MBDC  5 Star Rating - World class

I've gone to Mill Basin Day Camp for a while, and I have to say, its the best summer experience I've ever had. The last time I was in the camp, I was in teen quest. I went on three three day overnights, and I felt completely safe and at ease. The councilors are great, and if anything, a little strict. We know our boundaries and we stay inside them. There are many different kinds of people, so no one could possibly have trouble making friends. We go on trips every day, and even when there are no trips planed, we go to the park, or a mall. They always find ways to keep us busy.I've made friends that will last a lifetime, and I still make sure I keep in touch with them. Mill Basin Day Camp brought us all together, and none of us will ever forget that.

An Excellent day Camp  4 Star Rating - Very good

Mill Basin Day Camp located in Brooklyn has looks that are deceiving. When you approach it it looks small, but the opposite is true. This is a big sprawling camp, on several levels, with the biggest outdoor swimming pool I have ever seen. This is matched by another pool indoors for use when it is raining that is also bigger than the pools at most places.

The camp offers more activities than any camp I ever knew of, with a well trained staff who has been there for years. Their activities and facilities include: The two pools, several well equipped computer labs, a photography studio, two arts and crafts studios, a bakery and cooking kitchen for children to learn to cook and bake in, many athletic fields, a movie theater where they show the children first run movies, a full weight training room, day trips for the children, a ballet studio, every sport you can think of, game machines, numerous indoor activities for rainy days, with all facilities totally air conditioned and equipped with phones in each and every room in the camp, many covered over areas for kids to play in in inclement weather, and so much more.

The children are grouped by age, and friends are put together on request. They have a formal type of party to mark the end of camp, furnish snacks, make sure all the children stay hydrated, and make sure all kids are identified and name tagged, and in camp shirts on every trip. This camp does much to reassure parents that their kids are happy, safe, and occupied all day, they have extended hours for parents that need it, and they are teaching children skills and sports, swimming and more, and not just acting as babysitters.

PROS: A well rounded day camp
CONS: none I can think of
