This gentleman is absolutely amazing. Call him with a problem on virtually anything electronic and he has the answer...and the part! Not only does he have it, he can tell you how test yours, get to it and replace it without destroying your machine. He is one of the most trustworthy men I have ever met and the most helpful without a doubt. I drove by there today and got really scared when I saw the shop was closed, but he is only gone for christmas and he deserves that. What will we do when he retires...I shudder to think!
I've dealt with Abco only 3 or 4 times, but each time he had what I needed and was very informative about what he had. Amazing! I own a home that has a lot of original appliances in it, therefore making it hard to keep the appliance unless you can find parts for it. He has the parts!! Very affordable also. I have recommended them to others who I know have also gone there and gotten what they've needed. I've not yet used them for repair. But I'm sure the customer service is as great.
This man is the most trustworthy, sincere, and knowledgeable repairman I have come across in 15 years. After calling numerous appliance repair companies, retailers, etc. I was almost convinced that I would have to replace our built In microwave. Our neighbor just replaced hers... and our homes were the same builder about 16 years ago. It cost her $700 for the microwave and built-in Kit. Before I bit the bullet, I made one last internet search... and that's where I read about Abco. He came highly recommended by other repairmen who didn't work on small appliances. So I called him, dropped it off the same day (he doesn't pick-up) he unloaded it from my car... and had it fixed the next afternoon ... and it cost me $27.00. I asked if he only did small appliances and he said, "I can work on anything if you can get it here". He repairs refrigerators, washers, dryers and pretty much anything electrical. He is the best!
I had called around to places that would come out and diagnose my dishwashers problem-starting at $150. We just called Abco and described the problem and he ordered the $25 part. The next day I picked it up. My husband is handy like that to install and fix things. But even if you just hire a local handy guy to install the part, you'd come out ahead I figure. What it comes down to is having someone over the phone diagnose your problem. I am loyal to Abco to always buy parts there and I always refer everyone to utilize this business that puts shame to those repair companies. I hope his son is taking over the business!
Been going to ABCO for about 8 years. Have gotten advice and parts for my heating and cooling systems, different refridgerators, washing machines, you name it.
Have a suspect part, bring it in and he tests it right there on the counter and tells you if its bad or not. Only had to have 1 item special ordered in all that time, and it was there next day. If you like Good ole boy service and not trying to sell you stuff you don't need, this is your kinda place. Even worse, his prices are competitive. Kinda wish he would charge more. Don't want him going out of business.
They have every part or can order it for older appliances. I had a washer that one repairman told me needed to be trashed and after speaking with ABCO they correctly diagnosed that I needed a new belt. Cost me ten bucks and they even explained to me how to put it on. Ok maybe I couldn't do it but I was able to explain to my husband how HE could do it.
Another time, my over the range microwave oven stopped working. The repairman I contacted insisted that it needed to be trashed and replaced with a $400-500 new one. ABCO told me to bring it in and they fixed it for less than 50 bucks! It's still working and it's going on 20 years now. I always go to them first now with appliance problems. Even though I'm a lady, they never talk down to me even though I'm not very repair savvy.
PROS: great service
