Reviews for Bubbles Salon At Virginia Gateway

Ratings_icons not 1 bad experience

I have been to the same Bubbles three times and left happy with my newest look with the same consistency. My colorist, Stacy, did a fantastic job with my highlights and they are still vibrant a year later! The service is great, but the waiting area is VERY small. I've had some issues with the cost; they charged me for long hair, but mine is more thick... My color and cut cost about $90 so they are expensive.

I have tried Bubbles for my second time now and each time I have been I leave pissed off and unsatisfied. The stylists are extremely rude and do not listen to what you have to say but rather what they think. I have never completely liked my hair cut/color when I left. It is never what I wanted. I just go along with that they say because the stylists are so very rude and pushy. Considering how expensive (180$ for partial color and to trim my bangs) the place is you would think that they would tend to you like royalty and do your hair how you want.

Ratings_icons amazing.

i went into bubbles not knowing what to expect considering i heard that bubbles was an awesome salon from everyone i talked to, but i came on here and saw the reviews and was being persuaded otherwise. i was about ten minutes late but when i went into the salon i was greeted with smiles and cared for right away by bonita. she was extremely friendly, laughed and joked around with me, asked me what i wanted and went over what i wanted, she told me what products to use, asked me how my day was going and made general conversation, and at the end recommended some products that she used that i absolutely loved. she gave me her card and told me to have a great day.. it was just what i would expect from a salon. when i went to pay i was asked if i was okay on products , if i needed a card or wanted to reschedule and when i went in the next day to buy the products, the girl at the front desk described the products to me and told me what products she used and joked around with me.
and not to mention the most important thing, my hair looked AMAZING. i wanted full highlights (blonde), a layered trim and side swept bangs. she gave me exactly what i wanted, plus more. and she styled my fine so that it had tons of volume and stayed throughout the night and into the next day. i got so many compliments on it
i would DEFINITELY recomment this salon to anyone!

Ratings_icons They do Ethinc hair

I am an African American woman with relaxed hair that is several inches past my shoulders. The salon was recommend by an acquaintance and I have been pleased with the service over the past few months. The only odd item is that corporate policy does not permit the use of stoves so all styling is done with electric irons.

I highly recommend any of the African American stylists for basic chemical treatments and styling.

NOTE: Go to another salon if you are looking for a more trendy, urban look.

Ratings_icons Good Experience

I recently had a haircut by the new manager, Bonita, and was extremely satisfied. Price was great, and style is excellent. Although I was a half hour late due to traffic, I was taken right away. Very pleasant experience.

Ratings_icons WTF Ummm NO

What was I thinking? Is all I thought as I drove away. Was I in some alien universe? I was ignored, seated in a crammed waiting area, and tended to in a mad rush. I wanted subtle blonde highlights and I was given thick chunky prison stripes on my head. The receptionist: rude, the stylist: more rude, and the service: terrible. do not recommend to my worst enemy!

Ratings_icons Expensive, must wait for service...

I have been going to Bubbles, since I like my stylist there... but everytime I go, I feel very overcharged, and trying to get in and out of there never happens. There are always customers taken in between which makes your haircut/color take forever. I wouldn't mind this as much if I wasn't paying as much as they charge, but I feel for salon prices, they should only take one customer at a time. I am trying a new place for my next appointment!

Ratings_icons not so enjoyable

Interesting to learn after paying $115 for hair cut, partial highlight and some kind of deep condition treatment I didn't know I was going to pay for that this salon is actually owned by The Hair Cuttery and many of the stylists work both places, just charging more for no better service or comfort in the salon. I go for the experience and it wasn't horrible but certainly wasn't hospitable - I was there two hours and never even offered a cup of water. My hair color looks fine but the cut is pretty outrageous, despite the stylists' constant reassurance that her hair cuts are wonderful. I don't recommend this salon.

I've taken my daughter to Bubbles twice, but never again. The first trip, for highlights was alright, although the wait was excessive. The second trip for a simple cut was a disaster. After a long wait, she received a new stylist who didn't speak sufficient english and who ended up putting perm solution rather than hair gel onto her hair and blow drying it. The management offered a condition treatment to help alleviate some of the damage, but that is little consolation to a teenager whose long hair now has to be cut short. The Hair Cuttery around the corner is more consistent and less expensive.
