In our search for a banquet hall for our wedding reception in the Novi, Michigan area, we came across Farmington Hill Manor. We met with the manager, Mr. Roy Oraha. He was very nice at first. He looked at his hand-written calendar and told us that the day we wanted was opened. We later signed a preliminary contract that was good for a month to secure our date. We offered to give him a deposit, but he told us that he trusted us and wouldn't accept our money.

Approximately three weeks later, when we went to go sign the real contract and pay the money, Mr. Oraha told us that he had no recollection of us and that our date was already taken by someone else who had reserved it 6 months before. When we showed him the paperwork that we signed, he backtracked and blamed his secretary for double-booking. He offered us meager compensation for a different date, but we did not accept.

At the end of the day, you may get some cost savings from Farmington Hill Manor, but you will have to deal with a poorly managed operation. We ended up switching to Laurel Manor because their customer service was incredible. My recommendation is that if you're considering Farmington Hill Manor, then save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else that will respect you.

I rent out banquet halls and restaurants at least once a week for my singles club and have never had such a bad experience with any place I have event rented.

Only half of the parking lot was plowed and there was 5 inches of snow on the rest of it. People had to park in the lot next door and climb over snow banks and ice to get to the front door.

The hall had rented out the adjoining room to a group of rowdy teenagers who got in a fight and kicked in the wall divider between the 2 rooms right in the middle of my dance.

My group was so scared for their safety, they were afraid to walk out to their cars, even if there were with a group.

The food which was served on paper plates was not quality and the entire experience was a huge disappointment.

I have been here for a friend of the family's wedding. The food was good and the service was ok. When I walked into the Banquet hall it was decorated beautifully. They also had a excellent premium bar in which I never seen before and the bartenders were also excellent and very nice.
