After trying multiple ways of trying to discourage scratching of unacceptable things (furniture, carpet, doors, etc.), SoftPaws, and other alternatives, i began to research laser declawing. i am happy to report that the procedure was a COMPLETE success on my strictly indoor cat (front paws only).\n\nHe was only away from me for a single day/overnight stay and had little to no discomfort after the surgery. He will still paw at things like a stippled wall, his cat house, etc. but his personality was completely unchanged after the procedure.\n\ni HIGHLY recommend the 249 clinic in Houston. They provided the best possible care and service to my Mildmay. The prices are also incredibly reasonable!

Our family recently rescued a Cockapoo from Poodle Rescue of Houston. We decided to return to our vet from years ago when we had both a cat and a dog. Dr. Jones and his team are absolutely wonderful. Dr. Jones is very thorough and explains everything in great detail and gives you all of the information and options to help you make an informed decision on how to care for your pet. I brought my Cockapoo in the day after we brought him home from PRH to be microchipped and to have a physical. A week later I had to bring him back because he was showing symptoms of kennel cough, most likely acquired at the shelter, and Dr. Jones prescribed antibiotics and cough medicine. I had all my questions answered and never felt rushed during either appointment, just as I remember from years past. I highly recommend this clinic for those living in the 249 area between Cypresswood and Spring-Cypress.

I have been remiss in not writing about Dr. Jones. I have been with the 249 Clinic from 2 weeks after we move to the area in 1995 when my blond lab broke her leg and Dr. Jones repaired it. Kelsey was a year old, she passed away last year at the riipe old age of 15 and Dr. Jones watched over our accident prone blonde lab . \n\nIn 2004 our children gave their Dad a wiemarimer\npup for Fathers's Day. She ufortunately was born with a heart mummer and we were devestated to find this little puppy was not to live to see it's first birthday without surgery.. Dr. Jones recommended Texas A & M vet. school, Augusta is still with us 7 years later. She is such a joy in our lives. There are glitches as with any business but Dr. Jooes does everything in his power to remedy the situation. Thank you Dr. Jones,\n\nThe Holley Family

I hate to give bad reviews.... My first experience kinda ruffles my feathers. My dog had eaten something and was vomiting..I was concerned and decided to take them to the doctor . Ive been before to other vets after hours, 100-200 bucks I feel I left with good info. With 249 Vet, I never got any call about treatment or anything. I showed up in the office, waited 45 min.(granted on Valentines). My dog was still in the kennel. Id met with the doctor. After a short talk I was passed to the tech on the register. Still my dog had not been returned, I had to ask for him back. I WAS CHARGED $$ 425$$ I felt like they would'nt return my dog until I payed my bill. I almost had a stroke. No communication AT ALL. I feel like Dr Jones treated him well( except not getting him back until after I paid). Im upset and will never use this clinic again. I recommend you do the same unless cost is no object. Im glad I had the $425 in the bank, that I wasnt expecting to spend. I feel like they wouldnt have given me my baby back until I paid. Once again NO COMMUNICATION or warning about cost.

Have been to several vets in that past and none have given me the attention and service as Dr. Jones office. They are Very friendly and willing to help. They really care about your pet. And Dr. Jones is Awesome. Explains everything in detail and never pushes an expensive procedure or costly remedies on you; gives you options. Very knowledgeable.

Dr. Jones and his amazing staff have been my family's only vet for...wow...at least 10 years now. I don't remember going anywhere else! After loosing my first love (Noonie - a Blue Calico) 3 years ago, I will make sure all my animals receive the same passionate care. They take the time to answer any and all questions and when Noonie had to stay a week with the vet because of her health I knew she was in good hands. They were even very flexible with letting me come in before and after hours to sit with her.

Cons: none!

Dr. Jones is the kindest and most sincere veterinarian I've ever met. He really cares for his patients and it shows. My personal doctor doesn't spend the time with me that Dr. Jones spends with my cats. I've taken 5 cats and one dog to him over the past 6 years and his sensitivity and care hasn't wavered even once. \r\n\r\nI've seen him for a variety of services. My elderly cat was dying from cancer and I'll never forget how kind and compassionate he was. I held her paw and cried when we finally had to put her down and he was a source of comfort throughout. \r\n\r\nI took my two youngest cats to him to be declawed. (I know some of you are against this, but they are and always will be STRICTLY inside cats and it was my choice.) He has made a significant monetary investment in a laser for surgery of this type. The procedure is so much more humane - you don't even want to know the traditional procedure that most vets use for declawing cats. Laser declawing leaves no painful bone fragments, no possibility of remaining nailbed that results in regrowth of derformed claws (happened to two of my cats with the barbaric traditional method) and my kittens were literally prancing and playing when I picked them up like nothing had happened. \r\n\r\nTrust your pets to Dr. Jones and you will not be disappointed.
