NOT THAT GREAT  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Their menu has in big letters "Organic!!" and "Raw!!", so what, they have raw salad (so does everyone else) and a so called raw sandwich well too bad there is bread (baked) and vegan mayo (cooked soy) on the sandwich which obviously doesn't make it a raw dish. In addition, turns out they don't even use organic vegetables, so then what's the big deal surely not that they use organic bread? If organic is important to you then skip this place, it's not organic! Makes we wonder how they can get off charging $10 for a salad. So there is some raw salads, they really can't claim raw or organic makes me wonder what else they're claiming to do that they're not doing.

cool vegetarian place!  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

I have heard a lot about this place as a "healthy alternative" lunch spot. I couldn't even decide what I wanted to eat because everything on the menu looked so scrumptious. I settled on a tabouli and avocado sandwich. It was so so awesome, and it came with fries that were sprinkled with some sort of spice. I have never had fries that good. My mom enjoyed her portabello sandwich. They even had tofu fries!

We sat down and our food was out very quickly and piping hot. My grilled cheese was on some type of mutligrain bread that was rock hard (I think too many oats isn't conducive to grilling it) and they used shredded cheese that wasn't melted all the way through. My fries, however, rocked. They were amazing. And delicious. And mouth watering. Course, the ketchup was some type of organic stuff that didn't help too much, but since the fries were so good, it didn't matter.

The wi-fi here is free, but very spotty. The prices were reasonable.

Not Organic 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

So, I went to dine at this restaurant after reading about it here, I am a long time (10 yr) vegetarian and was excited about the reviews of it being an organic restaurant. When I walked in I immediately noticed how brightly green it is, ok no problem. I went to the counter to place my order, under the sign that says "order", after looking at the menu board and discussing my options with the girl at the counter, who was very friendly, I decided to order the vegetarian fajitas and a side salad, I think my total was something like $15. I continued to talk to the person behind the counter while my food was being prepared, I asked her where they get their organic produce and she told me, to my surprise, that they do not use organic produce!! I then asked her if anything that I was ordering was organic and she said the tortilla, and the rice. I decided to just sit down and wait for my food to be ready, she brought it out to me and told me to "enjoy". I ate my salad and found that the garlic dressing was too peppery, for it being a garlic dressing they should not overdue it with the pepper. I went on to the fajitas, they where marinated in some tahinni which gave it a good flavor but it was so oily, the fajitas and the peppers on top where drenched in oil, making me wonder what was healthy about that. The beans where dry and flavor less, the only thing that tasted good was the guacamole. I will not be returning to dine here because there are way better places to eat that have vegetarian food that actually has some good seasoning and is reasonably priced.

Tastes good, but not like chicken 4 Star Rating - Very good

Food tastes pretty good, even to someone who likes eating meat (I found this place after searching for a Non-Indian restaurant to take vegetarian friends). Everything is fresh and sandwiches have good bread, lettuce and fixings- you don't end up with a stale tasteless roll and limp piece of iceberg here. Fake fish tacos are a favorite. It's overrated as far as being healthy (fried tofu is still fried, as are the yummy french fries you get with the vegi club sandwiches. Since when is vegetarian food is automatically better for you than food with animal protein?) It's a little overpriced. Plenty of parking.

Pros: good food, parking, casual

Love it 5 Star Rating - World class

Not many vegetarian/vegan restaurants here in Houston, so I'm very happy to have found Field of Greens. They have a great menu, that offers plenty of options (Sandwiches, fajitas, salads, etc). Their food tastes very very fresh and flavorful. You can even make a vegetarian plate "vegan" if you ask. I go here as often as I can and my non-veggie friends even like it. It's a casual, no frills place, and the staff & owner are really friendly. I'd eat here every night if my budget allowed it.

Pros: Fresh food, great menu, friendly service
Cons: None

Great tasting food 5 Star Rating - World class

I have been coming here a lot lately, and plan to go back a lot more! The food is of much variety and taste fantastic! Great service, has a lot of vegan options and the non-vegan options mostly can be made vegan! I wish they served breakfast everyday, it is superb! I plan to try everything on the menu, which is not cool because it is quite expensive there and I am not rich. Some great dishes include the Vegan Fish Taco Platter, Soy Cheese Nachos (cheese is not melted though!), Tempeh B.L.T. Sandwich, Breakfast Taco with the scrambled tofu, soy sausage and pico de gallo, and their Tofu Fries taste better than potato fries! Their avocado and pico de gallo are fresh and great tasting! Everyone should eat here at least twice - they would sure to come back for more!

Pros: Vegan, great tasting food
Cons: Very expensive and overpriced

Best Veggie & Healthy Food in the City 5 Star Rating - World class

For a vegetarian, vegan or someone who just likes to eat healthy and tasty food, with interesting flavors and ingredients, Field of Greens is a treat. It's little more expensive than some restaurants, but that's because the ingredients are top notch and a lot of care is taken in giving you wholesome food. What to get? The veggie fajitas, the veggie burrito, any of the excellent sandwiches (esp the tabouli avocado sandwich) and soups. Don't hate on it!

Pros: Fresh, healthy, tasty food
Cons: Not much ambience and no alcohol (but that's healthy)
