For those who were not happy with the service, not to worry. No longer in business.
Found a note on the door when I brought my dog in early October. Called the owner and left messages several times and still have not received a call back. Prepaid for 20 visits; used 10 so I'm out $210.

Thanks a lot Cassia......way to do business.
Good luck getting customers in your new future venture.

By the way, I have to agree with many of the previous comments. The record-keeping was a joke, there were far too many dogs handled by too small a staff, but the staff that was there was very friendly.

Pros: My dog LOVED going there and loved the staff

The owner of Dogz Downtown not only ignores the dogs that attend her facility, but also is under staffed and unsafe. I have shown up to see one person to forty dogs. I would never let my dog attend her day care under any circumstances!

Pros: Large Facility

Cons: Staff, Owner, Operation

I have given Dogz Downtown 4 seperate chances at overnight boarding. Everytime she spends an overnight she comes home with and ailment that needs a vet visit. Pink eye was the first... but didn't cause too much of an alarm... second... she came home with a broken toe nail... again, can happen to any dog... the 3rd time which she was the overnight for 5 nights she came home limping... come to find out she had open sores like blisters, but red and bleeding in between her toes on both front paws... this time, I got mad since someone should have noticed her limping. Finally... this past weekend, she came home, again favoring one side and after inspection, her front right paw, there was a layer of skin missing off her front pad as if a human would get a rug burn on there knee... She has been licking it and whimpering everytime I try to look at it...

That being said... I am very discouraged about the circumstances at dogz downtown, Everytime we go, there are new people working, no one ever mentions any unusual signs and everytime I have to pay a differnt price for the same service as before... whether its a few dollars here and there ... its always different.

I really wish I could leave her overnight and know that she is OK... well I feel now it may have to come to an end for dogz downtown for us. The extra VET costs everytime she goes is worth searching for another elsewhere.

Im not saying not to bring your pet... because others rave about the place... Im just sharing my experience.

Pros: convenience, location, hours of service

Cons: trust of staff attention, lack of communication to pet owners.

..I've been taking my two German shepards to Dogz Downtown for about a year and a half. I have NEVER had a problem with billing. Perhaps you folks just didn't keep an accurate record of your payments or perhaps you didn't pay at all??

Pros: VERY friendly and attentive staff. They love my babies as much as I do..

Cons: Not a one

.

I agree with the previous poster that the book keeping is atrocious- I've started to keep my receipts after I prepay b/c the staff has a tendency to say tthat they have no record of my payment. I have learn to deal with the weird service I recieve b/c my dog loves this place. The daycare staff is wonderful to my dog but the old lady (which I haven't seen in a while) was a bit of a nut. If you really care about your dog-you will like me, learn to deal b/c dogs really love this place!

Pros: Excellent Daycare Staff

Cons: Bad Book Keeping

The owner and her psychopath mother attempt (badly) to run this doggie daycare/boarding facility. However, their bookkeeping is atrocious and many customers are often overcharged when they prepay for daycare, boarding or obedience classes. I have also heard from other local businesses that they are very inconsistent about paying their bills. The worst thing though is how they treat pet owners. Very unfriendly and EXTREMELY rude (note that I have only had problems with the owner and her mother, and all of her minimally paid employees have always been lovely. What a shame.) The final straw was when I was verbally accosted when I questioned some inaccurate charges! After this happened, I immediately stopped bring my dog for fear of matters being even worse behind closed doors. I have spoken to several pet owners who have had difficulty with the same two women (Owner, Cassia and her angry mother, Linda) as well as being overcharged and many have also stopped bringing their pets. As someone who works locally in the legal profession, I am in complete shock that these women are even still in business!
