Our certified and knowledgeable staff works extra hard to make sure your visit is not just pleasant, but meaningful.
It?s a cute little spa but the Brazilian I got there recently was below average. The woman who did the Brazilian was very slow and pulled the strips too gently and slowly. It took her at least 30 min to do the job, and she still left strands of hair and even a couple small bruises. Also, it seemed that the wax wasn?t warm enough because it was too sticky and didn?t spread well; as a result the irritation was worse than usual. After the procedure, she put way too much oil and lotion on me; I also got an oily stain on my t-shirt and wax residue on my legs although she didn?t wax them. I know places where they do a much better and cleaner job in half the time and about the same price.
Pros: decor, polite staff
Cons: bad brazilian

I actually went w/ a friend back in 8/2008. I booked a mani & facial & my friend booked a pedi. All were great services. My friend was very happy w/ the pedi & I was very happy w/ the mani. The same woman did the mani/pedi. She was super friendly and I liked that she wasn't very chatty but knew when to make conversation. The facial was great - I had never had one before (or since so I can't accurately compare their services to say - another spa facial I've had) There are 2 cons about the facial. 1: The room is super tiny 2: The facial room is up front. Literally the wall in the waiting area is the bordering wall of the facial room. I could hear everything going on at the front desk, everything being said in the waiting area, and everytime the phone rang so it didn't make for the most relaxing experience. If you don't care about the relaxing part of the spa experience I would recommend this spa for a facial any day (but even if the relaxation thing is a deal breaker I would still recommend mani/pedi's bc those stations are at the back - so it's quiet and relaxing)
One other con: The woman doing my facial convinced me to do another facial more suited to my skin type. In fact she basically told me that she was going to do it and didn't ask permission. Surprise, surprise it equaled out to more money. Even though this didn't make me happy and I can't be sure the different facial wasn't a con to get more money, I DID notice a visible improvement in my skin for the next few weeks. Bottom line if I need something done I'd go back, but if I'm trying to make it a relaxing girl's day I think I'd look elsewhere. I gave Red&White 4 stars though because I did enjoy the quality of their work.
Hope this helps someone!
P.S. - The most recent review mentioned snacks/wine/tea. I never saw this and was never offered anything when I came in; but maybe they started offering it after I'd already gone since it was a few months ago.
Pros: Great quality mani, pedi, and facial, super friendly nail woman
Cons: Tiny, Noisy Facial Room, Possibly cons looking for more $

They run monthly specials. What is great! It is better, that special priced services don't have quality difference from the regular ones. I like the Deep pore facial. They do give absolutely proper extractions. Helen and Dominique are my favorite aestheticians. Thank you, guys.
Pros: snacks, tea and whine are provided

Of course, it is impossible to satisfy everyone. But I am going to tell you what: I've been Red & White Spa customer for almost 3 years. I visit them on the monthly base. I tried all massages, mostly all facials. I tried the services form almost everyone in the Red & White Spa. And I say that everyone is friendly, professional and gives just wonderful treatments. And of course I have my favorites. It's not like I never complain. We are all human beings, wright? Be ownest, I had couple situations in the past with Red & White , but the owner was always their to compromise and make sure I was leaving the spa happy. She is the sweetest thing. So professional, calm and self controlled.
And they always run monthly specials. So helpful wright now when economic situation wishes stay better.

This was the absolute worst experience. It is true what lucy writes in her review, the hot oil massage - sorry, I mean hot stone massage was a slippery mess. She worked on my upper back and moved the stones around, but other than that she spent the rest of the time just wiping me down with more oil. I also got a facial which was far below subpar. I could barely feel her massaging my face and she barely did any extractions.
The worst part was that my bg got this a gift certificate and THE OWNER tried to charge me extra for the facial! The gift certificate said '75 m. massage and 45 m. facial'. She said I should have requested a MINI facial, but nowhere on the certificate did it say that. She made me pay for their mistake! In the end, I had to pay her the difference so I could just leave that place and never think of it again!
Please, don't get caught up on the prices. You definitely get what you pay for at the red & white spa!
Cons: Services are subpar; not even close to a spa atmosphere; HORRIBLE Customer service by the owner herself!

