.

Brainwavesnic - the office of Dr. Lisa Routh. I made an appointment at Brainwaves of Houston for my daughter. This program was recommended to me by people who had never been to this clinic.

I gave Brainwaves a $1000 deposit. All they did was send me a couple of pamphlets in preparation for what turned out to be a procedure that would put radioactive material in my child's body. After realizing more about what the procedure entailed, I was not prepared to go forward. I never even went past the waiting room! I left with my daughter.

Within an hour, I called them to ask for my deposit back. They did nothing whatsoever. Brainwaves already had a policy in place to prevent me from getting this back. Perhaps I was not the first one who made this choice.

If they'd been the least bit professional or had promptly refunded my deposit, I might have considered this further.

Brainwaves is more interested in keeping my $1000 than in good will or future business from me or anyone I know.

The security guard at their building threatened to tow my car - after I was already in the building - if I didn't move it. It was parked in an unmarked space in a large parking lot.

Then while in the Brainwaves lobby, I noticed a lot of New Age pamphlets as well. Somehow the touchy-feely atmosphere has not been consistent with their determination to keep my money. All I can say is - if you plan to give them $1000 a month or so before your appointment, you'd better be sure you're willing to lose it, no matter how things go.

Oh - and be sure and contact the Texas Medical Board - Public Information Officer - for more information before you head for Brainwaves in Houston.
