This morning, 8/2/14, I sent an inquiry through the Honda website for a 2014 Honda Odyssey. I went to Gunn Honda to test drive with my family.

I received an email from the manager, Keith Keller, stating that the MSRP for the Honda Odyssey we drove was $42,710, and my "One Simple Price" was $36,798. My wife and I discussed the price decided to purchase the Odyssey. When I saw the sales form, they had the Honda Odyssey listed at $39,500. I stated that the manager, Keith sent from the Gunn Honda dealership which was $36,798.

He left for about 5 minutes and returned with the manager, Keith Keller and Keith stated that "they made a mistake" and they would be happy to sell me the vehicle at cost which was $38,500.00 and people make mistakes and he was sorry. Here we go, the ol' "we made a mistake, but we'll be happy to sell the car for cost" trick.

Let's give them the benefit of doubt for one minute and just assume that there is a 0.001% chance that it could have been a mistake. Don't you think a reputable dealership would just stand by their written "One Simple Price" promise and just take care of their loyal returning customer? If Gunn had a good reputation and wanted to maintain it, they would just admit it was a mistake, honor the written price they game me, and reduce the price a mere $1,702.00 and take care of their loyal returning customer that lives in the neighborhood?? Of course a reputable company would, but Gunn did not. This is a dealership that is not concerned with their reputation, the San Antonio community, or their "One Simple Price" promise. They are just concerned with extracting as much money as possible from their loyal returning neighborhood customers!!

Beware of Gunn's One Simple Price, it's just a scam and a way of getting you into the dealership and wasting your time! Gunn Spends millions of dollars a year advertising but they haven't still haven't learned that word of mouth, honor, and reputation are the best forms of advertising.

I visited Gunn Honda on June 16, 2011 with the intention of purchasing a pre-owned vehicle, and left after two and a half hours with an extremely low appraisal and a broken air conditioner on my trade-in vehicle. I am not sure what the appraiser did but the A/C was working when I entered the lot and the fan would not work when he was done with his two hour appraisal. He did mention something about really wanting to ??push? systems when he conducted an appraisal. He asked me ??if there was anything that I wanted to tell him about the A/C?. There was an attempt to call General Motors to see if there was a known problem but I was informed the appraiser had the wrong number. The Accord that I was interested in had been viewed several days prior to my visit though Gunn??s web site. I called the salesman to inform him of the date and time of my visit to test drive the vehicle. I could not even look at the Honda that I was interested in because it was being ??serviced??. While we were looking for another particular model, the salesman abruptly abandoned us when he saw 2 women that he recognized and went to go visit with them. In the showroom I was told that I could leave and that the vehicle I was interested in would be brought out to me the next day (I live in a neighboring county), and that the appraiser would call me when he arrived at a figure. Was I being encourage to leave the dealership? I believe that because I entered the Gunn Honda dealership with a ??gas guzzling?? SUV that I was viewed as a waste of time. The Gunn ad says they pride themselves on a ??no pressure sales approach? but I never expected simple apathy. I would think that a motivated prospect with an upper tier credit rating would be a valuable commodity at any auto dealership. Normally a visit to an auto dealer for the purpose of purchasing a new or pre owned vehicle can be a fun and exciting experience. This was anything but. The 45 minute drive home in the heat and humidity was no picnic either. The GM of Gunn Honda told me that he would reimburse me the deductible for the repair of the A/C and after sending the requested work order to date have not received a response. I have since purchased a vehicle from another dealer and will never consider the Gunn Group in the future.

I asked to finance a Honda Fit with Honda Financial Services instead they tried with 3 different banks I had to sign multiple applications at the end they didn't want to finance the car with Honda. I bought my car at Fernandez Honda using Honda Finance Services. It looks that they get extra money from the banks and don't care about helping their customers.

Gunn Honda charged me more than the average retail price on my vehicle, but blinded by the no haggle fog, I thought it was worth it. My car broke down less than 10 days later due to a hole in the power steering fluid. When they fixed that, I asked about a green substance leaking onto the motor and they told me it was nothing. Less than 90 days later, the car again broke down on my way back from a trip. This time it was the transmission. I was stranded in Dallas overnight and had to pay for a hotel, extra meals, etc. Very costly. I was told it looked as though the transmission fluid had never been changed (in my 2003) and that the green substance was a leak in the coolent. I was also informed I would need a new oil pan. So out of all the fluids Gunn Honda supposedly checks for free, I have had a problem with 4 of them. Conveniently, I have now gone over my 3000 mile warranty and they admitted there was a leak in the coolant. Their ever so helpful manager told me that I could trade the car in and buy a new one. Less than three months after I bought this car, there is no way I would give Gunn Honda one more dime.

I had a mixed experience. Went during the Memorial day sale. They made a big deal about the "One Simple Price" - the price you see posted on the car is what you pay - no bargaining. Sounded fair and simple. The prices were slightly higher than other local dealers. However, my biggest surprise and disappointment came when I was about to trade in my old vehicle and asked if they could match the price on the new one with a local dealer. THe salesman said just for that day the prices had been sliced to the lowest price of the vehichle (same model) that has been longest on the inventory. He offered this after I asked him to match the price. In five minutes, they reduced the price by around $1200. However, the pressure was to buy it that same day, which I did not want to do because I wanted to research on installing DVD player. When I called back next day, they had gone back to the original price and would not back off and honor the price they offered previous day (went up by $1200). I refused to buy. So much for OSP!! It was not like the Honda company had stopped any of their rebates etc. I would never go back to them (the salesman, to his credit was nice to us). It is the price thing that completely seemed unfair.

