1 Stars: bad business (by zoya m.)

One star is too much for this CO. After a month after the closing, they failed to send a check to HOA, so the management company is threatening the buyers to put a lean on their property. They never answer the phones and ignore emails. They closing took place 1 week later because they lost a file(!) in the middle. Horrible experience!

1 Stars: Not even worthy of 1 star! (by Billy C.)

Although I have no idea how to follow up a review like that...I will give my 2 cents as well.

Being a mortgage broker I have now worked with this company 5 times. They are batting a perfect 1000 for f'ing up everything they do.

So far in my experience with them, I have had a closing that scheduled at 10am that actually started at 12:30pm and we didn't get out of there until 6:30pm.

I have sat in a dilapidated shutdown call center and my clients were actually forced to sign their docs in a call center cubicle because they over booked and "it was the only place available"

I have gone to a closing there that had both lender and bank signed HUDs the day before.... and when we sat at the closing table the HUD was 700 dollars higher for no reason at all. They told the selling agent and I that we could get it fixed but it would take an additional 4 days, so we ended up eating it out of our commission just to avoid having to work with them for 1 minute longer.

The last closing I went to...guess what...the HUD was wrong and we closed 4 days after funds were sitting in their account.

Their biggest fault is lack of communication. Every single time I try to get a hold of the HUD preparer (ie.. the popular Amber Haines) her voice mail is full and yuou cant leave a message. They wont return your calls or emails, so I actually had to drive down there from Fort Collins to make a funding happen that should have happened 3 days earlier.

All in all, this is the worst company I have ever worked with. They are incompetent at their jobs and then shirk blame in everyone elses direction. You can have docs there 2 weeks prior to close (have done it and proved it) and they WILL screw it up some how.

Their managers are completely useless... So if they are continue the trend of being constantly understaffed, I am surprised they don't just fire them and make even more money for nothing.

the only person there who is worth a dime is the receptionist. So please advise...if you want anything done, call the main office and tell her that you cant get a hold of anybody and she will actually do something about it.

If you can avoid them...do so...if not... make sure that your clients are so overly informed of their incompetence that they get sick of hearing it...because towards the end of the transaction... you WILL end up apologizing for their actions.

5 Stars: Oh, Please!! (by No name s.)

I am sorry you mortgage brokers and agents had trouble collecting your thousands of dollars in commissions. This company is not set up to make it convinient for brokers agents. It is set up to MAKE MONEY. The same way you are in business to make money yourself. It is not set up to make the business of collecting commission fun and easy. I will be glad when buyer/sellers can bypass agents mortgage brokers and connect directly with lenders (investors) and sellers. The big boys own the foreclosed properties they are going to choose what is best for them, and not what is best for matching shirts wife/husband team with their dog in the middle on their business cards.

1 Stars: It's all true (by K A.)

Yep they are in business to make money. But that does not give them the right to steal it. They are disorganized, unapproachable, (NOTHING IS THIER FAULT)and three months after closing I am still trying to Join my HOA because they have no record of our home being sold, no payment from the previous owner, no transfer fee (which I paid these people up front), and no record of any payment from me throught these folks. Thank goodness for title insurance.

1 Stars: 2 weeks later... (by Cameron G.)

If you've read the first review by Matt M., then that pretty much sums it up. Unfortunately, it is usually the seller that gets to choose which title company to go with, which really stinks. This company gets an "F" for communication, availability, and ease of transaction. However, they do receive an "A" for continually getting their HUD Settlement Statement wrong. I and my wife are both Bankers and have had to deal with Colorado Prestige more times than we would like remember. There has never been any exception to their slowness and inability in processing the work. They will always try and blame the bank, the agent, or the seller first. Actually, I don't think they have ever taken responsibility for any of the delays or issues plagueing any of their closings.

If you know that the seller might use them, try and convince them to go to anyone else.

1 Stars: Horrible! Awful! Terrible! Fill in your own adjective! (by Bonnie E.)

As an agent, I have been forced to deal with this company off and on for 6 years and I am astounded that anyone this incompetent has been able to stay in business for as long as they have. I have never had a single closing with them that has gone smoothly. The latest dealing has been a complete nightmare. I had a cash buyer purchasing a foreclosed property. (a two week close). When we still had no title work or communications a few days before closing, we made frantic attempts to get someone to respond. We were continually told that Colorado Prestige had no file for this deal despite the fact that they cashed the earnest money check with no problems. After several days of calls to anyone that would answer the phone, we were told that our file was entered into their new computer system that no one knew how to use and therefore no one had been working on the file. Our closing was delayed nearly two weeks while they started working on the file. As of the day before the new closing, I still had no HUD or numbers. After calling all day, I received the numbers at 5:10 PM. To my great surprise, I found that there was a $5000 escrow added to my buyer's figures for an HOA violation lien regarding landscaping. This was the first I knew of this and the first the Seller's agent knew of it as well. Luckily my buyer had the cash and was planning on having the landscaping taken care of right away, so while he was not happy about it, he did not object to the escrow. We showed up at the listing agent's office for the closing on the next afternoon and waited 45 minutes for a closer from Colorado Prestige to show up. When they still did not appear, we called again and found out that they had "forgotten" to send anyone. So, with their approval we had them fax the docs and had a Chicago Title closer notarize the docs. In reviewing the docs and escrow agreement, we found that the title company had known about the HOA lien and escrow requirement for 10 days and had passed this information on to no one. We were told that Colorado Prestige would then overnight our closing packets and checks. This was last week and the listing agent and I are still waiting for our closing packets and checks and, Big Surprise, We can't get anyone at Colorado Prestige to return our phone calls. I do not know how a company like this remains in business, but I urge every agent that works with banks to forward these reviews to every asset manager that they work with and maybe they will realize that these incompetents are not serving their interests.

