I love Citysearch and it's unfortunate that my first post is a complaint.

My fiance purchased an engagement ring from Jewels Unlimited last year and proposed to me on New Year's Eve. After seeing the owner, Sonya, on KSEE 24 numerous times, he assumed this was a reputable place that did good work. It is now July and I've been wearing my ring since New Year's Eve. 7 months. Guess what? Last night, I took my ring off to put lotion on my hands. When I placed it on the kitchen table, the center stone popped out. I took it to Warner's today on the recommendation of a friend to see if they could re-set the stone (why take take it back to Jewels Unlimited and let them screw up again?). In addition to the obvious initial problem, the jeweler also showed me 4 stones in the setting that were loose.

I forgave the fact that the 18 carat "white gold" was noticeably yellow. I forgave the fact that the cuts they made in the ring itself were rough and sometimes scratched me. We're not rich people. We can't afford Tiffany. But the stone falling out? Give me a break. It's not like the average person has the money to replace a diamond every year, let alone in 7 months! I have a ring from Walmart that I got in high school that is still 100% intact... and I was rough with that ring!

Terrible craftsmanship. They should really be embarrassed. I'm just thankful this happened at home and not at the mall or in a swimming pool.

By the way... the ring was never re-sized, so there is no excuse for the loose diamonds other than lack of skill.
