Because of the previous review, I was a little apprehensive to send my children there. But I knew my children would be able to articulate to me when something was not right or undesirable (and plus they were the cheapest daycare considering that I would be paying out of pocket with no assistance) so I decided to send my children there for a moment until I was confident that things were ok. I picked up my kids one day, they were sitting at tables putting together alphabet, number, and picture puzzles laughing and listening to music. They also have construction currently going on in the background on days when there are no children there to build the look and atmosphere of the daycare. What I see is an upcoming daycare servicing our community like we so desperately need. I was interested and shocked about the food stamp thing. So far I have not been 'bothered' i guess would be the word about food stamps since that is the only assistance i am receiving right now, but as far as I can see it's an opportunity for a black community to help each other live and succeed in a country who's economy is failing and where everything is expensive and unaffordable. I am middle class. I don't get grandma. So for a person to pay a copay using no cash (which is what these gov't hand-out receivers apparently don't have enough of considering the gov't giving them money to help them walk out their front door) is a plus for those of us who wants to save it to pay bills or buy jordans with... :/ What should really be the issue is a community coming together to help in the success of another black business, especially one in the process of building and one that is marketed towards our children. The problem we have these days is tearing each other down with our crab in the bucket slavery mentality. We don't want to do nothin to help nobody but we'll put forth every effort to destroy anybody. So far, my sons have not returned to me tear faced and devasted because of their stay at the daycare. I ask them everyday that I pick them up what their experience was like and it's either we sung our abc's and danced or went to the park and played we colored or we ate food lol my sons are so cheerful and positive like his mother and father because that is the environment they are around constantly when home. I am appalled that someone actually took the time to down this daycare... I feel so sorry for the people today because we lack the values possessed by our elders who once told us if you have nothing good to say don't say it at all.. .why? cuz you reap what you sew and it's not christian-like behavior which is what this country was founded on: christian values. I know it's hard to do what is right: I am a nursing student who work 12 hrs each day at the hospital who tend to the duties of her home in down town raising two kids and a being a wife to a husband. My life is hard. But one thing I will never go for is another formulating their lips to tear down another. Ignorance is bliss for most. But I am that light in a dark place. For those who would like to, I encourage you to check out the daycare for yourself with out the preconceived notion that you're going to hate sending your child there. Know what you want out of the daycare, send your child there, and then see if you got what you wanted. Randomly drop in like I do to make sure that things you won't approve of are happening. And please make note of the daycare's process to get better so that we can have a positive place to send our children where they can learn real values needed in this deteriorating community. Someone has gots to draw the line and enforce change because if we keep doing what we have always done we will continue to receive what we've always gotten. So please take the time out to see for yourselves and question the daycare's intentions. I for one love the daycare and I am taking my 12 hours earned paycheck to contribute to the betterment of the daycare which is positive for our community. One thing i have always said, instead of complaining, do something about it..... :) Thank you.

this day care is very dirty, not safe at all, they have portable dividers and one day i went in to pick up my child and one of the dividers fell on and baby boy that was about 6 months, he was sitting on the floor playing and it fell on him and gave him a big hickey on his forehead. the bathrooms skinks, and he send children on field trips with permission slip forms. they kids does not have anything to play with at all. they feed the kids there the same thing everyday if they have left overs, also if the child does not eat all their food they do not get milk or juice at all. during lunch. due to the fact they do not get milk or juice for breakfast either. mr. carmicheal have to where the parents can pay their copay with foodstamps instead of cash. he does not spend any money at all for food. one day my child said he had ate hard bread with his hotdog. due to the cafertia worker did not have any food in the kitchen to feed them. and mr. carmicheal said its not his problem. he hound a parent down to bring food in from her foodstamps to put food in the center. overall i would not recommend no one to take their child to this daycare center. IT NEEDS TO BE REPORTED TO DHR.