I bought a CRV from Gunn Honda (I-10 & UTSA Blvd.) four weeks ago. No pressure. They were extremely patient and the finance manager worked very hard to get me the financing I wanted. Because they valued my business and because my family had already purchased three vehicles from Gunn Honda in the past year and a half, they gave me a great deal on my trade-in. I had a set budget and no one forced me to go over budget as I searched for cars. Damon and Freeman were excellent reps. Gunn also made available for me at no cost an owner's class. During the class they provided refreshments and brought in actual vehicles to show others like me (female) the ins and outs of servicing their vehicle, where everything is located under the hood, how to gauge tire pressure and discussed at length how the internal monitoring systems worked on Honda vehicles. Another thing I appreciate about Gunn is that when your car is serviced, you are part of a team, Your vehicle is assigned to a team before ever being purchased and you stay with that particular team for all your service needs. Love GUNN. Will buy from them again....and again!

While selling me the new car they were GREAT. When that brand new car needed warranty service they were NOT great. Did not fix the issue. Did not care that it wasn't fixed. I'm taking it to another dealer for that repair work. With all the problems I no longer like my new Honda. I'm going to get a Toyota next time.

Just got off the phone trying to schedule service with Gunn Honda. After the receptionist said it would be her pleasure to connect me, no one answered and I hung up after 4 minutes of unanswered ringing. Don't they realize that answering the telephone = $$? If any businessman doesn't get that basic concept, what else don't they get? Benson Honda here I come.

Beware - these incompetent sales managers like to do Spot Delivery scams. I looked into buying a used 2007 Suburban and they took my 2006 Sienna in on trade. I was not planning to even drive the Burb home. They scraped off and ripped my registration sticker, tossed my plates in a box and sent us home in the Suburban. We never heard back the next day and I called them. Turns out the lenders wanted us to come up with $6000 down. We declined this and I drove the Burb back to Gunn to get my Sienna back. The Sienna had been moved to an offsite lot and they couldn't access it until the following day. The sales manager who approved the Spot Delivery abruptly left, leaving the salesman holding the bag. I sat there for over an hour waiting for a manager to come talk to me. Seems that no one there wants to take responsibility for my lost time, money spent on gas (Burb was totally empty), ripped registration sticker, and missing Sienna.

Stay away from this place!

Procrastinating on the cash for clunkers deal, I finally decided to purchase a vehicle today. I fist went to a competitor Honda dealership. I had to ask for someone to help me, then if I could see the vehicle I wanted. He asked if I wanted the Cash for Clunkers deal. When I said yes he dismissed me and told me it was no longer available. I thanked him and left. I then went to Gunn Honda. I walked in and asked if the Cash for Clunkers was available there. It wasn't so I started to leave. The Salesman (Craig Simpson) came outside as I was leaving and asked if he could help me even if the special wasn't available. I went back inside and not only did I receive fantastic service from Craig, I stepped up a grade in vehicle. Then I spoke to the finance manager (Austin French) who helped me immensely with the financing, and made sure that I received what I needed without going over my budgeted amount. I cannot say enough about this dealership. Way to go Gunn Honda, You now have lifetime customer.

I have been buying Hondas from Gunn since 1992. They have an Excellent Staff in Sales, Financing and their Service Department. Over the years I have bought cars from different sales personnel at Gunn and have found them all to be very professional. In 2007, I made the mistake of buying a Honda from one of the competing dealerships (for a couple of hundred dollars less) and I had nothing but problems. I just bought a 2009 at Gunn and I am back on the right track. That makes a total of 5 Hondas from Gunn and one from those other Guys. From now on Gunn Honda is the only dealership for me! PS: The 1992 is still going strong with 192,000+ miles on it. Many thanks to Gunn Honda and your wonderful staff.

I went here first based off the reviews I had seen, but was completely unsatisfied with the service. Not only was the salesman having a bad day (he even said it was not a good last month for him and he really needed my sale) but when the total price after financing was $350 more than another local Honda dealership he said "If your driving back to them and fighting rtaffic is worth that $350, then so be it... that's the best I can do."

I was floored that a professional saleman was giving me the "I need a sale bad, help me please" sales pitch and then was semi-rude about matching another dealership's total price.

Maybe it was just him, or maybe the "One low price" ONLY applies to the actual car price but they add up to JUST AS MUCH if not more than other local dalerships once they get you on the financing.

I visited 2 other local Honda dealerships and neither used these types of "please help me" tactics and both were very friendly. Drove back to the other dealership and saved $350 for the exact same car. YES, $350 was worth driving 15 minutes to me GUNN Honda.

We were in the market for an ATV ( All Terrain Vehicle) to get around at the deer lease while hunting. Whe didn't need anything fancy just transportation. That's when we decided to buy used. I called around and looked in the paper and that's when I saw just what we were looking for at Gunn Honda. We went and looked at it and haggled over a price and ended going home with it. It has been very dependable and we have been real happy with it. I was real happy with the way the salesman handled himself there wasn't any high preasure sales tactics used and I appreciate that. I hate feeling like I'm being preasured into buying somthing. They had a full lot of nice cars for sale too! If you are in the market for a used vehicle give them a look!

PROS: No High Preasured Sales

I wanted to look at the new honda car and called them for an appointment. Friendly staff noted all what I was looking in the car - the color of the car, color of interiors and other things. When I reached for a test drive, I saw one with whatever I was looking for. I was really amazed by the service. Though I didnt purchase the car for them as they were not giving a good deal, still received a gift certificate from them for just test driving the car.

Recently when we were in the market for a new car, we went to Gunn Honda to look around. We took a test drive and spoke with a salesman who was not pushy, but seemed to have our needs in mind. Although we didn't end up buying from them, we did buy from one of their sister dealerships based on our experience here.
