Michael set me up with David due to his expertise with training athletes as well as his athletic experience himself (previously a semi-pro triathlete). The training has been intense but I am seeing amazing results already. I am hoping to get into the best shape of my life and shave an hour off my marathon time. So far so good! Highly recommended!

I'd been curious about weight training for a while, but didn't have the knowledge or motivation to learn it on my own. A friend of mine told me about the benefits of having a trainer, so I called One-on-One Fitness in February 1999. In the first phone call, Michael was asked about my specific fitness goals. I hadn??t thought about it that way. My first goal was to tone up, while not hurting myself, and learn about what I was doing?and that??s what we worked on first. From there, my goals have changed and evolved; the trainers modify what we do and how we do it, to achieve the goals and keep it interesting. Now it's over 10 years later, and I keep going because it feels good to be in shape. It became a discipline and a commitment to myself.

At the age of 45, I realized that I needed to try something new. I worked too much, ate the wrong things, and generally felt lousy. Further, whenever I had previously attempted to begin a self-directed work-out routine, it ended soon after due to soreness, minor injury, or crisis at the office. I needed help; and I decided that it was time to hire a personal trainer. Unfortunately, I didn??t know how to make this decision.

I began by searching the internet; and in my quest I viewed multiple web-sites and web listings. Through little more than ??gut feeling,? I narrowed the possibilities down to a manageable list and then I began to contact the finalists. Michael Sokol from One-on-One Fitness immediately impressed, as he began by first determining what my level of fitness was and what my goals were. Michael then described the services his firm offered, and specifically how he could help me to reach my goals. We talked about weight lifting strategies, recommended forms of aerobic exercise, and Michael??s dietary rules that were sure to provide success! After answering all of my questions (and there were many!) thoroughly, I was sold; and I agreed to try One-on-One for three months. I can??t tell what a great decision that was!

Shortly after our initial conversation, Michael introduced me to one of his trainers (Chris Rangel), and my training began in earnest. Chris began by having me perform a battery of exercises to determine my athletic ability, my strength and my stamina. He also, as Michael promised, provided several lectures concerning diet, stretching, and other relevant topics; effectively creating a comprehensive fitness program designed for me. As each week passed, Chris challenged me with varied and increasingly difficult workouts designed to achieve my various goals. Some weeks, the sessions were geared to increased strength, while others were geared toward flexibility and aerobic capacity. Either way, Chris always showed up on time, was always pre-prepared with a new and challenging work-out, and always had time to answer my many questions. Chris is unbelievable, and I am grateful for his efforts on my behalf!

In closing, let me say that I have accomplished much during these past three months, and I have re-upped for another 3 month package. Chris has exceeded every expectation that I had with respect to a training relationship, and I am thrilled with the progress I have made to date. Further, Michael has reached out to me on various occasions (often at the gym!) to make sure that all of my training needs were being addressed. I am truly a satisfied client, and I give One-on-One fitness my absolute highest recommendation! See you at the gym!

I was apprehensive about joining One-on-One Fitness at first. I'd hired other trainers before, spent a great deal of money and found myself with nothing but an empty wallet at the end of my sessions.

However, with One-on-One they not only worked with me "1 on 1" three days a week, they gave me the tools I needed to eat better (right down to reminder calls to have a snack in the middle of the afternoon), lessons on how to exercise while traveling (even lending me work-out bands to use in my hotel room) and the confidence to try new cardio and weight exercises I never would have tried on my own.

Today, at 42 years old, I look better and feel better then I did at 22 and now that I've found something that really works, I'm sticking with it.

I had always been fairly healthy and in good physical shape. But after my doctor told me my cholesterol was high, she ordered me to lose twenty pounds or go on medication. I did not want to take medication, so I made the decision to invest in myself and hire a personal trainer. I interviewed several, but One-on-One Fitness web site really stood out. When I spoke to Michael, I immediately felt confortable. He isprofessional, direct and honest and lets you know that with the combination of strength training, cardio, and proper nutrition that you will get the results you want. After many years of yo-yoing through various diet programs, some requiring exercise, most not ?? I had had enough and now needed to drop not just the 40 pounds I originally aimed to drop, but an additional 70 I added after my last big heart break. I tried a gym membership ?? and quickly learned I had no idea what to do. Finally I summed up the courage and purchased one of the gym??s personal trainer programs. Funny thing was it wasn??t personal and there was little training. If I didn??t run the guy down, he would never follow through. I needed someone to push me, not the other way around. When I stopped calling, the big impersonal gym and its trainer never called.

