This brother and sister team are dynamic! They bring a true sense of balance to every single class - mind, body and spirit. They are able to teach and motivate the youngest 3 year old through to any adult, regardless of fitness level, experience or ability. They bring out the best in everyone with their fun and sincere approach. The only thing they require is commitment to your own growth, at your pace. You will not regret joining this team - my daughters and I LOVE being students of martial arts under the direction of Mr. Nabaiee and Ms. Nazy!! Esah!!

My son has been attending Nabaiee's Family Martial Arts for over 2 years now and we couldn't be more pleased with the learning environment that Mr. Nabaiee and his family have created for both children and adults. That's why over the past year, both my husband and I have joined the adult class, and we now practice martial arts together as a family.
The children's programs do a wonderful job of familiarizing students with the martial arts basics (primarily Tae Kwon Do) while, at the same time, instilling in them importance of healthy living, community, respect, courtesy, and integrity. I think that's what I like most about the programs... they don't just teach the physical aspect of martial arts, but also stress the importance of these other values and characteristics.... something that I don't think kids these days hear enough about.
The same goes for the adults classes... you learn about the physical forms and movements of the art, but you also learn about being more mindful, practicing self control, and being a better, happier person. You don't get that kind of lesson at a gym, and in my opinion, your mental health deserves just as much attention as your physical health.
Additionally, I like the fact that the classes at Nabaiee's Family Martial Arts are not competition focused, but are instead focused on being able to defend yourself in realistic situations and use what you learn to protect yourself and those you love. While they do have competitive drills, such as sparring (when you get higher up in the ranks), the goal is to learn how to react in such situations, not to be able to win a medal. In my opinion, it's a healthier form of competition, mostly against yourself; It's about making yourself the best you can be and not comparing yourself to everyone else.
Again, if you are looking for a family friendly, goal oriented program for yourself or your child, this is the place to go. I have never considered going anywhere else.

My son has been learning from Mr. Nabaiee since he was three years old. We've been so impressed with the family friendly environment of the school that we followed Mr. Nabaiee from Silver Spring [where he used to teach] to their current location in Columbia.

This is a family run business, and it shows; from the way they interact with the kids and parents to the 'reading room' they set up for the little kids to play and for the bigger kids to do homework.

I couldn't ask for a better school. We commute from Baltimore to attend this school, and it's time well spent.
