The sales people (April & Andy) were awesome. They weren't pushy and didn't even ask for contact info. They went out of their way to make sure we were able to get our car by having it brought in from another dealership. My wife and I really are very happy with our experience and the car we purchased. Thanks April and Andy. Awesome sales people and extraordinary service. Definitely will return to this dealership on our next vehicle purchase.

I initially visited Bob Baker Carlsbad to look at a 2011 WRX, and was really disappointed..service was initially poor as salesman refused to give me a test drive, and I'm 39 yo!...returned a few weeks later after scheduling an appointment, and a drive was offered, but I was still unimpressed with service provided by salesman. Seemed high pressure and typical of car sales, i.e. the car was 'rare' and would be 'hard to get' and seemed unwilling to negotiate price. So, contacted the dealer in El Cajon when I learned they were part of the Costco Auto Program..I was immediately contacted by their employee Royal Wilkinson to confirm my interest in the car, its specs, options, etc. and planned to visit on a weekend which was better for my schedule. His colleague Jack Manchester offered me a nice, long drive in the vehicle and gave me all the information I needed..very very low pressure and friendly. The Sales manager Jon showed me the Costco price, which was very attractive, and I ordered the car within a few minutes. My only complaint with the entire process is that the duration was suggested as 6-8 wk, yet delivery ended up being at least 10 wk from my first visit, although Royal did offer me a free rental. I finally met Royal and he was extremely accommodating and helpful on the day of delivery. He spent at least 1 h with me walking me through all of the features and options, which was great! As I had some problems linking up the Bluetooth after delivery, he called me and we spent about 30 min on the phone one afternoon troubleshooting, and I also received a call from the Service Manager regarding this issue. Keep in mind, I called the Carlsbad dealer (which is closer to my house) and was told that 'maybe' one of the salesman could assist me if I came by, but they could be with customers and I would have to wait.

Overall, it was a super experience with BBaker El Cajon..if you are going to buy a Subaru, don't waste your time at the Carlsbad dealer...spend a little gas money and drive to El Cajon.

My husband and I went to Baker Subaru looking to buy an all wheel drive vehicle. Not knowing much about Subaru, our sales person, Nick Anerade, was very friendly and knew all about the Outback. They gave us straight forward information over the phone and in person dealt with us fairly and honestly while we arrived at a price. I took my '07 STi in for an oil change, and wheel rotation and balance. The Service personnel were very nice and helpful, but they did not have the proper sized stick on wheel weights to complete the balance properly. One wheel they mounted a metal wheel weight to the outside rim and chipped the gold paint. It looks terrible. I was very surprised that since the wheels are stock on the car, they would not have the proper equipment to do the job correctly.

Bob Baker Subaru told me that the lean holder had lost my credit application. Had to come in again and fill it all out again. Wasn't until 3 weeks later that they informed me the truth was that they had sent it out in the mail with no address on it! It is still out there somewhere with all my personal information on it. Called the general manager Kurt Anderson. First of all, he didn't even know who I was. His attitude was unbelievable. No real concern at all. Told me that 5 others had also been sent with mine. He had heard from 2 of them. They had checked their credit report. So far so good. Are you kidding me! My private info is still out there! He offered me a year of Life Lock. I would think that if these credit applications are still not found more than a year would be necessary. I was lied to. Plain and simple. The employees have made a hugh mistake at Bob Baker Chevrolet/Subaru, I am hoping that the envelope is found before it falls into the wrong hands. I have always felt like a car dealer is doing me the favor of selling me a car, no change at Bob Baker Chevrolet?Subaru

Bob Baker's service is quite adequate and the prices within the normal range. At times I've waited too long and become slightly agitated about that and received no explanation or apology for the wait. That is frustrating but all in all it is an ok shop.