Fast forward a year, and seeing my sister??s success working with a personal trainer in another state. I was encouraged to try the personal trainer route again.

I found One-on-One Fitness through their web site, and was a little intimidated at first. Then I spoke with Michel Sokol on the phone and I knew that his personality was right for the job ?? honest, straight forward, committed, knowledgeable and serious about helping people achieve their goals.

I??ve been working with Michael for almost three (3) months and have made excellent progress. What??s the difference? Michael might say it is the combination of Cardio, Strengthening and Nutrition that his program offers, and that is true ?? but it is more than that. Michael invests himself in my success. After my first workout with him I got home ?? still red faced, huffing and puffing and the phone rang, it was Michael asking how I was doing ?? was I sore, where was I sore what to take for relief and making sure that I planned to have the last of my 6 meals of the day.

BINGO! Whoever say??s business is not personal is wrong. From my prospective One-on-One Personal Fitness, lead by Michael Sokol, is a successful business because it is personal. Thanks Michael!

I began my search for a personal fitness trainer by making calls to a few trainers who had advertisements around the gym. Most of the trainers either called me back a few days later, or not at all. However, One-on-One Fitness owner Michael Sokol called me right away and consulted me over the phone, in great detail. Then he set up an appointment to meet. Michael impressed me during our initial interview. He explained One-on-One Fitness' training philosophy and designed a custom training plan for me. Some trainers just show up and put you through a workout. One-on-One Fitness trainers, on the other hand, take careful notes and make sure you are making progress. Their workouts are intense, safe, effective, and fun. Their workouts, combined with their diet recommendations, helped me make a lot of progress in only three months! Michael impressed me during our initial interview. He explained One-on-One Fitness' training philosophy and designed a custom training plan for me. Some trainers just show up and put you through a workout. One-on-One Fitness trainers, on the other hand, take careful notes and make sure you are making progress. Their workouts are intense, safe, effective, and fun. Their workouts, combined with their diet recommendations, helped me make a lot of progress in only three months! I had been a fairly thin person all my life, but after having my daughter, the pregnancy weight stayed on (and I gained an excessive amount of weight). I signed up with One-on-One Fitness to help me meet my weight loss goals. Before training with One-on-One I had rarely even gone to the gym so my trainer had to educate me on the basics - from how to use the gym equipment to how to eat a nutritionally balanced meal. Since signing up, I've reached my weight loss goal and am in the best shape of my life at age 36! The best part is that the entire experience was enjoyable. I actually like to work-out now.

I wanted to take minute and share my experience with One-on-One, and specifically with Michael Sokol.

At the beginning of April, I was 37 yrs old, 6'5" and 270 lbs. (VERY overweight and not getting any better). I have had 3 back surgeries for an injury and degenerative disc disease, so I have very little disc matter left between L2-3, 4-5 and L5S-1, which keeps me in constant pain. Obviously, being overweight was not helping and being on 200 mg of Oxycontin wasn't going to solve my problem either! Additionally, I was struggling to play with my 3 yr old.

Fortunately, my brother got on a health kick and signed up with Michael in Scottsdale, AZ. After an impressive month of training with Michael, he was nice enough to buy me a gift of 1 month of training, which I started in mid-April.

Since then, I have lost about 10 lbs, but the REAL story is that my muscle mass has increased significantly and I am down to taking only 20 mg of percocet each day. My eating habits have completely changed, and I feel great!

Let me address how I've done this. Basically, I listened to Michael! I followed his program and I made a decision to change my life. Interestingly enough, these are the things that Michael told me I would have to do BEFORE he asked me for 1 dime, before he even decided IF he would accept me as a client!

In closing, I would HIGHLY recommend Michael and One-On-One Fitness, he is a dedicated businessman and I am convinced that he truly loves to help people achieve and maintain their fitness goals. I can tell you that my daughter for one is thrilled that Dad can run and jump and play now...it's been too long since I could do that.
