Save a Lot used to be located down the street from where it is now and the previous location was not what I would have called "nice". However, last year they moved into a new building (the old Eagle) and now they have a really nice store with the same great products (and even more now it seems) and the same great prices. I don't shop there often, it's more of a stock-up kind of place - great for paper goods, detergents, canned foods, rice, etc. I don't buy a whole lot of refrigerator or freezer stuff there (we eat mostly organic foods), but my kids love their "Country Crossing" cheese slices so I usually try to buy them when I'm there as a treat. The kids also love their flavored pop. Also a great place to go if you're having a party - cheap, cheap prices on chips, buns, bread, etc. Their prices are just about the same as Aldi, but they take checks which is a must with me. This store is a "very good" store - they don't have the quality of food for a "world class" rating, however, they're pretty darn good for the price!

PROS: Great prices, nice new location & they take checks!
CONS: Not the greatest "quality" products like you'd find at a "better" store