1 Stars: Commission check bounced (by Richard F.)

I've had all the same bad experiences, but when I couldn't cash my commission check, this was the real topper. After several calls, I was able to get through to the manager who blamed checks written on a closed account as the problem. It took another trip to their offices to receive a valid check.

1 Stars: My stomach drops evey time I hear this company's name.... (by Connie K.)

I am a listing agent in Denver and have worked with this company for a few years. I have had several transactions there, and I cringe even thinking about them.

Since I work for the banks, they get to decide which title company to use. As a listing broker, I rely heavily on the competence of the title company to get me through these bank deals. Unfortunately, I can only count on Colorado Prestige for one thing, and that is to screw up every single deal. It does not matter if it's cash! It will still be screwed up! I have urged my banks not to use to company for a long time now, but it is obvious who is in bed with whom.

The worst closings of my life have happened here and I feel like I am obligated to warn every agent and buyer that get stuck using this title company of the nightmare ahead. If you are a selling agent, please be forewarned...They will always blame the banks, other agents, utility companies, whomever they can not to admit that they are the worst company in Denver.

My livlihood depends on closing. When my closings are here, I take the incompetence personally.

5 Stars: Give me a break (by S S.)

All you agents that are in here complaining because your transaction didnt close the day after the contract was recieved need to calm down. This company is an REO ESCROW company which means that they work with BANK OWNED properties. It takes a little longer to close and they are more prone to title problems, etc that take more time to clear up. Learn something about the business that you are in before you start complaining about it. Either that, or just dont get into bank owned properties if you arent ready to wait a little longer for your file to close. I'm sorry that you only have one deal coming up the pipelines right now and need that to survive in this current economy, but there is no need to blame the escrow company for your woes. Your file is not the only one on their desk.

Also, next time you want something done, how about you try to be NICE and not SCREAM at them. You can catch more with honey than vinegar.

Ive had nothing but good deals with this company because I take the time to learn the process and understand that it takes a little longer. I ask when I need something instead of demanding it and I take time to develop a relationship with my closer. Maybe you should all try it.

5 Stars: Gee..Agents complaining?!? (by VS D.)

I read all these reviews and it is comical to me. A bunch of agents refusing to take responsibility for their own ineptness. Most people there are a pleasure to work with, and will bend over backwards to help you out if you do little things like, be polite, and keep them in the loop. Never have I seen so many agents whine, but it should notbe suprising. They only care about their commission check, their false outrage on behalf of buyers is nothing more than an act. Does this company make mistakes? Sure, but name me one that doesn't. Anyone needing these needs to consider the source of these reviews. They all expect to be the number one priority, damn anyone else, and they expect to have their work done for them. Maybe if you stay on top of your clients and do the legwork to ensure everything closes on time you would not complain so much. I know several people there and have worked with them personally and can attest that they are top notch!

1 Stars: Give me a break! (by Matt M.)

I am a full time real estate investor and have closed many transactions over the years. I have never dealt with such a sorry title company in my entire life. I was supposed to purchase a home using them as the title co and the closing got pushed back 2 weeks because they did not have all of the necessary documentation from the seller (a lender). I am now over 2 weeks overdue on another property that I was supposed to have allready purchased and I still don't know when to expect to close. On the first deal I had to babysit the process all the way through, just to make things happen. That should never be the responsibility of the buyer... These are the only 2 transactions that I've done with this company, but I'm supposed to close another at the end of this month and I'm scared about it closing on time to say the least. I would never recommend using this company to anyone. Its a shame that I, as the buyer, am unable to choose the title company or I wouldn't have to deal with this again... BEWARE!

1 Stars: most shady company in denver. wait colorado (by J j.)

affter having to deal with this company for the last 2 years, I don't think they have ever got a single closing right on the first time and it always seems their understaffed, in which they are. Their new manager(kim austin) was supposed to turn that office around in a month after she started in march or april. It doesn't look and seem like that ever happen and a matter of fact it might of even got worse. Just got word that yesterday that the new shady manager laid off almost half her staff that was already extremly short handed. Liz King always puts all the blame on other employees for her idiotic mistakes. The whole company is a big mess and I think they should get rid of Kim Austin and bring back they old manager who accually did something around their. They never care about their costumers and only care about is making their money Definatly recommend everyone to avoid this shady company at every cost. Their completly understaffed and will make your life a living hell