First of all I want to say "thank you".
I really enjoyed my time in "Red and White Spa".
I had manicure, pedicure and facial - and every of these treatments were high professional and pleasant.
My best regards to Helena - she made a facial for me, gave me good advices - how to take care about my skin, and I really appreciate her opinion!
Special thanks to a front-desk girl. She was very attentive and pleasant to deal with.
So...what I wanna say is - i want to be treated there - it's for sure!
and I wanna hope that next time I'll spend great time too :-)

I went to the Red and White spa based on location, reviews here, and some specials they were having. I'll never return. My first go round i had a hot stone massage that was subpar, but ok.But I am pretty sure she was not a 'real' masseuse. I got a light rubdown and so much oil I was half waiting for the happy ending. BUT I foolishly figured I'd give it another chance (the price was right!) Next time I got a 'sports massage.' Not only did the massuese hurt my neck really badly, (a week later i am in pain and with a stiff neck - I can hardly turn it) but she did things I've NEVER had a lisenced masseuse do. First, no privacy. When I turned over there was no draping, just a small towel. My lady parts were out there. Maybe this is di rigeur for someone getting a Brazilian, but there are laws about massages. Next, she massaged my butt, and when i had to ask her not to. I've had hundreds of massages and this was just wrong. And I've been sore the next day, but not the next week & not to the extent that I might have to get to the dr. That plus miniscule rooms, waterstained chairs in reception, and both times when I entered the room the bath sized towel was just flung on the table. Sorry, Red and White, never again even with the specials.

Every experience I have had at Red and White has been great. After using three different spas for the Brazilian wax, including Bliss, I started making routine appointments at R&W after my first experience. I have had appointments with three different girls so far, but I routinely go to Dominique, though I wouldn't hesitate to make appointments with any of the other girls there, either. Everyone there is really friendly, not at all stuck up or pretentious. I don't feel "judged" like I do at other places, either. Getting a Brazilian wax is an uncomfortable experience, but the ladies and R&W make it as good as it can possibly be. They're conversational, which is great to take my mind off the fact that I'm sitting on a table bare from the waist down in positions that only my boyfriend should see me. And actually, it's almost to the point where it doesn't even hurt to get it done anymore! The prices are really quite good, and their monthly specials are usually outrageously great deals. Like I said, I've been to Bliss before, too, and I'm telling you, Red and White takes the cake. You won't be disappointed!
Pros: Great value, great staff, great results, low pressure, great atmosphere, nice decor.
Cons: The only thing I can think of to list as a 'con' would be that the decor is not as "expensive looking" as Bliss.

I've been there 2 times already. It is very clean, professional and friendly place. My Brazilian waxer was amazing: quick and gentle. And Deep Pore Cleansing Facial was a really deep pore cleansing one. Even it was a monthly special for the lower price, quality was on the high level.
Pros: clean and quick waxing, quality facials

Normally I'm not the type to write reviews but in this case I feel that it is completely worth my time to say how offended I am about the claims of poor service at the spa. I have tried almost every service and I love the facials. they do wonders. The massages leave me in a state of bliss every single time. I have never had a major issue that needed to be resolved. Any issues or complaints I've had have been completely recepted by the front desk staff. These are things you can easily specify when booking and cannot expect them to know. They will, however, try to accomodate you as best as possible. There is no fancy decor, neither snobby atmosphere. This people give you all the best.

Found out about this spot through spa week. Am i glad cause this was the best facial i ever got. I have combination skin, with black heads on my nose and chin. anyway, once i got there Elena the lady that took great care of me, made them 50% less visible. i got the deep pore cleanser facial. yes, by the time i came out i was pretty red but thats what happens when you get a good facial. just think about it, all that squeezing causes trauma. but the next day you will see how much better your skin feels and looks.
Pros: knowledgable staff just ask
Cons: far from my house

Dear Red & White Spa Team,
I want to thank you for taking such a good care of me. I've been your client for about a year. Every time I come to the spa, I see happy faces around.
Your skin care treatments are the best in the city. After I start coming regularly for the microdermabrasion and Hydrolifting Facial, my skin looks healthy and beautiful.
I'd recommend this place to my friends.
Pros: professional and friendly

I work in Soho and it is nice to have a place to go and get manicure and pedicure done during the lunch. this place is nothing fancy, but simple and professional. All girls are doing a very good job. They are like a little family.
I also got my first massage there for my birthday. Aroma Relaxation Massage was a perfect relieve for stressed city resident.
Pros: all other nessesary comfort present
Cons: no lockers and relax room

I bought my boyfriend his first massage here for Christmas. The receptionist encouraged me to add the tip to the gift card- so I added $20. When my boyfriend went in, the massage was terrible, AND they did not accept the $20 on the gift card as a tip! I had to go back, and get an overpriced manicure. Sure, the manicure lasted longer than usual, but it was not worth $25. Furthermore, my bf is so turned off that he never wants 2 get a professional massage again! I'm so sad that this potentially wonderful experience was an $125 nightmare.

