Donate Your Stuff!

by TJ F.

This thriftshop is great. My goodness, ignore the neighborhood comment of the last reviewer, as it WAS somewhat of a bad neighborhood about 20 years ago! King Street Alexandria is a safe place to walk from the Metro to the Potomac. Just walk with a friend if you are that concerned or park nearby. The shop is not open at night anyway. Donate your small stuff and help a good cause. You get a tax deduction slip. From the shop's website:

Go but beware!

by joe b. | insider Insider | Rank: 21,321

I agree with the other reviewer that this is a great store. I also like how the donations are tax deductible. But its located in the only bad part of King street so I definitely wouldn't go there at night.

For a great cause!

by Maureen S. | insider Insider | Rank: 18,995

The Prevention Of Blindness Thrift Shop (I think the sign outside says "Look Again") is located right on King Street... if you have time to do some digging, you can find some great bargains! They sell books, housewares, clothes (in the back), knick-knacks just about anything you can think of! They also take donations (which are tax-deductible). A great shop that benefits a great cause!
