My goodness, ignore the neighborhood comment of the last reviewer, as it WAS somewhat of a bad neighborhood about 20 years ago! King Street Alexandria is a safe place to walk from the Metro to the Potomac. Just walk with a friend if you are that concerned or park nearby. The shop is not open at night anyway. Donate your small stuff and help a good cause. You get a tax deduction slip. I also like how the donations are tax deductible. But its located in the only bad part of King street so I definitely wouldn't go there at night. They sell books, housewares, clothes (in the back), knick-knacks just about anything you can think of! They also take donations (which are tax-deductible). A great shop that benefits a great cause!