Waxing is quick. I mean very very very quick.... I've had waxings all over NYC and had pretty bad experiences so i know what i'm talking about ! :) The brazilian takes like 15 minutes which is incredible. I'm there once a month for my brazilian almost for a year now.
During their spa week i had the Deep Pore Purifying Facial for 50bucks, it was a great deal for that kind of a facial. Esthetician was attentive.
I don't know about the massages since i haven't tried it yet. I need one badly so i'll try it soon :)
Overall, i've been having good experiences at this place.
Not a very fancy looking spot but to me as long as the staff knows what they're doing and if they're good at it, its not very important.
Pros: Waxing: quick, clean
Cons: Decor: Mediocre

WOW, really great brazilian wax. I went for a 50% off wax special ($25) and wasn't really expecting much since you usually get what you pay for. But I was really pleasantly surprised! I get waxed often enough to know how a bad wax feels and I have gotten some seriously bad/painful waxes in NYC. I usually go to a more expensive place that is really great but the discount made me try out Red & White. Dominka was amazing! She was very skilled, fast, VERY thorough, and relatively pain-free (as pain-free as brazilians can possibly be)! She was really nice and chatted with me through the whole thing. The room was clean and comfortable, sanitary and relaxing. Very very happy with the service and the results :)
Pros: great discount, excellent brazilian with Dominika, nice space

NICE, IMPRESSIVE! WHAT CAN I SAY ALSE? MY DEEP CLEANSING FACIAL WAS DONE VERY WELL , GENTLE AND RELAXING. I BOUGHT SOME OF THE PRODUCTS AFTER MY TREATMENT WAS DONE, BECOUSE I LOVED THE WAY PRODUCTS WORK ON MY SKIN.
THANKS TO RED & WHITE SPA TEAM. I FEEL HAPPY!

JUST WENT TO RED AND WHITE SPA TODAY FOR MY BIRTHDAY. IT WAS A VERY PLEASURABLE EXPERIENCE. THE PLACE IS VERY CLEAN AND THE STAFF IS FRIENDLY COURTEOUS AND PROFESSIONAL. I CAUGHT A DEAL WITH SPA WEEK WHERE THE SERVICES WERE $50 EACH AND WELL WORTH IT. I GOT A HOT STONE THERAPY MASSAGE AND A EUROPEAN FACIAL. IT WAS AN ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE AND I WOULD DEFINITELY GO BACK. THIS PLACE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IN MY OPINION. LB FROM QUEENS.

I walked in on a Sunday for an eyebrow and sideburns wax. I didn't have to wait long, but the wax was awful! I asked for the "sensitive" wax and it hurt more than a brazilian! My face was burning for hours afterwards. I got a rash on party of my face, and she didn't even get all the hair off. I don't know about the other services, but don't recommend getting waxed here.
Pros: No wait
Cons: Painful, ineffective waxing, on the expensive side

I went to this salon because it received such high ratings on Citysearch and hoped to find a great new place. I never realized I'd end up with the worst facial. I'm just happy that I still have a layer of skin on my face, even if it looks horrible and hurts. In any case, I'm disappointed and will never go back. Wish someone would've warned me. I've never posted a review before but felt compelled to do so because my experience was such a NEGATIVE one!!!

The thing that I hate the most, but can not avoid, is getting my bikini line ready for public view. I want to be perfectly hairless not only during summer season but ALWAYS. People who have ever tried this thing know how bad it is. Pure torture. However, after a long suffering and searching, I found a place where this presedure is done as pain free as possible. Go to Red & White and ask Luba or Domenika work on you! Trust me, I'll be their long-term clients.
Also, I would suggest to get pedicure as well. Why? It lasts 2 weeks. And I am a rollerblader. It says a lot, doesn't it?
Pros: Service
Cons: Parking; necessity to call a few days in advance to make a weekend appointment

Hello there,
I just wanted to email you to let you know that I really enjoyed my experiences at your spa yesterday, August 8th. I found your summer special that said if you book services that total at least $150, your total bill will be 50% off. I booked an eyebrow wax, the Swedish massage and the Red Spa manicure and pedicure. Everyone was so pleasant and the services were so relaxing! Your facility is well-kept and clean and nicely decorated. I will most definitely return to the Red and White Spa in the near future and have already recommended your spa to all of my friends!
Thank you so much for a most memorable experience!
Sincerely yours,
May Ly

I showed up for my appointment but someone forgot to put in computer. Argued with me for 15 minutes, but finally found my contact info & credit card info in computer.
could not reschedule for days.
not terribly apologetic.
People are too busy in NY to make time for appointments & pay cab fare to get there to be rudely argued with & turned away.
Cons: poor scheduling

My aesthetician at Red & White Spa was VERY quick, professional, and thorough!
Pros: Brazilian wax
Cons: salon looked "cheap"

I just went to Red & White Spa for the first time this past weekend and I had a wonderful facial! The staff was efficient and friendly and Helen who did my facial was attentive, skilled, and gentle. I highly recommend this spa. Great location too!

