first steps "Cleansing"? Not at this spa.

The french mani-pedi was terrible. No attention to details...highly uneven nails, even after I asked for it to be fixed a million times, uneven white strips, sloppy! The paint peeled off as soon as it dried...this is after sitting at the nail dryers for over an hour.

Not recommended for nails or facials at all!

I was so refreshed after my day at Ohm! The people who work there have got to be the nicest in NYC.
5 Stars: Attention to Detail (by adored1)

Ohm Spa has been meticulously designed. From the rich, velvet, noise-buffering drapes in the massage rooms to the closed captioned movies on plasma screens in the nail salon, Jon & Kathy have put some serious thought into creating an oasis in Manhattan. Although it may seem like an odd part of town for a spa, the lobby and entryway are well lit and clean, making your transition from street to hushed voices easier. Candles light your way in the changing room and bathroom. Fighting fish swirl in wall sconces in the most interesting places. No heavy aromas or odors permeate the facility, making allergy-prone and smell-sensitive noses grateful. The slippers are comfy, the robes plush and the green tea is ready. Go get some Ohm.

My husband surprised me with a full-day package at Ohm and it was amazing! It was the most relaxed I had been in a long time - just had a baby 3 months ago. Had their deep-tissue massage, honey facial and their ultimate mani/pedi. The atmosphere was inviting, the staff was genuinely friendly and the technicians were extremely skilled. I would definitely go back and recommend them to friends.

5 Stars: Amazing birthday present (by live4shoes)

My husband gave me a full day gift package for my birhtday and it was absolutely divine. I went after a particularly hard week and began to relax as soon as I stepped into their beautiful lounge. The staff was warm and accommodating, the decor was modern and sophisticated, and the service was outstanding. I cant wait to go back with friends.

5 Stars: Want to feel like a princess? (by stu10770)

This was my first spa experience so I had nothing to compare it to! My mom and I took a trip to New York and wanted to go to a spa while we were there! I chose Ohm Spa after reading some reviews and am so glad I did! The service was excellent, they really made us feel so special! This will be on my list of things to do every time I go into the city.

5 Stars: This is what a spa should be (by sweetjessy)

Believe me, I've been EVERYWHERE. There may be some spas that are bigger. There certainly are spas that are more expensive. But I have to say that I feel most comfortable at Ohm (I've been there twice already). Both times, the service has been impeccable. Everyone there really cares about your well-being. The massage therapist knew exactly where my body was tight. Their facials are to die for. And mani-pedi area is the coolest place in the city to have your nails done. Best of all, the entire staff was really sweet and went out of their way to help me relax. Ohm is the only spa I'll go to from now on.

5 Stars: Simply Lovely (by lisasicon)

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Ohm and recommend it without reservation. The atmosphere is serene; everyone on staff is warm and attentive and the services were first-rate. I received the hour long swedish massage with mani/pedicure package. Very reasonably priced at $145, and although it was billed as 2 1/2 hours worth of service I got way more attention than that. Love the flat screened TV, and the massage chairs! Amazing attention to detail! I've already booked my next appointment.

5 Stars: The BEST Manicure & Pedicure in New York (by vlc)

I have never had a better Manicure / Pedicure. I had the the Ultimate Mani/Pedi Combo at Ohm. At lesser day spas I always see something imperfectly done afterwards: cuticles not pushed back; a nail edge that is not perfectly smooth, etc. This is the first manicure I've ever had that I truly believe is PERFECT! And I was so busy watching an an amazing movie on their Flat Screen T.V.'s that I didn't even notice how truly perfect it was until I left. The staff was so nice, and the management so very concerned about the QUALITY of my experience - I will definitely be back to OHM SPA.

5 Stars: Truly wonderful experience (by jra128)

I am a massage therapist and needed a massage myself, so I read the other reviews and went to Ohm somewhat skeptical. The treatment was amazing, my therapist was well educated, and so talented. I was so busy enjoying myself that I forgot all the moves I wanted to steal and use on my own clientds!! I feel amazing!! The atmosphere was beautiful but not overwhelming. Staff was kind and welcoming. The pedicure chairs are just like the ones in sharper image that actually massage you, not just vibrate. I got a free manicure with my pedicure, even the flipflops they give you to wear are cute and comfortable. And the best part??? NO PINK ANYWHERE!!! Bring your boyfriends. I will be recommending this place to my friends as a wonderful getaway for city dwellers, that actually have massage therapists who want to go there. See you there!!!

5 Stars: FINALLY! A REAL MASSAGE IN NYC!!! (by citykittynyc)

WHEWW! After 5 years of searching NYC I have found a spa who offers a TRUE theraputic massage. There is no doubt that these therapists are well trained! I've had 2 custom therapy (90min) massages and both were amazing. The pain in my shoulders was addressed and relieved (without causing MORE pain!) and the entire time I felt truly pampered. Each time I've left feeling aligned, meditative and calm rather than drained. (Anglea IS an angel ~ and a true healer!) The atmosphere is modern meets earthy, welcoming and clean. The staff (from owner to assistants) are all truly sweet, kind, calm and accomodating. Haven't yet tried the gorgeous pedicure chairs but will soon. The prices are VERY competitive (I've paid much more for a lot less). This will no doubt be my weekly health ritual!

5 Stars: All I can say is WOW! (by samwlock614)

Had their total package massage, facial, mani/pedi and it was in my opinion the best in the city. They really make an effort to personalize each treatment to you. My massage was deep but not painful. Even though I have really sensitive skin, I was glowing after my facial. Dont even get me started on their pedicures those chairs are awesome! Best of all, the entire staff was beyond nice. Everything was simply perfect really didnt want to leave.

5 Stars: New meaning to therapeutic massage (by anner888)

Highly recommended for those of you who want more than just a fluff massage. Owned by a licensed physical therapist, their philosophy is truly one of healing and therapeutics. I never realized the difference between a regular massage and a deep tissue massge until OHM. My therapist was so intuned with my body that she found knots that I didn't know existed and she took her time releasing them leaving me feeling rejuvenated and on the road to healing. I will definitely be back to try a pedicure on the ijoy chairs while watching TV on a plasma screen!

5 Stars: Wonderful Experience! (by ptaml1o)

Highly recommended! My coworker suggested I go b/c of pain in my lower back and I don't know what they did but I felt like a new woman when I was done. Much nicer than going to see my doctor. The rooms are beautiful - I would live there if they let me. The staff was wonderful - really sweet w/o being too pushy. Best of all, their prices are very reasonable for their location and service. Next time, I'll go for their facial.

5 Stars: Would go back in a second! (by cscher212)

This place has the perfect combination of being upscale and luxurious, without the snobby "You should feel lucky to be here" attitude that so many NYC spas have. Had a deep tissue on 6/18 and this is now my new regular spa. Not only was the massage awesome, you could tell that they put so much thought into all the small details - you'll know waht I mean when you go. The pedicure chairs are out-of-this-world! I've been to tons of spas all over New York, but Ohm Spa has the best "feel". I already booked by next appointment!
