Like Johnrt, I was really surprised by the negative comments that were made about this place. Maybe since then they got new staff becuase the people who helped me with my repair were great! \r

I am amazed at the three reviews that precede me, because I have--several times--remarked on the great service. Okay, it's taken time, but parts had to be ordered--and showed up a few days early.

I thought the staff, other than one guy, was super, and hard working. I haven't been able to put it all back together yet (I had a receiver repaired, and it's complicated), so I've called to see if they can put it together for me.

The problem is the receiver; not the repairs.

I used this place because it was reccomended by Sony to do my repair. When I first arrived I politely stood at the counter waiting to be acknowledged. The 3 employees behind the counter continued their private conversation totally ignoring me.
As mentioned by other reviewers, the staff is rude and made me feel like I was disturbing them. I reluctantly left my unit. Repair was slow and rarely were my calls returned.
Unit was repaired but at what I later found out was an inflated part and service charge. Shame on you Sony for subjecting your customers to this abuse.
BTW- When I complained about the service an EC staff member just smiled and told me that they were sorry to hear I was unhappy but the wonderful thing about America is that we all have choices!
He is right! I choose to not to never use them again.
Oh! He did hold the door open for me to leave as he chirped "Have a nice day".

Cons: Customer service, price, slow repair, no parking.

However when I recently brought in a very minor repair (shorted headphone wire,clip and reconnect )
they looked at me like I had three heads, than I was told that I had to go to Radio Shack purchase some "unnecessary " replacment parts and then they would do the repair. If the job was too little they could have just said so.
I took the same "minor" repair to another shop and the work was done while I waited, about 10 mins. NO EXTRA PARTS NECESSARY.
Somtimes it 's worth going just a few blocks out of your way.

Broken electronics? You'll be glad that you had your repair work done elsewhere. Very slow service, a rude staff, and an offsite owner who has no knowledge of the poor work being done. There are tons of other places in NYC that provide the same service.