Such a fun place! My massage was great! Staff was so professional! I loved everything about that Spa. My girlfriend came with me to get her pedicure done. It was some kind of fancy one, named Garden Pedicure. She was amaised how much her feed were pumpered!
I agree with everything good people say about Red & White, and was shoked to find that bad review. But I guess people are different and it is impossible to satisfy everyone.
Pros: professional staff, clean, fun

It was my first time at Red & White on Monday, and I was very pleased with everything. My Quick Vitality Facial was wonderful. My esthetician was so professional and polite. She recommended some products for me for home use. I've been using it for 4 days already and I am very happy about that.
Spa looked very beautiful and clean.
I liked it very much.
Pros: resonable prices, clean, wonderful stuff

for mother's day i sent my mom to red & white and i also made an appointment for myself to get treated. it was such a good idea! my mom was so happy with her anti rinkle facial and manicure! and i received 60 min aroma massage and full leg and brazilian wax. the massage was very relaxing and well done, and my wax girl was very professional and gentle.
it seamed like everyone at spa was very relaxed and pleased.
the frontdesk person was very safisticated. she was checking out 5 piople at the same time, and it seamed like everyone was not left without attention and her charming smile.
on our way out we received a little gifts (for comming together as we were explaned).
we coming back in july for the big summer specials they have.
feels so good to find a right place for relaxation and beauty.
Pros: resonable prices, good products, clean

after visiting the red & white spa for a detox treatment, i will never return! the staff was horrible, the spa was dirty, and a total waste of money.
i arrived 5 minutes early for an appointment and waited 25 mintues while the staff argued with each other.
the staff was rude - talking during my treatment, phones ringing constantly, and people opening the room door - NOT RELAXING.
know before you go (if you are forced to):
1. tips must be paid in cash (never mentioned anywhere)
2. you have to tip 20% min even if your service was horrible AND you have to tip EVERYONE, i ended up spending more money on tipping than the actual service.
there are wonderful spas in new york - GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
Pros: none
Cons: dirty, rude staff, horrible experience
Posted 11/21/05
The massage, facial and pedicure I received were great! The staff is very friendly and professional. The place is clean, and very relaxing. I love the decor! You should check it out.
Pros: Good deals, Great location, Intimate

I'm a regular client of Red & White Spa. I visit that place ones a month to see my massge terapist Zoia. She realy helps me to recover from the stress and forget about all my problems so far. Not long ago I founded out that they got this new treatment acupuncture. I was told that it is realy good way to loose some weight (I have this problem right after I gave a birth to my dougther). I made an appointment last Saturday and had my first experience. It felt a little bit weird when my acupuncture professional Elina sticked that tiny little niddles into my body. I liked the way I felt after. I bought a package, so I can keep loosing some weight and save my money as well.
Thank you, Red & White Spa

Their pedicure says "reflexology" but my local salon does much better.

My daughter leaves near the Red and White Spa and gave me a gift certificate for a massage and facial.
I had facials and massages before, but I truly enjoyed the professional abilities of the staff and the charm and cordiality of the owner. I definitely recommend the Red and White Spa. I am looking forward for my next treatment in June.
Pros: Near subway, Cozy, Excellent Staff

Good Afternoon,
I was a first-timer at your spa yesterday. Thank you for the lovely treatment you provided. My face feels 'different', clean and fresh. The manicure and pedicure were detailed ( the way I like) and the facial was wonderful! I would have preferred a stronger massage during my treatments, but each has their own technique. Also, I was quite chilly during my visit, hopefully the temperature could be adjusted in the future.
Thank you again for a pleasant experience and I would recommend you in the future. If you are running any specials, please advise me via interest, if possible.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Belton

The perfect end to a day of shopping or a great place to stop in before a night out! Massages, manicures, pedicures & facials in a clean, crisp new spa!
Pros: clean, new, friendly
Posted 05/16/05
I was very pleased with the service and the professionalism of the staff. The atmosphere is pleasant and everything in the spa has a warm touch to it, not to mention a trendy look. I have bought few products that I would recommand and are of a great quality and very reasonable pricing. I highly recommand the Red & White Spa, especially for massage, facial, and any exfoliation treatment.
Pros: Great Service, Good products, Good location

I just got the worst massage of my life there. the massage table was so hard it hurt my back and so narrow, i had nowhere to put my arms. when i asked for a pillow under my legs, the masseuse had to roll up towels. what place that calls itself a spa, doesn't have comfortable massage tables and pillows. the masseuse only massaged me for 45 minutes, if you can call it a massage! she lightly rubbed in lotion, even though i let her know three times that she can massage me harder. my boyfriend was getting a massage in the other room and while he could hear my massage table squeaking, his massage was SO hard, he has rugburn on his legs. he says it was like being massaged by the east german women's olympic team. enough said. my BACK HURTS MORE THAN WHEN I WENT IN!
