When I went here to dine, I expected what everyone had bragged about, an extrememly nice dining experience. It was a disaster, the owner's wife ended up in a fight with a young girl who was evidently a girlfriend to her son. She punched the young girl in the left side of her face and they both cussed and screamed at each other. The owner instead of fixing things made it worse but cussing the young girl as well. All of this in front of a young child, which I am guessing was her child. Will never be back, who gave these people their own business?

This is my favorite restaurant to visit when I'm back home in Asheboro! The owner is so friendly and makes you want to eat there just to see him! I love their Greek and Turkish offerings, but they have typical southern fair as well. This is a place I feel comfortable bringing my young children.

The main reason why I wanted to try Something Different was because it advertised vegetarian choices on their menu. I found the restaurant to be a little confusing, to be quite honest. The chef, who was in the front of the house being very delightful and welcoming, greeted everyone who came through its doors...which was very intimate and nice for a change. The food was served beautifully on artful dishes, and was quite good. I was very impressed. The confusion is this: the style and food of the restaurant is so much better than the actual restaurant and waitstaff. The poor waitresses were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. I thought for such a nice restaurant, they lacked professionalism. The restaurant was full, but there wasn't any good system for checking out - you had to pay the cashier on your way out, rather than paying your waiter or waitress. I'd really like to see them do well. I think the chef should be proud of himself . He's got a great menu and great kitchen staff...just needs to get a better waitstaff and revamp the physical look of the restaurant. Looking forward to my next meal there.
