My son is almost 4 months old and has been going to Blue Giraffe since he was 6 weeks old. Any mother knows that the first time you drop your child off at daycare is a scary experience. The staff couldn't have been more friendly or accomodating. They were all great!! (even offered me tissues as I handed over my little guy) Since the first time we stepped foot in the facility for a tour, the entire staff has been so helpful. So far, we're big supporters of the Blue Giraffe.

I have had both my boys attend this facility over the past four years and can say that I truly feel like I made the right decision sending them here! My oldest who just "graduated" and now my youngest who still attends, have had the same teachers for the duration of their time there which I find amazing compared to the usual high turnover rate you see at most of these types of facilities. The teachers are genuinely interested in the kids and really go out of their way to be on the same page with parents on how to handle each individual child's needs. I would highly recommend any parent looking for an affordable, safe, educational, fun, and nurturing environment for their child to see if their is room available at this facility as you will not be disappointed!!!

All 3 of my boys attended the Blue Giraffe. It is by far the safest environment for your newborn, toddler or "big kid". The staff has been their for years, I don't trust a daycare with staff turnover every year. The activities are nurturing and fun. Every time one of my boys left they had a mouthful to talk about. When it was time to attend public school they were more than ready physically, mentally and academically!
WE MISS YOU BLUE GIRAFFE!

My son has attended The Blue Giraffe for almost a month now. He is there twice a week and has learned so much in just a short period of time. Although he turned 2 over the summer, he is counting to 10 and says his ABCs with pride. We really appreciate the care and individual attention that the teachers give to each child. He knows he is special and when we go to pick him up, he is quite sure that mom & dad should "sit down and listen to the story". The office staff was very welcoming from the beginning and that level of professionalism trickles down into the classroom.
The only bit of disappointment is the "typical school food" that they are fed. We were spoiled in our last daycare because they had their own kitchen and cook. I think that was a great selling point and money well spent there. On the flip side though, we can send in a lunch if we wish.
Overall, we are very pleased and would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a safe, caring, and active environment for their child.

The director at this daycare center goes out of her way to make my son feel welcome! He has a hard time adjusting to new situations and hates to be away from me. She calms him down in the morning by taking him around the facility and redirecting him to keep his mind off of me leaving him. He has really learned a lot here. I like the fact that they have gym at least once a day, and on nice days they go out to the playground and on really nice days, they put swimmy trunks on them and they run through the sprinklers! There is also a swipe card to get into the facility, and if you forget, you have to id yourself and the office buzzes you in, although they do get a bit annoyed when you forget, which I don't blame them. One problem I do find, which is common in this field, is the large turnover rate. It seems every time I go to pick him up, there is a new staff member. There is, however, a core group that has been there in the year my son has attended.

My son has attended this center for just a few months, he had previously attended another center. During this short time, I have seen a drastic, positive improvement in his behavior, in his social and language skills, and in his motor skills. He absolutely loves going to "school". There is a lot of structure for the children, they know what is expected of them and lots of solid social "rules". The children have various "jobs" they can pick (this is an honor, not a chore), it gives him an incredible sense of responsibility and builds his self-esteem. Every week there is a theme for activities and each day revolves around a different aspect of the theme. There seems to be very little turnover of staff - they seem to genuinely enjoy being there and get a kick out of the great accomplishments the children are making. The center is kept very clean and secure, it's bright and cheerful and kid-friendly. The teachers and administrators are very good communicators. For example, the lead teacher noticed that my son was often sitting with his legs tucked back to his sides - she took the initiative to talk to a therapist who came to see another child and found out that it could affect his hip structure/balance in the future. She told me what she had learned and together we worked on correcting how he was sitting. There is clearly a high level of professionalism and competence at The Blue Giraffe - and that makes me one happy Mommy!

My daughter has been going to this daycare since she was 8 weeks old. She is now almost four. I love the people at this daycare. They enforce manners, learning, sharing and are not short on hugs and kisses. It is clear everyone who works there loves children!!

PROS: Good environment.. Great teachers. Flexible hours.
CONS: Parking a pain sometimes.

Many of the staff seem very engaged with the kids and seem to be genuinely excited when they reach milestones like crawling or walking or talking etc. The directors try to stay up to date on child development issues and they conduct their business in a very professional manner. The price is among the most reasonable in Buffalo. My only complaint is that the lunches provided often include a lot of processed materials and the snacks frequently lack nutritional value altogether (e.g. Oreos). From conversing with other parents, though, this is typical of most daycare establishments.

PROS: Cost, enthusiasm, clean facility
CONS: lunches and snacks that are less than optimal nutritionally

This daycare may not be the best in the area but the staff is caring and considerate of the children. The pricing is reasonable and affordable for the working parents. The staff could be a little more engaging with the children but this may be an individual basis since I have not interacted with all the staff. My calls to the daycare are always answered quickly and courteously.

PROS: Staffing and Price
CONS: Could be more engaging

While Blue Giraffe offers a lower rate than many area day cares, you get what you pay for! Breakfast is not offered as it was in our previous day care center. When KenTon is off, the center does not provide lunch. The building is old
